  1. I can't testify to the entire base but I did track down one of the crew members who was transiting Dover. They were supposed to download and fuel then return to their home base after coming from overseas. They ended up crewresting at Dover because it took so long to test the entire crew and others. 2. The shear logistics and cost to perform a mass urinalysis just to catch less than .1% defies any cost benefit analysis. Big Blue is really desperate to get rid of people. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
  3. Did anybody hear about the mass piss test they did at Dover to include transit aircrews coming from overseas? Full disclosure this was beer talk at Ramstein with other aircrews so it might have been exaggerated. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
  4. The Joint Base Elemdorf/whatever had a pretty nice BX and they sell guns! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
  5. You can download this and other photos as .tiff's from the Library of Congress FSA (Farm Security Administration) these are 4x5 color slides shot with a large format camera using Kodachrome. I have one picture of B-24 that I downloaded and you can zoom in and read the serial numbers on the fuselage ribs! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
  6. Check out the art work of Mike Shampine. He's a C-17 ART pilot and former loadmaster who does artwork as well: https://www.etsy.com/shop/MikeShampine Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
  7. It seems that overseas Air Force bases is less about a place to support aircraft and their missions, and more about checking the box for a 2 year overseas assignment. If I had it my way I would turn over places like Ramstein to the Germans and have them run the day to day operations and have 90 day rotations for the maintenance and trans alert. 8. Yea, it looks like the damage is all the way up to the demarcation of the old radome. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk 2
  9. So far our unit has not put any restrictions on UTA's for traditional's in fact I can make up all the ones I missed being on TACC orders. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
  10. I wonder which picture they would pick if it was between Trevon Martin or George Zimmerman. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
  11. Yea, no kidding. And that link is kinda wrong, it takes you to the end of the process, you have to start the process in VP-CRG. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
  12. I don't have the pics, only saw them, they haven't been released to the public. Check with your safety office they might have them. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
  13. I finally saw pictures of the damage and it looks like the visor is gone! I don't know if a visor can be replaced with one from another aircraft or not but I don't think the crews have to worry about being put in bravo! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
  14. I found the answer, you go to this web site and upload your qualifing orders: https://gum-crm.csd.disa.mil/app/processes/form/fn/hrrpp
  15. Supposedly the wingtip of one C-5 cut through the visor of the other one. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
  16. I heard some rumors at the KMC sports bar that two C-5M's collided during taxi and another C-17 landed short at Dover. There might have been some beers consumed by various crew members at said bar so I don't know how true either of these incidents are.
  17. vMPF does show in your points summary a breakdown of AD, IDT, etc. but as far as I know it doesn't track the type of AD you did to qualify for the rollback. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
  18. Back in the days when I used AOL I used to get nonsensical rambling emails like this all the time. Never did figure out what it was about. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
  19. Here's some more information on the program: https://usmilitary.about.com/od/guardandreserve/a/earlyretirement.htm Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
  20. Has anyone getting ready to retire had their age 60 rollback calculated by MPF? Did they do it correctly? Or did you have to dig out every set of orders you ever did since 2008? On another note there is a change to allow the age 60 rollback to go as far back as age 50 now, not 55. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
  21. You mean hundreds of airman running around in their PT gear while the crew chiefs and locals do all the work will have to find someplace else to "deploy" for their career progression, say it ain't so! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
  22. No clothing allowance for enlisted in the Guard or Reserve. We would have to get ABUse issued provided there's funding for them. Not sure about the Officers in the Guard since there's no clothing sales on Guard bases. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
  23. If this is true it's about time! Flying a C-5/C-17 to some off station so the crew can do nothing but run around in the chem masks all so the Wing CC can check off a box on his/her career requirement is crazy! During these ORIs I've never seen anyone actually practice on how to decontaminate a heavy airlifter inside or out to a level that the Europeans would allow you to fly it over their airspace! (after all they are terrified of Genetically Modified corn)
  24. I guess I'm jaded after 30 years of service but the timing of this smells fishy, especially since we just found out Iran fired on one of our drones over international waters five days ago!
  25. Sanctuary applies to the AD as well. Basically what it says if you reach the 18-20 year point in your career, the military can't suddenly RIF you to screw you out of your retirement to save money. (At some point they most have been doing this to create this law) unless for some reason you wanted to get out at the 18 year point. For the Guard and Reserve they put into place a set of policys on how to adopt this to ANG/AFRC (and other services). I for example have accumlated 18 years of AD points (not reserve or guard points) Any time I do some sort of mission that's MPA/title 10 ( sort of like the AD renting or contracting out a ANG/AFRC to fly a mission) I have to sign a waiver saying I will not claim sanctuary. If however I get involuntary called up or mobilized I can declare sanctuary and serve out my remaining time on AD and recieve a AD retirement once I serve my time as opposed to getting my retirement at age 60 for ANG/AFRC. Sanctuary can be a confusing policy and Big Blue isn't exactly handing out color brochures or creating a course on ALDS to teach you the ins and outs of sanctuary!
