    Who else night HAS over the water? It was illegal back in the early 2000 except the range just west of Osan, Kooni (sp?). Under NVGs, during the safe escape, you’d be flying among the ricochets, I couldn’t believe it was legal and I’ve heard, it isn’t anymore.

    I’ll be curious if there is ever a “report” that doesn’t blow sunshine. I just know I was a phase 3 guy for 4 years (-38) and we hardly had time to finish everything as it was. Any of them attempt IFF yet? I can’t get the inside scoop until their in some sort of fighter pipeline.

    Fuck that attitude, if your a pilot on a base and you run into this attitude, somewhere along that douche bags chain of command, is a pilot. If you’re more than a snot nosed LT, fix it. Rememeber, behind the silver wings of power, you’re also an officer, dust that knowledge off. Somebody is going to jump on here and say you should fix it as a LT, that’s dumb, nobody listens to them.

    No, K Falls is good for now because it’s an RTU, but don’t think that Oregon having 2 fighter units hasn’t gotten anybody’s attention. Other than that, if your not getting info straight from the NGB, you’re guessing. Fake news!!!

    If your ANG, a simple trip to your OG GTC rep. for a quick chat, problem gone. If your AD, probably not but it is a bit weird. I though the same thing as @Gazmo but it could just be the way the dude does accounting, never letting travel money hit his personal accounts. i had an outstanding $8k on my GTC for 5 months due to a clerical error somewhere in the bowels of Davis Monthan AFB, boy I heard about it, but everyone was understanding I wasn’t gonna pay it myself.

    I think you are confused on how all of this works. If they “wanted” to have fighters, I think 90% of units would be flying them. It’s a way bigger picture than I’ll lay out here or you need to understand, but it’s up to Congress (and sometimes, very rarely, the states) to place fighter units around the country. If congress decided to take away or switch airframes, there isn’t a lot the individual unit can do but bitch. Stick with units that appear to provide some sort of costal defense and you’ll be good. And I don’t wanna call bullshit, but none of my F-15 friends would ever say that, most would stick with the F-15. Do you wanna fly fighters or live by your family? You may have to decide.
