Anyone feel free to chime in and correct my understanding of the history and facts: My first shutdown that I experienced while receiving a DoW paycheck was during the Clinton administration. Our paychecks were delayed a few days, but the paychecks arrived in full. Every shutdown since, same song. In fact, while I was always required to show up to work, even if my paycheck was delayed, other federal agencies were handled differently. Some agencies, or certain workgroups within those agencies, were told to stay home. And yet, time and again, once a CR was passed by Congress, those workgroups received their full paychecks. Seems like the government, and media mouthpieces, will use words like "furlough"...but that word has a different connotation than if I, in my current role, were to be confronted with the same term. Yes, the fact that Congress can't do its fucking job is righteous bullshit. But this admin isn't really breaking any new ground here. Broken trust, indeed.

Would guess that this would not be an overall cut of the force. More likely the opposite. Just a manning reallocation. Maybe the tech has improved, but at one point launching an RPA sortie was greater than the similar manned sortie in terms of manning and dollars.

At the end of the day, they're all just grasping at a different part of the elephant. Still blind. If I hear Rogan say one more time that the Fire Department (public utility) is socialism (central planning the means of production) again...

Been a minute since my last HF shot, but do we have airborne target TTPs now? I mean, the Pk against ground movers wasn’t eye watering, and you had to get a bunch of variables just right.

Next 9/11: drone swarms targeting airliners, first or second climb segments, most vulnerable. Simultaneous execution across a dozen or more airports before NAS can react and shut down. Clancy predicted 9/11 methodology seven years prior.

California says Supreme Court doesn't apply to them
BFM this replied to ClearedHot's topic in Squadron Bar
I mean, it is CA after all. To them, it’s a feature, not a big. -
Not to mention, you could come up with some pretty wide spectrum comparisons for GI Bill usage. The high end being some Ivy League private school with a yellow ribbon financial incentive, the low end being a trade program, or in this case ratings. Everyone's GI Bill usage is going to be different. The most important part is that it gets USED, which, tragically doesn't happen in a shockingly high statistical rate. For the record, I was on the MGIB during school, before the rates started rising. $465 a month baby! Good news is that I got a year plus up under the P911GIB...which I intend to use for a rotary wing add-on 🤙

Probably not in this case. Likely the flight lead's local callsign. Possibly bought at an LPA sponsored callsign auction after upgrade/joining the unit.

Yes, BUT...I do have one in my safe that I wouldn't trust as a fishing weight. I'd happily drive down to Dallas for $150. Best price I would probably get for it.

I wonder if there’s some MBAs that ignored the design engineers. Nah, that’s ridiculous.

I've been running the Tenicor VELO5 for the past year. Been an absolutely fantastic holster. I've been carrying a Hellcat OSP with it.

Just to clarify, contrary to my roadside gameplan, I would enthusiastically submit to breathalyzer offered on a jetbridge. Fun story: Pilot is on his way home from a trip, gets a call from a CP asking why he refused his random test. Fast forward several years, and lots of litigation, turns out that the minimum wage, non-English speaker with a clipboard didn’t get the job done that day. I’m guessing that the award didn’t make up for the lost income, and stress of having to litigate the case. Unfortunately he was over 65 when the case finally finished.

"Listen man, we're just going to run a few tests so that I can establish that you're safe to drive. It won't take too long, and you'll be on your way." Enter, the Drug Recognition Expert. Blow zero? Yeah, doesn't matter. For further Google fun, look up the 600+ sober DUI arrests in Tennessee. BREAK BREAK: Just to pull this discussion back on subject. On the side of the road, about the time when the cop starts with the small-talk questions (which are not small talk), I'm limiting my answers, and I will quickly establish that I don't consent to searches or roadside tests. On the jetbridge is another story. The rules of evidence are different, and I'm more concerned at that moment with my fitness to fly and further employment, in that proximal priority.

Rumor is that the F/O popped in Sweden doesn’t drink. https://www.chicagocriminallawyer.pro/blog/the-impact-of-keto-diets-on-dui-breath-test-accuracy/

Unfortunately, from what I've seen, false positive, or BS "drug recognition expert" arrest that ultimately gets thrown out, still triggers certain Fed actions, including grounding and HIMS goat-rope (a valuable program, but if you're stone cold sober it gets devalued as a haze).

My personal bottle-to-throttle is about double the FOM standard. Just too much money in the pot to call that hand. That said, if I ever do get into widebody international again, I will go full Quaker from CONUS coast-out to clearing US customs. Happy to go hit Oktoberfest or a bottle of wine with dinner up the Italian coast...but only on vacation.

Billions of cargo ton-miles flown by 767s every year. OTS systems and parts just lying all around. AF: yeah we want to redesign the tracks and rails. Just cannot get out of their own way.

CEO (who is married) of a not small company got publicly caught fishing off the company pier. Hilarity ensued. Company is not small, but not a household name, so if you don't know who that is, it just means you are living right in terms of social media consumption. His wife has since removed her married name off of her Linked-In account, as a barometer of how that's going.

The record scratched for me when TK started to go off on anti-2A rants. That said, there's some stories coming out of the woodwork. It's the internet/X, so taken with a grain of salt...

Lol; I grew up in a suburb. I usually lead off with I'm from Chicago, unless they're familiar then we can get more specific. I sure as heeeeelllll don't say I'm from Englewood.

Had friends that were ABMs. They tried. A few had moments of helpfulness. But overall, BACN was 1000% more useful than Darkstar, any day.
