  1. Fulcrum's slinging HARM.
  2. I saw an article on Twitter, not posting it here until I see more information to confirm its authenticity but it was an interview with a doctor who claims mRNA fragments from vaccinated persons can be transferred to non-vaccinated persons through sexual or other close contact. If true, that is huge and something that was not supposed to happen.
  3. Of course but will the unions ever allow it. My grandparents are mostly blue collar workers from the northeast and as a child they attempted to indoctrinate me on the union way of life. Don't get me wrong, unions can serve a very important purpose, especially as a balance to unrestrained capitalism. That being said, modern unions have morphed into self-licking ice cream cones that don't serve the purpose of the worker. The investment in JRTOC and ROTC waxes and wanes with the times. I would bet with the current recruiting issues the investment will increase. I understand what you are saying but completely disagree when it comes to the rank argument. As has been pointed out by others, you can remove the JRTOC rank structure and the void will be filled by some other social construct, likely without supervision. Have their been problems, of course, but that is a natural distribution of bad people in society and I think there is value to an "official" framework, far better than the hunger games that will result in many of these under-resourced schools. Let's face it, that is the focus of military recruiting and has been for a long time. Minorities serve at a much higher rate than the current population distribution. Again, given the current recruiting issues, that distribution will likely increase. I understand your intent but the real issue is leadership and family structure. Debatable...the kid is wicked smart...sadly he looks just like me but he so smart I am wondering if the Fedex guy didn't make an extra stop while I was deployed. My kid is being recruited because of his academics and it is a bigger feeding frenzy than the process I went through when I was recruited but a large number of colleges to play football. Honestly I've never seen anything like it. He is only a sophomore and they are all over him. I have his email on my phone to keep an eye on things and he gets three or four emails every single day. He has been invited to summer dual enrollment programs at MIT and Georgetown this year. I haven't kept track of the smaller school but as of last month he had 28 major schools after him including Cornell, Georgetown, MIT, Vanderbilt and Miami. Enough with the dad flex, I am proud of him. I used to love Chicago, amazing city...now like most liberal run cities it has a lunatic mayor and one of the highest murder rates in the country. JROTC could be one of the pillars that helps kids find disciple and success but the overall underlying system has crumbled in Chicago. Add that to the impact of the family structure and you find the root of many problems. African America children in particular demonstrate how the lack of a family structure drastically increases the likelihood of a bad outcome.
  4. Exactly...he was losing that argument so he did a pivot to "the entire system is corrupt" then invoked Hitler...right out of the playbook.
  5. Dear god...participation trophies for everyone, lets get rid of AP and honors classes, lets all put on our homogenized Chairman Mao suits so we look and act the same for indoctrination. Have you even been around one of these programs lately? I've watched my son the past two years and it has been nothing but stellar, Christ he spent more hours (200+), doing community service last year in JROTC than he did in SGA. I am not sure what team sports you played but I played football and baseball all four years and there most certainly was a rank structure. From JV to Varsity, backup to starters and god forbid to team CAPTAINS...how dare they use that rank structure moniker! For me rank was neither a privilege nor a "burden", it was a responsibility and I learned that responsibility by working my way up. I was a team captain as a junior and I knew that meant every single practice and every single game.
  6. Maybe you could start the JR Woke leadership program in high schools to employ your theory? Dude...it is a military program, there is rank in the military, put the woke juice back on the shelf. This isn't TAPS with a bunch of Tom Cruise types in the window with a machine gun, it is simply JROTC. Is there anything sacrosanct in the woke world?
  7. Yes, he meant JRTOC ranks and I disagree. It is a military based leadership program that teaches both leadership and followership, there is a purpose to ranks in that model that has been proven over a thousand years.
  8. My son is doing Navy JROTC in high school (AF JROTC offered at the High School across town). Yesterday he came home and told me they announced they are doing away with all ranks in the name of equality. WTF?!? I am speechless, no more ranks in the military?

    Gun Talk

In case anyone is interested I got a note a few weeks ago saying CMP has a large lot of ammo they are going through and plan to soon release to the public.
  10. Watched a similar thing happen at Kunsan. We held int he EOR 45 minutes when another two ship of F-16's taxing out and decided to Leroy Jenkins down the runway...I will never forget the water spray off the nose wheel, it no shit looked like the Pilatus below, I could not believe the dude was launching. We aborted, taxied back, and went to the squadron. An hour and a half later we hear the two ship diverted to Kimhae due to weather (no shit!) Of course the weather was crap at Kimhae as well and the first aircraft ended up hydroplaning down the runway and taking the barrier. The second dude landed, hydroplaned and had to steer off the runway in order to avoid hitting the other aircraft still stuck in the barrier. The second dude struck the MA-1A chain and seriously forked up the underside of the jet, the engine and as I recall the ECM pod...Nice job for an IP. Didn't hurt his career, years later he ended up back in Korea as DO of the 35th, SQ/SS at Luke, Wing CV, ABW/CC before he was finally relieved...but that is a story for another day.
  11. My money guy called yesterday - "for the first time in 20 years I am recommending my clients put a portion of their wealth in CDs, if you have any cash I have some CDs that are paying 5%." 🤔
  12. I think everyone gets that, the question is does the pressure differential (.05 PSI), from 100' to 20' justify doubling the transit time to a trauma center.
  13. We are so bifurcated by the pundits that have to assume everything the other guy/girl does is wrong. I can't stand Biden, but he got this one right and I will certainly give credit where credit is due.
  14. IYKYK
  15. No Shit...I'd love for an actual doctor to share some knowledge. Is the pressure differential from 20' to 100' AGL enough to justify doubling the time it takes to transport a critically injured patient to a trauma center? Sounds like some serious buffoonery.
  16. The great game is always full of twists, turns and backroom deals. You just never know what the final outcome will be. I want Ukraine to regain it's pre-2014 invasion borders, partly because it honors our word, mostly because it will remove Putin from power and relegate him to the pile of failed despots and will likely stop any Russian aggression for a century. If you play long-ball, Russia failing could lead to several more generations of relative peace in Europe.
  17. Yes, we signed and gave security assurances. We should not examine what happened using today's optic. Rather, we should consider the environmental conditions at the time. The FSU crumbled rapidly and there was great concern over what would happen to those nukes. Of course there was fear the Senate wouldn't ratify a treaty to defend a former FSU territory and new country...they had just declared their independence in 1991! Regardless, we gave our word we would provide security assurances and without put American boot on soil in front of Russian soldiers I think we have done just that. I don't believe there was ever concern over the codes and operational control. It was about physical control as the Soviet Union fell apart. As you know there were many efforts (some that never made the press), to get custody of the weapons (and nuclear cores), to prevent them from falling into the wrong hands i.e Iran, North Korea, the black market. Bottomline, much like Afghanistan if we fail to keep our word with Ukraine, why would anyone ever trust us again.
  18. The Great Power game, don't play checkers when others are playing chess. And? Possession is 9/10ths...The FSU was in disarray and the agreement took them out of play, a HUGE win.
  19. Behold lads and lasses, a legend is born with the best Selfie ever! Free beers for life my friend!
  20. Respect your opinion but I think you are wrong for a host of reasons. 1. While not a treaty, in 1994 we negotiated and signed the Budapest Agreement. We promised to provide security for Ukraine in exchange for them giving up the third largest nuclear weapons stockpile in the world. This agreement made the world safer for almost 30 years. Were you upset when we threw our promise to Afghanistan away and fled in the middle of the night? We gave our word and at some point if we want to be respected as a world leader we have to honor our word. 2. For pennies on the dollar of our annual DoD budget we have enabled Ukraine to bleed a near-peer Superpower and relegate them to chump status. Russia has taken STAGGERING losses. Putin's grand plan to rebuild the Soviet Union died on the battlefield of Ukraine. A lot of independent agencies have validated Russian losses. Russia started the war with 3,000 operational tanks, in just over a year over 1,000 have been destroyed and a further 500 captured. Half of their armor gone...HALF. The UK Defense ministry estimates Russia has lost 200,000 soldiers in the war with Ukraine, with 60-80,000 of those being KIA. I almost feel guilty for the average Russian soldier who was lied to by a despot dictator. My sympathy ended when they started murdering civilians. This conflict and our $113B investment has humbled Russia for generations to come. I can't stand this administration for breaking our word to the Afghans and running away during the night but I applaud them for holding the line against Russia. I think this also sends a strong message to China. Again, all of pennies on the dollar and no blood from American soldiers (minus people who volunteered to go fight).
  21. Supreme Court for first time casts doubt on Section 230, the legal shield for Big Tech
  22. Video/Audio of the shootdown and post mission post mission walk around. For those who were around during the No-Fly Zones it was a daily cat and mouse as the Iraqi's flew right up to and at times across the line at speed followed by a quick turn back. There were multiple efforts to place shooters in the right place at the right time with the ability to engage and kinematically get a missile into position to kill a high fast flyer. A bit of a delay and double take confirming clearance to fire resulted in a two mile shot, highest PK possible? Assuming the missile was pitbull right off the rail.
