Didn’t he say he was a DO at an AETC base? I really hope he was a troll. If not, I hate to see the squadron. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

Out of curiosity, what’s his background? Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

I also thought it was odd when they said the WG/CC and WG/CV were not available when the board was asking questions. Is that unusual? Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

All units keep their bar stocked on the back of applicants. Live with it. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

A lot depends on the unit. My old wing, where I was a member for over 26 years, never had a DSG that I know of retire with an AD retirement. Other wings in the state have. Talked to FSS at my new wing last week and they had done 2 in the past few years. It all depends on the mission. Old wing is now RPAs and they have to adapt to the changes. I know someone that will soon press-to-test. Wish him the best and he should, without a doubt, receive it since he has earned it. I also know of other states where DSGs have gotten AD retirements. We are Eastern Europe as well, NATO and EU members. And actually SPP=State Partnership Program. The Peace part went away in the 90s. New focus and most recent additions have been in Africa. Have fun with that. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

No, he meant BAO-Bilateral Affairs Officer. It’s an SPP position and it’s awesome. Similar to FAO, but doesn’t have all of the training requirements. I was one for 2 years from 2008-2010. One of the coolest things I’ve ever done. I had an office in the Embassy and an office in the Ministry of Defense. I travelled thru out the country and it rocked. Met my wife, who was also working in the Embassy. Can’t say enough good things about being a BAO. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

Damn, I would have had the same demeanor as Kavanaugh if I was being accused of the same as him. They were personal attacks and I don’t blame him for vehemently rebutting them. He’s supposedly never had any issues with demeanor previously while on the bench and I don’t expect that he will have any in the future. I can’t imagine he’ll receive any such treatment while in the SCOTUS courtroom. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

I’m reading my ANG Wing’s FAQ on OCP wear. Q. Will aircrew also wear the two-piece flight suit version of the OCP? A. The Army Aircrew Combat Uniform, or A2CU, is certified for wear in non-ejection seat aircraft. Aircrews flying non-ejection seat aircraft, including rotary wing and mobility aircrews, will be issued this uniform through their normal equipment issue process. Many aircrews in U.S. Air Forces Central Command and Air Mobility Command are already wearing the A2CU. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

There’s still a required no longer than length of beard with a waiver. I made someone trim it up into reg after last CC call. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

I guess every unit does it different. We have always talked to the prospects and let them visit/hang out. We announce our boards thru Recruiting, who puts out the formal announcement that we write. Using Recruiting allows us to screen folks even more since all ANG ascensions have to pre-qualify and the recruiters are the expert there. When we write the announcement, we put our requirements in there as well as the recruiters putting the basic requirements in. We let them compile the packets and then we decide who we want to interview. Keeps a lot of extra work off our plates and leta the folks that are the experts in the paperwork do their job. [emoji115] Recruiters are just the clearing house for the apps, making sure everything is in there. Once deadline is closed and they compile the packets, they pass them to the squadron. Once the board selects the candidates, the selectees are put back into contact with the recruiters to get more paperwork completed and to be ushered along in the enlistment/commissioning process.
