  1. No one would ever complain
  2. I guess that depends on your location.
  3. A CTP would be great for the RPA community, but what do you do with the 18X guys? They don't come out of URT with enough hours to get a PPL. I would think this would cause a some issues for leadership IRT keeping everyone happy. Maybe an in-squadron qualification program? I would think a T-6 type aircraft would be ideal.
  4. Look Lt- a mentorship moment here, quit trying to have the last word. Keep the positive attitude, but shut your mouth.
  5. So you want to hire folks strictly off a piece of paper and a 1 hr interview?
  6. The answers to your list of questions have been covered ad nauseum on these forums, so UTSF. As for your dilemma, if it has been your lifelong dream to fly manned airplanes, then I think you should have your answer.
  7. He flew with us a few years ago. Super nice dude!
  8. If someone has offered to sponsor you, why wouldn't you accept? Why not go for the sure thing, instead of the gamble.
  9. You have to be submitted for the PV promotion, by your CC I believe.
  10. We definitely check the bro network
  11. The 118th OG will have a Pilot (18X)/URT Hiring Board 7 Nov 15. We will likely hire 2 candidates. This board is for both non-prior and prior service members, to include rated Navigators or Combat System Operators that want to cross train to 18X. You can PM me with questions or contact MSgt Ron Hartley, 118th WG recruiter, Ronald.f.hartley.mil@mail.mil. Packets need to be submitted NLT 31 Oct 15. 118 OG Commissioning Packet.pdf
  12. It seems like it has gone smoothly for our guys. Once they were released by their original unit, we were able to gain them immediately. Also seemed to be the case with a recent USAFR transfer. Now, the Navy transfers have been pretty drawn out. Usually tied to issues of cutting the AO. Not exactly sure why.
  13. We've had numerous transfer to us. What's your question?
  14. Good question and I don't have an answer for it. My guess is that it comes down to money. They didn't get many UPT slots-I believe that may be 3rd one I have heard of. I've been out of that game for a little bit now, so things may have changed as well.
  15. The BAF Vice Chief of Staff is a huge proponent of UPT. A few yrs ago, I escorted him and his staff out to Randolph, Laughlin, and Little Rock to see first hand how we train. He was a big fan before, but even more so after the trip. And the bulk of their helos fall under the AF.
  16. A very sick bastard
  17. What he did pull off was a heinous crime. At least money won't be wasted with a trial.
  18. I can't imagine that you would be accepted for UPT with a washout from the RPA program. I have no idea about the others.
  19. I have always gotten mine in the anniversary month of signing, which is what was stated in the agreement when I signed it. So read your paperwork.
  20. Then they should be crushed accordingly. It's a failure of the system if those types graduate with that attitude. And the instructors should be held accountable.
  21. The RPA program has its purpose and does it well. The training is not remarkably different between the Guard and AD, if at all.
