  1. Thanks for the link to the waiver guide! I think ill be ok, my biggest issue i learned is that i wasnt taking the randot test right, no one explained you look THROUGh the picture to see the circles.
  2. I agree with everyone else, i have no experience as i'm going through the application process myself but after recently having a randot test (the one with the circles) and finding it hard to pass, my eye doctor said that it really is a stupid depth perception test to DQ someone for and is usually only used as a cursory test. The AF i believe requires you to pass 25 arcs minimum, which my doctor said was ridiculous with this test; if you have not taken it before, its hard to do, yet does not mean you have bad depth perception. He gave me some eye exercises to do and i took the test a week later (hes an old family friend) and i passed no problem. Do what others have said, go above the recruiters head if you have to and get a REAL test done. MEPS from what i hear, can be such a pain sometimes, i wonder why they don't have a separate unit specifically for pilots prior to getting your FC1, or just bypass MEPS and go to FC1? i dunno
  3. Shouldn't it say "Your spelling and grammar ARE in need of improvement" ? I am sorry that I was responding from my cellphone while traveling. You chastise my spelling and grammar, yet post no helpful info in regards to the OP? We're supposed to be here to help one another! :)
  4. i wouldnt worry too much about the childhood stuff, i was allergic to an antibiotic too, doctor said most children are allergic to some antibiotic or another due to still being developing, i would give me stomachaches. the OTC allergies, unless you are documented by a doctor with these allergies, i dont see how it is even relevant to their questions. for the record i have no official experience as im in the same boat as you, just offering a voice of support!
  5. Just an update, passed the red lens test, and did well overal on my yearly eye exam, did poorly on the depth test (circle randot). my doctor thinks its more likely due to me eyes not being trained as well to see it due to looking at a computer all day. he taught me some exercises and gave me some stereograms to practice and i feel confident now but would still like to know more about the regulation
  6. Was looking through the forum and only found passing mention to it. was wondering what exactly was waiver-able about it, if anything at all? im going in for a eye test before i start my journey, in the past i have been border line for depth perception issue but i also have slight myopia that may have contributed to it. im going in for a retest to make sure even with the correction there is no issues with depth perception/diplopia . if i do have confirmed diplopia, am i pretty much screwed when it comes to flying?
  7. Let me preface this, i know its been covered i just wanted to get some more recent opinions. Was emailing the recruiter and he sent me the standard precheck. When i was young i tried marijuana a couple of times, really didnt care for it, havent used it since. now i havent heard from the recruiter in a couple days and now i dont think i have a chance at OTS let alone a UPT slot. Ive had several old school pilots tell me i should have fudged it, but i just couldnt do that. did i screw my self over by saying this ?
