  1. Thought the cop-killer saga was over, but now not quite.
  2. Yep, walking around with your hands in your pockets is totally akin the to airworthiness of an airplane. You just can't make this stuff up.
  3. Funny thing is that the Army (until this change) is the only service where a woman theoretically couldn't be CoS. Even the USMC has an aviator as their Commandant right now, which isn't a position closed to women. Kind of thought the rank argument was a bit weak given you can generally obtain a high rank in non-combat positions (albeit there will probably be less opportunities than if you did come from a combat arms background).
  4. Corporatizing rank structure/getting rid of year groups is a pretty bold suggestion.
  5. The comment from the plantiffs' lawyer in the first case implied that there was a dispute over whether the pavilion was public or private property. Not sure if the 2nd case is really an instance of government overreach, either: if the Church wants to buy and sell assets in the public market, they're susceptible to laws that come with it (unless there isn't a law preventing them from discriminating on who they sell to).
  6. I've seen people talking about point 2--think Brown will win the special election?
  7. Looks like he's been picked for State instead.
  8. ^^Would love to know where that came from
  9. Not really surprising if you've read into her a bit. She seems like a real "winner" too, to say the least.
  10. Which is why I think this organization (if you can even call it that) is less about an ideology and more about "HURR I JUST TOOK DOWN THE GOVERNMENT OF ISRAEL'S SERVERS LAWL!"
  11. +1, too bad it looks like she might have been a bit nuts, too.
  12. This is just suck all around.
  13. Clearly referring to the guy with his sleeves rolled up.
  14. Let's throw out Pakistan altogether. NK's rhetoric is probably worse than Iran, but no one pays them any attention because it's on a different level of nuttery. I think you're reading too much into what Iran says for the masses and what they'd actually do in a no-shit situation where they were facing a military attack. Try and mess with the Strait of Hormuz? Maybe. Actually nuke someone (assuming they had the capability)? Doubtful.
  15. What makes you say that?
  16. Lived in Aurora a couple of years ago and went to this theater regularly. Was shocked to hear the news this morning. RIP to those killed and speedy recovery to the wounded.
  17. Funny thing about those new air defenses the Russians gave them: https://blog.foreignpolicy.com/posts/2012/06/22/the_best_thing_ever_written_about_syrian_air_defenses I don't think anything comes of this. Turkey's current leadership doesn't want to get involved in anything that would force it to call in the rest of NATO. This might be Syria's 2nd strike in the "misunderstanding" game, though.
  18. To bomb their own people. They said Syria already apologized, not sure this one will escalate.
  19. Wouldn't get too excited, her lover will probably look like Thor.
  20. Combating the stupidity of this one by playing the victim card yourself. Nice.
