Russian Ukraine shenanigans
Slow your roll bro...I made ZERO disparaging personal remarks about you or anyone else. And for the record, I can comprehend that multiple things can be true at the same time...keep in mind much of this is subjective. The point of diminishing returns is certainly subjective and probably tracks more closely with our national objectives. Relegating Russia to non-peer is definitely worth continued investment. Check the Economist and few other news sources that are now reporting on Russia's worsening economic issues. Inflation is now rampant and some think Putin has a tenuous grip on power. This is the great game and should be viewed that way instead of a simple fight in Ukraine.

USAFA Conscientious Objector
Shack...a truly maddening story from my time as an O-6 commander. GS-13 employee is in charge of processing security clearances at the wing...office was actually in the wing HQ. Dude has a severe drinking problem and had several documented issues with discipline actions but never a suspension. He leaves work each day around 1100 to go drink at the local VFW. Anonymous complainant turns him in and an investigation is opened. Dude has a very distinctive yellow Bumble Bee Camaro that is seen parked outside the VFW everyday for MONTHS on end. As I recall OSI documents 37 occasions where he completes his time card saying a full day of work but actually works four hours then spends the rest of the day drinking at the VFW....pictures, time stamps, the works for what should be a slam dunk case. Charges filed and process starts to fire him, he throws the "I am an alcoholic card" and goes into treatment...the union decides to protect him. Coming out of treatment he comes back to work but his security clearance is revoked and his position requires a clearance. Union fights for him all the way to SECAF who ultimately restores his clearance after him pushing papers as an admin for 18 months while someone else did his work. I am told he worked four more years then retired with his pension.

Russian Ukraine shenanigans
Concur...for pennies on the dollar Russia has been neutralized as peer adversary. I've said it many times, the impact of this war on the Russian population will last for generations. A U.S. think tank, not the Ukrainian propaganda machine, has estimated Russian losses as epic. They've lost 40 soldiers for every square mile of ground they have seized. Russia seized 1,600 square miles of Ukraine's territory in 2024 while losing 427,000 troops, ISW says

Smart got out smarted. UGA got a lot of breaks this year including the NCAA turning a blind eye when Kirby shoved a player from another team. Enjoy the humble pie Bulldogs. One thing is for certain, the CFP structure did NOT get the top four teams right...they ALL lost despite having a bye week. Any other coach would have been fined for this. This walk on player who has never played a down, cost UGA dearly, I wonder if he is on the team this morning?

USS Gettysburg downs Navy Hornet
More details are slowly leaking out... Dash 1 was the tanker with FIVE external tanks for a recovery evolution from what was an actual DCA mission. Dude has no countermeasures. Pilot and WSO observe Gettsyburg launch and come to the conclusion the missile is tracking them. Pilot preemptively ejects both. Dash two observes a second launch and begins defensive maneuvers down to 100' AGL. As noted LSO figures out what has happened and calls the boss to KIO.

USAA Epic Collapse
Great reviews, my wife did a ton of research. I have a lot of rentals/Airbnbs and I was surprised to find out they covered property as well. I've had great service with them, great website and a superb App. For $ management I have a local Credit union account for my local bills and cash access. I recently moved from Morgan Stanley to Well Fargo, have a couple of LLC accounts with them for my properties, also have my airplane in an LLC and have a checking account for that. I was not excited about the move but I followed my wealth manager who took an SVP position there and has done very well by me. At one point I was up 38% this year...We timed the top well a few weeks ago and pulled a bunch back, still up over 20% for 2024.

Not subjective, look at the stats I posted above. Other finalists didn't just exceed his stats, they set ALL TIME RECORDS. Purely a product of Coach Prime. Dude will not play both ways in the NFL.

College Football
Understood, but he had worse stats than the other three finalist THIS year.

He did turn the program around but they are not the powerhouse he professes the, to be. He made a stink about not being in the playoff and got stomped by BYU in the Alamo Bowl. With regard to the Heisman...that was all hype. Is Travis Hunter a good player, yes. However his number are mediocre. he can thank the Coach Prime Hype machine for his trophy. Travis Hunter Offense: 92 catches, 1,152 yards, 14 touchdowns; two carries, five yards, one touchdown Defense: 31 tackles, 11 pass breakups, four interceptions, one forced fumble Ashton Jeanty Rushing: 344 carries, 2,497 yards, 29 touchdowns, 7.3 yards per carry Receiving: 20 catches, 116 yards, one touchdown Dillon Gabriel Passing: 297 of 406 passing (73.2%), 3,558 yards, 8.8 yards per attempt, 28 touchdowns, six interceptions Rushing: 63 carries,192 yards, seven touchdowns Cam Ward Passing: 293 of 435 passing (67.4%), 4,123 yards, 9.5 yards per attempt, 36 touchdowns, seven interceptions Rushing: 58 carries, 196 yards, four touchdowns Receiving: One catch, 7 yards, one touchdown

USAA Epic Collapse
I have a bunch of houses and they would only insure one on Florida which started us down a bad path. Kept them for primary residence and they were going up but it was the car insurance that went through the roof. No accidents or tickets for 35 years. When we put our teen driver on they wanted $600 a month and that was with the good student discount. Called Auto Owners the next day, saved 40% and dropped USAA. Screw them!

Drug Testing Confidence
Have a bro who had his career ended by a poppy seed muffin. Dude was a stud aviator, carried the bag for a four star, multiple BPZ and was a genuine humble great human. He popped positive and a brand new One Star made it his mission in life to end him. He fought it and won...sort of. His JAG had the sample retested and they were able to prove the amount was minute, he even had the Sam's Club receipt for the muffins. Said One Star kept him in a holding pattern for two years and he lost his OG slot. He punched at 21 years and went to industry then started his own company. Now a Multi-millionaire so he won in the end....but USAF lost a great leader.

Tell us you are a chump hater who has never played ball without telling us.- College Football
NIL and the crazy rules after the NCAA lost the court case are destroying the game. Cam quit at halftime, just like most of the Noles quit last year before they even got to their bowl game. Something has to change, tie NIL payments to FINISHING the season, but it won't. it is not just a football problem either. Jim Larranaga left the Miami Basketball program this week and his comments are very telling on the turning point for him towards retirement: "After we went to the 2023 Final Four, eight players wanted to transfer or seek better NIL deals. They told me they loved it at Miami, but wanted to seek a better deal."- The Next President is...
While I don't enjoy some of the theatrics, at times they do serve a purpose. Most of the bluster is to force negotiation and in the case of Canada it kinda worked. Interestingly Canada was already feeling the immigration pain and has tightened the requirements for immigration to their country drastically. As Trump pointed out there has been a huge spike in people coming across the northern border and a threatened 25% tariff forced Trudeau to get on a place and fly to Mar A Lago. And if you think it is wrong to punk the future Canadian governor, good look at some of the things he said about Trump in the past. His comments has the same impact with Mexico, since the election they have suddenly detained 500,000 immigrants heading for the U.S. border. Right or wrong, it worked with NATO in the past and while I don't favor walking away from that alliance, a great number of the members were delinquent or not meeting their obligations.- China 6th Gen Fighter?
I wonder...they want to push power outwards and hold things at risk. A semi-stealthy missile truck with a crap ton of fuel seems a useful niche for the Chicoms.- China 6th Gen Fighter?
Interesting design...Hella big!- Trump's Cabinet

Much appreciated...I was actually approached by the local paper and a GOP group but I have no interest in playing that game. If I thought I could make a difference I would consider but the system is so broken. I believe Trump endorsed a Navy veteran, I think the son of a local guy who owns several car dealerships (Sansing), is also running and he will have Millions at his disposal. - College Football
