  1. Cutter Aviation is where we usually gas-n-go at rather than using TA at Kirtland. We park military a/c there with no RON fee.....don't know if it would be that same for a civilian a/c. If so, you could get gas at Cutter and then park over on the TA ramp..you just have to fill out a form to be able to do so. If you're into skiing, you're going to get there for the end of the skiing season, so you could probably do that on the weekends. I haven't been to Safety school, but I'm betting that your chances of getting a Friday off are slim-to-none. You probably have waaaaayyyy too many unnecessary powerpoint slides to review to be able to give you a whole day off!
  2. I fly with the Garmin Pilot III. It does everything that I have needed....I bought mine for $300 off eBay. If I had unlimited cash, my dream one would be https://www.sportys.com/acb/showdetl.cfm?DI...D=9590&CATID=93 complete with the top-of-the line XM weather/music subscription
  3. I fly with one in the Tweet when the weather is total dogballs, or anytime when I leave the local area. Also happened to be flying with it last week in a rental C-172 in Puerto Rico in marginal VFR conditions, when we had a complete electrical failure. Getting back to San Juan was no problem at all.
  4. Saluki, where are you? He's flying Hogs w/ a reserve unit...curious to hear his take on this.
  5. Except they won't let anyone other than fighters or FAIPs fly the T-38, so that really doesn't matter. Bomber guys usually come back and fly the T-6/T-37. [ 22. January 2006, 08:11: Message edited by: ENJJPT IP ]
  6. To quote a song off the new Dos Gringos album, "Now this political correctness must come to an end We're in the business of killin, who give a f^ck if we offend Cause I can mow 'em down by the thousands But I can't say a dirty word Well that's the dumbest f^cking thing that I have ever heard" Here's to the good old times that seem to be disappearing before I can even make it to the CAF.
  7. This song? https://www.immortalia.com/html/categorized...g/gang-bang.htm
  8. WIC=Weapons Instructor Course
  9. Someone enlighten a poor FAIP: What does "judy judy" (sp) mean?
  10. Anyone know of a non-aircraft-specific one?
  11. Curious to see if this actually the case...anyone got a reg to back it up (besides the C-17 one)?
  12. Never owned them, and have never worn them.
  13. So, the fact that there are 2 echelon formations formed by 3,4,5 & 6,7,8 is totally accidental and everyone else just kinda parks it where they please?
  14. Fury Surely by now you have figured out that as a FAIP you are a 2nd rate IP. As a LT & a FAIP, you are a 3rd rate IP. Myself and another FAIP are both flying commercial to Robins tomorrow to pick up a jet. When I proposed to go out there by myself and fly home solo(to save the AF 800 bucks), I was pretty much laughed at, even though I am experienced and have over 600 Tweet hours. "Rrrrrriiiiigggghhhtttttt.....you wanna do what?" [ 19. December 2005, 22:43: Message edited by: ENJJPT IP ]
  15. Whap, I think those are the best 2 yet!

Yes and no. Germans usually get a Tornado...but the last couple of classes FY05 had some F-4s in their drop as well. Most of the smaller countries (Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, etc) only fly Vipers, so that is what they always get. Italy, on the other hand, has drops that are as varied as the US is. They routinely give away Vipers, AMX, helos, C-130s, 707s, and probably another 1 or 2 that I cant think of. Plus, ever since class 05-05 graduated, the Italians don't even get their assignment on assignment night....they have to wait till after they graduate and go back to Italy before they are told what they will fly.
  18. Thread revival! Hacker, is this what you're talking about? https://reviews.cnet.com/Koss_The_Plug/4505...30235828-2.html Also, does anyone know where you can just buy one of those patch cords yet? [ 02. December 2005, 22:45: Message edited by: ENJJPT IP ]
  19. Concur with all of the above.....just want to add that I've seen guys miss 3-4 weeks of training and still graduate with their class. Obviously, the later in a particular phase it happens, the more likely you would be to wash back. But, like angrymonkey said, washing back is really insignificant in the long run. Your wings don't have your class # engraved on them, and even if they did, it wouldn't matter! I had a Dutch bro in my class in the same situation..his dad died and he went home to Holland for several weeks and still stayed with our class. [ 22. 20. Hacker Some (including myself) see it as a benefit because you already live here (i.e. its not a TDY or PCS-enroute). Single? No big deal, but to family-type guys, it can be beneficial.
  21. ENJJPT has the T-38C now.
  22. Hacker I'm curious to know what you think the Achilles Heel is?
  23. Well, technically.........but only because I was taking it easy on him! Had I used all my skills that I finely tuned while flying extended trail in the Tweet........well, the results would have been the same. Except we would have been killed ALOT sooner! Either way, it was a hell of a ride!
  24. Only the cool people get to tear it up in the Echo MOA!
  25. Found this page while looking for a Hemingway quote.....maybe it has been posted here before, maybe not..... https://www.airnoosa.com/index17.php
