While he's leaving things, maybe he should leave the "ranks" he also despises!

Not sure what squadrons you have been in, but I would have to say that my experience is the complete opposite. The guys I fly with are some of the best people I know. There have been a few that were not stand up citizens, they are far outweighed by those great people. Maybe that is the advantage of a Guard unit, and that is over a 20+ yr flying career.

I would recommend pinning on AD. You would likely be delayed in pinning if you came to the ANG without it.

Navy Jet Attrite to ANG? AF Reserves?
Can't provide a reg quote (because I'm too lazy to go digging for the info), but I seem to remember that a DOR would prevent you from getting another flying position in the ANG. Don't remember/know how a failure out of a program would affect you. Years ago, we had a guy come to us that had washed out of F-15s due to the inability to inflight refuel. Age could be an issue, but it appears that you have already completed a UPT type program with the Navy, is that correct? If that is the case, you might be ok to attend an FTU. I will let other more knowledgeable folks pick it up from here.

Reapers on the Border
You checked their website? Requirements: · U.S Citizen · Under 40 years of age · Successfully complete a thorough background investigation and drug test · Pass a FAA class 1 flight physical · Hold a valid Commercial Pilots license with an Instrument rating and other rating(s) appropriate to the position to be filled · Total Flight Time 1500 hours ** · Pilot-In-Command (PIC) 250 hours · Night Flying 75 hours · Manned Flight Time, Last 12 Months 100 hours · Qualified Predator-B pilot (Predator-A qualification will be considered) * UAV/UAS time does not count towards flight hour minimums ** One half the total flight time may be waived My question is how are they going to handle any USAF/ANG MQ-9 guys that get out/retire? The sticking point will either be age or the manned flt hours requirement. I realize this is due to the fact that you are also qualified to fly manned aircraft. So, I wonder if there is going to be an RPA only position in the future? I am also a little interested since I am approaching retirement and the wife would like to move to FL when I do. Looks like they fly them out of Cocoa Beach and that would be ideal.

Boston Marathon Bombing
The one "lookout" has a much heavier jacket on than anyone else in that photo. Makes me think of all the lessons and lectures about suicide bombers. Maybe that crowd was luckier than we could have imagined. I hope we get these shitheads soon!

Graduate School and the ANG
I don't see any issues in what you want to do. I was an enlisted flyer prior to commissioning. There is very little doubt that it helped me get the slot. I was called while working in Stan/Eval and interviewed on the spot. Found out later that day that I was selected. This is not typical. I just happened to be in the right place at the right time.

Reserve positions for officers over 20 years
Both guys in my squadron are 0-5's that got the waiver to surpass 28 yrs.

Reserve positions for officers over 20 years
I do not believe you can retire off AD and then draw a paycheck from the Reserves (will do a little research and get back to you). Is the full-time portion as an AGR? The 28 yrs rule also applies to the Reserves, but, as usual, a waiver can be granted if leadership feels they want you to hang around (we currently have 2 in my squadron, 1 full-time and 1 part-timer). I am sure there are other pitfalls, but cannot think of any off the top of my head. Edit: added AGR question
