  1. Yup...that's this guy.
  2. I got the same letter a couple weeks ago. I just haven't had time yet to go over to the MPF during their version of "business hours." Seems like this is a common problem lately? Weird.
  3. I had heard a rumor that the U-2 and B-2 wings will soon transition to the T-6 as a replacement for the T-38. Anyone able to confirm that?
  4. Well, if she's dead you'll just HAVE to get custody. ...just a thought :)
  5. Wait...he was in a gang? And his name was "Juwan?" No way. What are the chances of THAT happening???
  6. Just like Harleys, you're going to pay more than its worth. HD and Buell are practically the same company, and Buells suffer the same overpricing problem the HDs suffer.
  7. Another alternative to the SV650 is the Kawasaki Ninja 650R. Here's a picture: Mine's a 2006 (black), and I love it. Great starter bike with lots of potential once you get confident (like the SV650). www.ninja650R.com

    HUD tapes

Knock it off. Yeah, when a guy is busting his ass just to learn how to land the T-38, you bet your life I use HUD footage to talk about what happened in the traffic pattern. We're talking UPT here, Rainman...not IFF. Just getting to the flare and touching the runway without blowing a tire or killing oneself is an adventure for dudes who are pre-solo in their early days of the T-38. Beyond all that, the HUD tape is retarded to have for UPT T-38s unless something awesomely hilarious happened. "Turn the Heat OFF!" is an excellent example.

ZING! Actually, you might be one of my students. How do you feel about The King?
  10. Oh man...this thread is just chock full of happy knowledge goodness. Where's my popcorn?
  11. I've been a T-38 FAIP for about 2 years now, and I have a pretty extensive bag of tricks... ...but since I still want to use them for the year I have left, I'm not going to share. :)
  12. Now THAT is funny.
  13. That's close, but here are the actual numbers: Vipers: 7 + 2 ANG F-15E: 3 F-15C: 1 T-38: 1 T-37: 1 B-1: 1 Tornado: 4 ...I should know, as I MC-ed. A pretty awesome drop, I'd say. Congrats to eLvis Flight!
  14. And in case you wanted to see the video clip of the swimsuit competition: https://www.missusa.com/delegates/2007/file...-show_swim.html
  15. I think I'd rather hang out with the Miss Teen Arkansas, in the picture on the right: Hang on...I'll be right back...I think it's OSI at the door.
  16. Photoshop or not, it's still pretty funny.
  17. I like to have a few beers with lunch between sorties. Sometimes a shot of weed before I step for my last flight...but that's only when I'm triple-turning.
  18. Did anyone else click both pictures...only to find out they were the same shot? lol I did... Nice helmet. I have the same one in red. Very comfortable, and the visor detach system is the best I've seen. I get compliments all the time, too.
  19. wow...it got gay in here really quickly. So here's a hot girl on a hot bike:
  20. Good point about the decals going away. ...although I have no idea how I'm going to get rid of my decal without ruining the paint on the wheelguard. I'll probably just leave it on for posterity. ha. Good to know there are more riders on the boards! Got a pic of your CBR?
  21. Are there any other members of BaseOps that ride? Here's my bike...I took the picture during a great ride to the Wichita Mountains in OK: (2006 Kawasaki Ninja 650R) Riding to work is great, and I even agree with the USAF's demands about protective gear. I always dress for the ride with the required helmet, boots, and gloves...and I wear a leather jacket 99% of the time. My only complaint is getting on base. Lately, the guards have been insisting that they get to "hold" my ID instead of just look at it. With my heavy leather gloves on, it's next to impossible to reach into my wallet, grab my ID, and then put it all back in (sts) without dropping something. All this goes on while the cars line-up behind me at the gate. In the past, I had been wearing an ID armband with my ID inside, and the guards were just looking at it and waving me through. I guess the policy changed in the last couple weeks. I've been thinking about getting a clear luggage tag to put my ID in when I'm riding. I plan on attaching the tag to the zipper on my jacket pocket. That way, my ID is still secure on the odd chance that it falls-out of my pocket. Since it's totally transparent, the uptight guards can then hold my ID themselves and get a look at both sides. Overall, I don't understand the insistence of "holding" the ID card. It's already difficult enough to get permission to ride on base (I had to make 3 trips to the safety office, talk to the SQ motorcycle rep, and talk to my CC just to get the vehicle sticker!), so a suspected "terrorist" would have a tough time gaining access to the base on a bike. Oh well. So...any other riders here at BaseOps?
  22. Three. But pattern stuff (or other Contact flying) is pretty lame in the sim. Work from the foundation up: Ground ops. Get them down COLD in the sim so that the "sim to aircraft transfer" actually works. I can't tell you how many people "think" they have the ground ops down, yet get on the ramp and freeze up with all the noise, distractions, etc. Try to get stuff down so it's second nature (your hands move without you thinking about what they're doing, sts), and that's a good start. Or...better yet: Relax and down a couple pitchers. Chase some tail. There's plenty of time for chairflying, studying, and sims in UPT.
  23. I agree that it looks pretty retarded to leave it on. There's no flap on the jacket pen pockets...so why have one on the flight suit?
  24. I thought J-Weed was a bourbon... Ok, ok...a "bourbon liquor" ...but still, doesn't it count?
  25. Maybe so...but is she HOT? haha
