Unless something has changed very recently, rated guys can't go to ROTC except as a Det/CC. USAFA may be an option.
I'm assuming you haven't hit your second flying gate considering you're just now hitting 10 years in the AF. Probably going to be tough to get released to go to a non-flying job that isn't somehow related to flying/ops - i.e. a rated billet on a staff may be possible, but going to instruct at USAFA/SOS/OTS is probably going to be a lot tougher.
RUMINT around Maxwell is next week now....this is the best kept secret in the Air Force apparently. Seems like those "in the know" don't even know the release date.
So now we'll finally get legislation through Congress...only to be vetoed and sent back where there won't be enough votes to override....and the cycle continues...
Another vote for going Breitling direct - middle man is ripping you off. We did an order for Gunships in Jan and it was $2500 for the Aerospace - can't imagine the price has increased $500 in 10 months.
This discussion didn't even start until JQP posted on his FB page that he wasn't getting referrals from BODN....
Just because JQP says something is fucked doesn't necessarily mean it's fucked.
Gotta love how our conscious works in the West:
Kill almost 100,000 of your citizens using conventional means? No problem.
Gas 1,000? You've got to go.
No worries - I was quoting the angry citizen about why he couldn't voice his concerns to the military. Bad comedy on my part - if you have to explain the joke...
Do you guys think POTUS should have been there? I guess I don't get all the consternation about him not being there (if he was in fact playing golf, then that's probably poor timing...). Seems the Army Chief of Staff attending is an appropriate level for the funeral of a 2 star. I think there's enough legitimate critiques of the administration that glomming onto something like this drowns out debate on valid topics.
Checks. Last year HAF directed that each DT could only have one candidate on their primary list - all the other seats had to be filled by selects. They did allow candidates on the alternate list, and have allowed DTs to pull candidates off the alternate list to send to school this year. Source: Outbriefs from SOF and CAF DTs.
So having 20% of the list being candidates this year is a sizeable increase over last year.
I heard this year (from a Wg/CCE) that the primary list would be 20% candidates, 80% selects - anyone heard the same? If so it's at least a step in the right direction away from "1 candidate per DT" like last year.
