  4. Or timeframe dependent. I retired 6 months ago and the doctors retired 4 or 5 yrs before I did. And these weren’t flight docs, they were pilots that were civilian docs. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

  10. Well I just came off training pay, so anything is a rather large pay raise. But I would prefer the new rate to be in effect now rather than later. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

  12. A very good friend of mine is a Radiologist and retired from the ANG a few years ago. She misses flying, so she decides to throw her hat in the ring and has been hired by a regional. She plans to continue practicing medicine while flying. I believe her eventual goal is to get hired by a major. But nice to have medicine to supplement her income. 13. Just flew into Hong Kong earlier this week. Granted we only did a turn, download and upload. We don’t over night there now, may change later. No issues. Locals were masked up but friendly. No interaction with officials. Had 36 or so hours off in Incheon, which is where we typically RON. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app
  14. Clean house up there. This is embarrassing and ridiculous. Looks like I retired at the right time. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app
  15. Always take a day of the weekend completely off. No better way to enjoy that day off than flying your own airplane. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

  18. The training center scheduling is a nightmare. I waited 5 days between rec ride and checkride. I am now waiting on scheduling to put my last 4 events on the schedule so I can finally go home. Been here 81 days and counting. Looking forward to hitting the line. My observation flight renewed my enthusiasm for getting out of here. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

  24. One of the greatest things about the ANG is being in the same place for all 20 years. That said, there are plenty of opportunities to go around, especially in the coming years as the airline hiring ramps up. Our OG receives opportunities all the time for random assignments. There are even more to be found if you seek them out. Not long ago, they were seeking volunteers to go to EUCOM for a 3-year AD assignment just to fill a pilot position (ie...not a staff job/embassy job/etc...). There are other opportunities for 30 day, 90 day, 180 day and 365 day assignments here and there. I was looking at a 180 days to Hickam...then I got my airline job so it didn't pan out. Another thing that is a great option is the State Partnership Program. Basically every state has a partner country or two and we have officers who fills a full time billet in each country as a part of that program. A UPT buddy did this gig in Estonia and absolutely loved it. Our two partner countries would be amazing assignments. I considered applying for it, but again the airlines called. It's mostly a sleepy little assignment with LOTS of opportunity to travel...you just have to wear your blues occasionally. 🤮 I did SPP for 4 yrs, 2 in country and then 2 as the Director at JFHQ. This was my entry point into the AGR program. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app
  25. 29 yrs in the ANG, visited over 50 countries, worked in an Eastern European Embassy for 2 years. ANG HQ is in DC area with plenty of opportunity for assignment. You can do volunteer assignments in all places you listed. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app
