    Sleep walking

I suppose you could wave, but that probably won't do much. Write to the Chief of Staff.
  2. I absolutely guarantee you he is not. Think of the good speakers in the past and things they talked out; the state of the Air Force, their history with the military, and things they have accomplished. Doc is the epitome of things that are wrong with the Air Force, he is a micro manager to the nth degree, and his lack of operational and combat time along with his tactical capability is laughable. So I don't know what he's going to talk about, but I would put my two cents on BS irrelevant garbage or self-inflating tales. Yeah, a few more But it looks like Doc's in the top half percent of threads.
  3. I would highly recommend passing on that. I feel sorry for your class - don't you guys get to pick your speaker? If so, doesn't at least one person read this board?
  4. The DADT argument has been moved to this pre-existing thread. Feel free to continue the talk on Fehrenbach, but if you want to generally discuss the policy, take it over there.
  5. It does sounds like a stye - my neighbor's kid had one a while back and my wife (a nurse) looked at it. Summer's cut and paste was right on - it's basically a big pimple on your eye and applying a hot towel repeatedly should help. The kid who had it didn't even realize when it broke - got up in the morning and realizing pus was running down her face. Nummy. I would see the doc, though. If it's a sty he's probably just going to DNIF you until it pops and I wouldn't want to fly with that (in case it pops while you're flying). Plus any Flt/CC worth a salt is going to ask you what the hell's wrong with your eye, then make you go to the doc. If it's not a stye, then I'd certainly want to get it checked out. I'll avoid the doc for a lot of things, but don't screw with your eyes.

    F-16 VS F-15

Holy crap - are you still talking? Time out for you.
  7. Rated Distribution and Training Management Can't get to AFPC from here (there's an acronym page on there somewhere), but here's a geocities link
  8. Never seen anything in the KA blotter about vehicle theft on Ramstein AB since I've been here - though there is the occasional theft of items within the car (GPS, credit cards, etc). I'm really not sure why it's such a big issue if folks want to leave their cars unlocked; if your car and the contents within are so invaluable that you will risk them being stolen, then that's your prerogative and you have nobody to blame but yourself. We all got a good laugh because our commander got two tickets; one for his POV and one for his GOV.
  9. No, bitch or twat will do just fine.

    Spammers

They're removed, but do you think so? Now they have the ability to respond to posts (not just a quote, but using the original poster's name) with their info?
  11. Your flight records won't actually display "Non CMR" but it wouldn't take too much work to figure out when that occurs. It would be a matter of looking at your 112F-MDS specific Vol 2, which will dictate how long of a break in flying (dictated by events) results in non-CMR.
  12. I have a new favorite website. Air Force, uncyclopedia style
  13. I finished this about a month ago, disappointed I didn't get through it sooner. Absolutely outstanding book.
  14. Right, but when you make that many mistakes....don't go write two books about your accounts.
  15. I don't know about TVs, but I know that other dual-voltage appliances (computers, hair dryers) have a voltage switch that you need to flip to the correct setting or you'll fry it. The converter plug will cost you about $0.69 at the BX. 2. You cannot get network streaming video overseas, so trying to watch TV shows on abc.com or network websites of the like won't work. I haven't been succesful with bit torrents or Hulu, but I found Graboid, which has hundreds of thousands of movies and TV shows to download for a small monthly charge.
  16. Dead F***ing Last in everything he does - just like Z is to the alphabet. Funny thing is that I read one of his books prior to starting pilot training (I don't remember which one) and one of the parts that stuck with me was when he described his own pilot training class. He detailed a flight stand-up where his USEM had him in a stand up that he basically didn't know the answer to and he said, "Sir, am I solo or am I dual (with an instructor)?" The USEM responded, "You're dual." Lt O'Grady said, "Roger sir, at that point I will tell my instructor, 'Sir you have the aircraft." The guy was a dipshit before he even entered phase 1, how he graduated is beyond me. The fact that he got himself shot down, became a mockery of the Air Force to anything who knows anything about aviation, and has now profited off two books and sued a movie maker should tell something. Scott O'Grady is a load that should have been swallowed.
  17. Not quite. As mentioned, he is the SERE example of what not to do on multiple subjects, and the guy's call sign is ZULU. Most memorable story for me from the instructors, "When the rescue team arrives to pick you up, do not make a mad dash towards them waving your 9mm...like O'Grady did...or you'll get laid out" I won't even get into the actions that led to his shootdown.
  18. This one I can understand, but there is an AFN commercial where an O-6 stops an O-1 walking and talking on his phone in uniform and says, "Lt, be advised that IAW AFI 69-CMH, walking and talking on a cell phone in uniform is not authorized." UFB. It always kills me that you can get a ticket for running with your headphones, but dudes drive around all the time (most of them are probably SPs in their POVs) with the windows rolled up and the bass thumping so loud that it's impossible for them to hear anything. I say me with my headphones on foot is not as big of a threat as SrA Vanilla Ice in his souped-up Fiat pumping Justin Timberlake.

    USAA

I just received a forwarded email regarding a USAA scam that's going around. Apparently there are phising and snail mail scams that are going after USAA members. They are able to get pop-ups into the USAA website and sending out snail mails with numbers that are not USAA phone numbers. Here are the details below ----------------------- JTF-GNO published an alert in regards to United Servicemen's Automobile Association (USAA) members receiving phishing and pop-up scams. The document states the likely criminal intent is stealing the user's identity or theft of financial information via stolen credentials. USAA and many other military-oriented banking institutions are targets of this type of activity. According to JTF-GNO, "other similar financial institutions such as Navy Federal Credit Union (FCU), Pentagon FCU, and Air Force FCU have all issued various alerts to their members warning them of identity theft schemes. Navy FCU previously issued an alert that warned of criminals that had spoofed the Navy FCU website. Air Force FCU issued an alert warning of phone scams attempting to acquire access information of their members. The threat of cyber crime and the use of personally identifiable information (PII) against military members must be considered as relevant to military operations. Please remain vigilant and if you see something that is suspicious, please pick up the phone call your financial institution immediately before inputting or giving out any of your PII whether it be via the phone or online. Here is the link to what USAA has to say about this threat on their site: https://www.usaa.com/inet/ent_utils/McStati...9_05_popup_scam
  20. If you're TDY, you can take your rental agreement and TDY orders to AAFES and you'll get a temporary ration card linked to your rental vehicle. If you're not TDY or PCS'd, you're SOL.
  21. Where are the designated tax-free zones listed/documented?
  22. I don't know whether it's real or not, but he's wearing some sort of special suit. I know there was testing on a full-body liquid suit several years ago that was supposed to greatly increase G-resistance. G-Suit article Regardless, the test seems odd. Not only is he talking fairly normally at 10Gs, but he has his hand up to his mask most of the time. If the centrifuge was spinning around at 10Gs, it would be difficult to move your hand to your face, impossible to leave it dangling like he is.
  23. There are rules to the bar which you were about to break and be punished appropriately. Next time you go to the bar, read the rules....out loud.
