  1. Stop feeding the troll. It obviously pays zero attention.
  2. Just announced the obvious, Blues will not fly the airshow here this wknd. Prayers for Capt Kuss and his family
  3. I don't even ask if you were passed over. Only know if you tell me. Mainly only care if you have a clean record and you check out thru bro network/guys in the squadron like you.
  4. Well then listen here Major to this mentoring opportunity- soften the rhetoric, learn from the guys that are hacking the mission, establish informed opinions, and then form those opinions into workable solutions that will help/change "experienced" bros lifestyles. If you want to come on here and spout "Leadership 101", then you need to practice it yourself. Learn about the topic or experience the lifestyle personally before you berate the guys that are or have lived it.
  5. We called them pigeons-you had to throw rocks to get them to fly.
  6. As a Guard guy, I don't have a dog in this fight, but how can you completely disregard what the disenfranchised group of people are telling you? How can you not listen to them when they explain how to help alleviate some of your manning problems? I think you get it completely wrong when you say their happiness is a nonfactor. Big Blue may not be corporate America, but employee satisfaction is important. This is the AIR Force. Whether you like it or not, pilots are a crucial part of what the AIR Force is all about. I truly hope your comments are not representative of AFPC, but after following this thread from the beginning and over 2200 posts, nothing that has come out of there has proven otherwise. God help those on AD.
  7. I don't see this happening. They can't even come up with a companion aircraft. It doesn't look like NGB is sending any UPT slots to RPA units, at least none that I have seen recently (past yr or so). So, the 11 pool will be shrinking. Plus, there is so much demand and not enough assets now. Can't imagine this changing any time soon either.
  8. This can cause big problems if you wind up detained OR if a border agent happens to see multiple passports. Never take your blue passport when on official travel. Never take your official passport on personal travel. Having them and presenting them are 2 different things.
  9. I agree with everything you are saying. What about the people who are on the other side of the world or can't make it to the unit more than once or not at all due to those circumstances? What if said person has a great resume and recommendations, and your unit is in their home town? Are people like that not going to get hired? Not just by sending a piece of paper. We want to meet you and talk to you face-to-face. The resume and recs may get you in the door, but we will not hire you based on that alone. If you are "on the other side of the world", we will talk to you on the phone and cut you some slack, but we will not hire you without meeting you. Would you?
  10. Good advice. Like I said before I've actually gone to several units and spent some time with them. Everything was positive and I did my best to be humble and not have an attitude. What I am seeing though is that it seems like a lot of the slots are either unofficially already filled before the process is over or they are just hiring their bros or people that they already knew from before. I honestly can't blame anyone for doing that. What I am saying is that it doesn't look like there are so many guard/reserve jobs out there that units can't get them all filled like some people have been saying. We want to see the desire to be in the unit. As my spiel goes to those that visit-we look at it as if you are joining our family. 1 visit isn't going to cut it. We are also going check you thru the bro network. Think of it as rushing a frat. If we constantly see your face, then we know you really want to be part of our unit, not just shot gunning out apps and phone calls to see if anyone bites. One of our last hires said he was stumped at the interview when we asked him to tell us something about him we didn't know. He stumbled because he had been at the squadron so much he thought he had told us everything. That's the level of determination we are looking for. We want you to be around for 10-15 or so yrs, so we are going to make sure you fit in. And you should be sure we are going to fit in for you as well. Never forget it's a 2 way relationship.
  11. I always carried all of my passports when traveling, still do. Would typically use blue passport when on personal travel and the others when on official travel. When I worked at an Embassy, I always used my black passport when traveling to/from/within my assigned country.
  12. Standby for announcement from 118th. Still trying to decide on date.
  13. Can you post your Excel spreadsheet? I would like to share it with my technicians.
  14. They did have an RC-26. Not sure if they still do, but that could be the reason for the 11U.
  15. Trolling 2 threads now?
  16. Everyone I know of is going URT. The last guidance I saw from NGB was that it was to be URT unless unit also has manned assets. That is a few months old though. It appears to change on a regular basis
  17. My position is that you need to STFU and listen to the advice folks on here are giving you. One position of mine is that I am a Baseops Moderator and have noticed that you are very lippy and seem to have a comment on just about everything. Over 100 posts in a month.
  18. Also, you are not considered prior service.
  19. Guardian- stop asking other folks to qualify their positions or state their airframe when you refuse to do so yourself. RPAs are not hard to "fly".
  20. No commission past 35 or 37, forget which one, unless a medical officer. We were told to not even attempt to ask for a waiver, as it would be denied. Not sure what the enlistment age limit is.
  21. So no respect for your T-1 bros. Only list the new plane that was in the drop.
  22. Around here, AWC has always been required for O-6.
  23. I have this watch, and the 2 previous versions. I totally agree with all stated above. Citizen makes great watches. I also have the Omega Speedmaster and my Citizens are comparable for a much cheaper price. The Omega is for passing down, so now I need to get another so my youngest has one as well.
