  1. Just become a Tweet FAIP. You will eventually be able to make it sit up and do tricks.
  2. It can work, especially if you live on base. But ask yourself this. If you have to have the car to play taxi driver for the kids, do you wanna pile all those kids in the car at 4 in the morning to take your husband on the days it is raining? I had a classmate who rode a bike, and yes, we made fun of him when he walked in the flight in his bike shorts. But, he only had a 1 year old, and his wife could afford to stay home on days that he needed the car for whatever reason (cold, rain, etc). They made it work...but sometimes he had to get rides home, etc. Bottom line, even if its a cheap POS, I'd recommend having a 2nd car at UPT. If its only 1-2 miles to work, you don't need anything new......something cheap would definately be able to do the trick. If this doesn's answer your question, let me know what other questions you have.

  4. Are you talking about this?
  5. If you are guard, or maybe reserves, then there is a possibility. If you are AD, the answer is NO.
  6. Speed envy?
  7. The thing that aggrevates me the most about the cops is their policy at the gates. We only live 3 hours or so from our family and friends so we get visitors quite often. There is absolutely no rhyme or reason as to who they let on base and what the requirements are. This all came to a new height last week when we had visitors come to visit after the birth of our latest child. It's especially irritating because officer housing at Sheppard is not located on the main base.....all it is is housing. Wednesday: My parents come to visit, I call the gate guard, and they are told they have to go to the visitor center and get a vehicle pass and a visitor pass before they are allowed on. I take them to do this at 2330. Thursday: A call to the gate guard, and a friend (who doesnt have the same last name as me like my parents do!) is allowed on base. No pass, and I don't have to pick them up. Thursday later in same day: My brother and his wife show up, and after a call to the gate guard I am informed that I have to come and escort them on base. All 3 policies in less than 24 hours. A few weeks prior, my friend was allowed on base without a pass, without a phone call, and without myself or anyone else as an escort. She just drove up, told them who she was here to see, and she was let on! I don't wonder why the shoe-clerks hate pilots, but I sure as hell don't wonder why we don't like them either.
  8. If you wanna skydive safely, do this! https://www.flyawayindoorskydiving.com/lv.html
  9. The T-38 is at 300KIAS....I can't imagine it being too much faster in the fighters, but maybe it is... The T-37 (and I'd imagine the T-6 also) is 200KIAS at home base...... then usually a little faster than that at out bases.
  10. At ENJJPT, as long as you sign the high-risk activities form, you can skydive whenever you want.
  11. He almost pulled a Thunderbird!
  12. Kidding, BTW.
  13. I got mine done at hobby lobby.
  14. You can get FAIPed to helos?
  15. Just slightly under 50% of my current class busted their mid-phase checkride (here at ENJJPT we call it the C9). Overall, I would say that a 50% average is a little high. [ 21. August 2005, 22:47: Message edited by: ENJJPT IP ]
  16. BWA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!! I have an autopilot, but it's usually not very reliable.....it's called a student! [ 19. August 2005, 21:28: Message edited by: ENJJPT IP ]
  17. Shack on another way of dealing with this issue.
  18. As a current flight scheduler, I feel well-qualified to answer this question. In fact, I actually had to deal with this issue last night, again. If you don't jive with a certain IP, tell your scheduler or flight commander. At least in all the flights I have been in, nobody has ever had a problem with making the change, and the student isn't looked at any differently because of his/her request. If it happens twice.......well, its still a toss-up. 3rd time? It ain't gonna happen, and the problem isnt with the IPs.... its you! If the problem is that the IP is talking too much, professionally/tactfully, tell the IP. When I was a student, my best bud was flying with an IP in the formation. After the first set of wingwork, which he wasn't performing too well on that day, he was being overloaded byt talking from the IP. He finally said "Sir, please, I can't concentrate!" The IP then went cold mic for the rest of the sortie, and he proceeded to fly a very nice sortie from then on.
  19. My bad, I meant VN 05-06. Sorry.
  20. PM me if you are..... [ 25. July 2005, 23:34: Message edited by: ENJJPT IP ]
  21. so why the delete?
  22. Bad intel or too sensitive for someone's ears?
  23. When I went to Whiteman a year ago, the current setup was for 2 LTs straight out of UPT each fiscal year. One of them would fly the T-38 for 18 months before going to B-2 FTU, and the other one would go straight to FTU.
  24. Don't forget that we also don't have SOFs at UPT bases to help tweet student on his initial solo with all of 16.9 hours of military time. Obviously not an ACC base.....
  25. Stitch was one of them, right?
