  1. Welcome to the military, if you can't stomach this now, don't do it. I taught T-38's and F-16's for years, it is geared toward a younger crowd that can focus on training for 2 years and outside distractions come in 2nd place. I've seen it done, I've seen the older dudes do well, it's going to be tough.
  2. Ever done a SIB out brief to a general? Double slides/power point/projectors/computers. You even have to have somebody click at the same time so its simultaneous. If you are going to queep out I guess that would be the place, but still ridiculous.
  3. I wonder if the F-16 OBOGS has had any problems (BLK 50), I flew with it for a few years starting in 2004! When it worked, it seemed fine but there was no "little hiccup" in most of them, if they didn't work you were hosed.
  4. I think it’s funny Bashi talks like a 12 year old playing Call is Duty whilst drunk.
  5. Navy speak, must of tried a low approach and settled on the runway, or as a lot of us surmised, what happened. My favorite Navy speak briefing with Hornets, "We are going to bring our section to the break and bounce." WTF are you talking about?
  6. Because MSNBC doesn't tell you it is bad. I like this former CIA operators explanation.
  7. Just reduced by the amount your VA payment is, for most people. Most of you didn't know that one did ya.
  8. Southern AZ, and I've seen the openings. I think the best I could do at this moment is some sort of traveling BGI employment, heard this exists, but it doesn't spell it out on their hiring website. I'd be totally down with it if, on the end, I could secure local employment.
  9. Just retired....
  10. Civilian disability medical retirement, I was an ART and my cap is 80% of my high 3 years. If I make more than that, it is gone forever, I’m not going to let that happen. I don’t qualify for the airlines. Part time BGI is perfect, but they are possibly over staffed at my location. I will not move to Holloman, I think that experiment will fail in a few years.
  11. Any of you work for BGI post retirement or while in the ANG/AFRC? I'm trying to get hired to a sim gig, the announcement is up for the job on their website (for the last couple of years) and I just cannot make any headway into getting the job. The bro-network is strongly on my side but it just hasn't happened. I've given some thought to Booze-Hamilton and was wondering what the peanut gallery thought. I have an income cap due to disability retirement (long story, soon) and full time would be tough. And yes, I meet all quals.
  12. Somebody must be sitting alert......overnight.
  13. A fighter unit is going to want at least 5-7 days a month in participation. HI probably has a “live local” rule if I were to guess. Not living on the Island would be a mistake.
  14. There is absolutely a white jet career track, it may not be “official” but it happens.
  15. Nope, but I’ve seen it be an issue. At our unit, the AGR orders are changed when you sign the bonus to run concurrently so this is not an issue.
  16. I’d say you are doing it right.
  17. 10 years from now you’ll disagree with that statement.
  18. You’d all be surprised how much of this goes away when you retire, even with the retired ID.
  19. Friend of mine made the front page of Breitbart. https://www.breitbart.com/national-security/2018/05/12/former-navy-seal-waterboarding-sleep-deprivation-box-confinement-just-another-day-office/
  20. I saw that douche-nozzle speak at a dining out, I wanted to throw my drinks at him.
  21. Or maybe the senate ignored him because it was a terrible idea and he knew it wouldn’t pass. Either way, Pres T said he would do it, nobody should be surprised.
  22. Yeah, Mr Plug has a point. Plus we all know the mil guys are better. 😁
  23. Good on ya, starting UPT at 35, not sure I could do it.
  24. T-6? We had a handful of T-38 IPs that were terrible, most of them didn’t know it. The studs were about the same. In the F-16 the number was WAY smaller, but there was still an odd, um, “duck” in every squadron. I don’t think there was a large number of poor pilots as I recall.
