  1. "Equality" in today's terms almost always means "special treatment"...and that applies to race, gender, orientation, etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  4. Absolutely...one of the big pushes to move to the 25mm was the significant increase in slant range before experiencing any tumbling and being completely ineffective. I can't really speak to how much of a difference that would make for the forward firing guys; there's way smarter bros who understand the ballistics of a run in vs orbit shooting. 5. WRT the AC, having the 25 AND the 40 is orders of magnitude more effective than the 30 (not a W vs U thing, I've been told that by multiple JTAC's I've worked with). Given that the new AC's will (hopefully/likely) have a large bore cannon to compliment it, you could make an argument for either the 25 or 30, and weight would not play a large part of the discussion. I know that's not really an answer, but bottom line I think it could go either way depending on who you ask Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. So...I want one... https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2015/04/foghorn/breaking-fnh-usa-releases-new-guns-including-semi-auto-m249-m4-m16/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Haha wow On a separate note...TruGreen sucks giant monkey balls. I had an hour phone conversation with the president of the company when he followed up to a letter I wrote him after they screwed up service/broke several of my wife's pots&plants/generally were awful at their jobs Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. What is the change you speak of? For better or worse? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  11. That checks, and I'm not sure I would disagree from that standpoint. From the pilot seat there isnt any way I'd chose a W over a U though That's totally fine and not that it really matters but I know plenty of people (let's just use a minimum of 12) who have turned down the opportunity to leave in order to stay in the 4th...different people have different experiences. My time in the 4th has been awesome, both the MWS and the unit in general. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  13. Except that statement applies more (at the very least equally) to the U than the W WRT the pilot...hence my question Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Which is exactly what happens on both U and W (obviously different weapons/means)...which again, is why I asked the question I did If it's because of the different munitions, that's fine...just was hoping to hear from someone who actually had the opportunity to cross and didn't Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I'd like to think it will be sooner than that, but who knows with the way things have been going Honest question, why did you want to stay on the W with a chance to go to the U? I can't, while admittedly biased, can't see any reason to do so Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. If the PSDM has been released, it should be on your vMPF. Check under "assignments" or whatever the link is and it should have a base and RNLTD Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. People used to be on a fairly predictable swap b/w Hurlburt and Cannon, but with the shutdown of the H, there hasn't been a whole lot of it. Yes, some people have gone to the W but it doesn't seem like that will be the norm (at least for now), especially with the J on the horizon...once that is full up it'll probably be back to swapping guys from on location to another. Follow on is kind of weird, just because of the uniqueness of AFSOC in that respect. Most of the guys I know just move around Hurlburt to different areas of the HQ, unless you want to leave and go do a staff tour somewhere. That's an area where I definitely don't know a whole lot, it's all just observations so take that with a grain of salt. Some of the guys that grew up in AFSOC complain about how awful it is; having spent some time elsewhere, I think AFSOC is the best place to be hands down. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Or, is it smarter? Seems pretty brilliant on their part Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Just for you scoobs...I legitimately like being AD. My career thus far has been awesome, albeit much of that has been luck and timing. I don't have experience with the other aspects so maybe I'm just naive, but not everyone despises AD life Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. U model pilots go through an abbreviated syllabus at LR, then to Hurlburt where you'll do MQT with an entire crew of new guys, including new AC's, at the 19th. Afterwords you'll PCA to the 4th For W, no clue...they aren't a real gunship, so they go somewhere else Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Not RPA specific, but it should be similar as the CSO/pilot select guys...BLUF check with your training shop as they will have the most (if any) SA on it 1) you'll find out whenever AFPC figures it out. Keep checking with your training shop as they will be the first to get the word in your squadron (usually). You'll get a RIP that you'll sign, they send in, then orders. The RIP will have dates on it 2) Not sure about MFS, but in most cases the physical you do prior to the board is only to apply to the board, not for actual qualification 3) totally depends, it can happen both ways, just depends on dates and how you/AFOC work it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. 100% anecdotal...that may be true for 6-9 drops but it can/will change Plus I'm pretty sure that (in total) ENJJPT has dropped the most Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Academy grads do not do any MFS. You go straight to your UPT base. The FC1 you have to do to apply for the AD board is the only kind of screening you have to do post graduation Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  24. Not true. Academy grads do not as their graduation FC1 counts. I think there are a couple other cases who don't go as well Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk When you finish your FC1, it should be stamped "complete pending MFS" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
