  1. Since it’s paid in arrears now (annually), is there a payback requirement? Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app
  2. The ATP is the reason I’m looking at possibly doing a stint in the regionals. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app
  3. Hacker, Were your $ struggles at the regionals while drawing retirement pay? I saw so.it.goes’ post about regional pay increase, but was curious if your experience included USAF/ANG retirement pay. I am getting ready to get current/qualified back in an a mil jet after toiling away in the RPA world for about 6 yrs. I am currently AD retirement eligible-hanging around mainly to get current/qualified again and I’m told I’m needed to help out a bit. Once c/q, I plan on applying to the airlines and not retiring until hired. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app
  4. Not sure of the payout % or stats but I know wings that have gotten it consistently and others that it varies month to month. All depends on the avenues and the pressure applied to squadrons to get everyone to pay on time. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app
  5. Each wing gets their own. It’s lost for the month if someone on base is over 60 days overdue. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app
  6. I’m an ANG baby and we were closer when we flew herks. Once we switched to MQ-9s, we spent so much time together at work every single day that we didn’t do as much together outside. But when we get the large group together for namings, promotions, or retirements, then it feels like old times. But nothing helps build camaraderie like going on the road together. I’ve never been in an AD squadron for other than training and some deployments so I can’t speak to them. But some of my ANG bubbas are like brothers to me. I have called the ANG my 2nd family many times and I meant it every single time. I’ve known many of these folks for almost 27 years and I would do anything for them. 7. I knew him at Corpus. I was there in 2003. He got me into BO then. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app
  8. At least you didn’t say his name Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app
  9. Maybe they have finally cracked the code. A few old Ops folks were over there, but I don’t think any of them would be SSgt still. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app
  10. Doesn’t Vaseline take care of chafing? Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app
  11. I think it’s more the monkey and the football situation Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app
  12. I am so tired of this PC culture. They literally tweeted about what they get paid for and people freak out. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app
  13. For some reason I think the TAG has a say in this. So it would vary state to state. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app
  14. I think this should be the case with any discussion Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app
  15. We, as ANG, have to make sure the TAGs know that the ARNG and ANG are different. Most TAGs are Army and don’t understand the ANG and don’t care to learn (which is a shame). The ATAG has to be a vocal advocate. Your ANG pilots will walk if they are involuntarily sent somewhere. As I said earlier, I haven’t seen it happen yet, but I know too many bros that stay onboard because they control their own fate. Take that away and they are gone. Not worth the hassle. 16. Good thread idea. Let’s get the info out as we hear about it. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app
  17. Almost 27 years in ANG and I’ve never seen this happen. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app
  18. Isn’t it 6 months? Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app
  19. I grew up in the Herk and had a nickname I was given at Nav school. Really only used by the guys I played softball with, but carried it thru UPT and beyond. Wasn’t given an official callsign until we switched to MQ-9s and I was a Lt Col. Now everyone knows me by my callsign. It’s all about your community. 20. Don’t ever remember it happening in Tweets Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app
  21. I don’t remember having namings during UPT. Does this happen during Tones/-38 or T-6’s? Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app
  22. You could see this coming from a mile away Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app
  23. Unbelievable. I can’t believe this is an official USAF video. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app
  24. I have 2 great uncles that fought in the Battle of the Bulge. 1 is still alive. I went to Bastogne 10 years or so ago and took a bunch of pictures for him. Amazing to have him tell stories when he saw the pics. He heard his brother was there as well and went to find him. Found each other, shared a frozen K ration for Christmas dinner, and then went back to their units. One uncle was riding on a tank the next day and they came under German artillery fire, knocking him off the tank and unconscious. Woke up and only heard German voices. Played dead until he heard English voices again. Not sure how long he was out there. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app
  25. Up $186 for an O-5 in Nashville. Housing market here has skyrocketed over the last 3-5 yrs, the BAH is kinda keeping up (ok maybe it’s just going up) Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app
