Ho-ly shit. That is not going to be good for anyone. In case you don't know, we have some real winners wearing O-6 rank on AD.
-
Seemed like it was more so the case in AFRC from what I had been hearing.
-
That's good to hear about the latest gen of patches in your community. I guess with regard to the other part of your post about the checkride, I'm glad you guys were able to get training out of it. In my community, there were/are so many required items in a checkride profile that there really is never time for that...even more so now with reduced sortie durations.
-
Is the "AD-lite" mentality predominantly staying out of ANG units? Of course with the exception in this thread...
-
It will be interesting to see how quickly it happens. I'm not a tanker guy, but it seems like that big of a loss to capability would want to slow-rolled, but then again that would mean maintaining the fleet infrastructure and therefore continuing to spend money for that much longer.

Study: Nuclear Force Feeling 'Burnout' from Work
Champ Kind replied to M2's topic in General Discussion
What's the vibe on the new GSC/CC? He was my wing/CC in Tweets. -
I think the best SEFEs are those that look at themselves primarily still as instructors but can complete Form 8s, too.
-
Doesn't make it right.

So much wrong there man. One of the best pilots you've flown with but would "wear you out" on a checkride? WTF? It's your checkride. Fly the profile and show you can accomplish your mission without blatant disregard for regs and without damaging equipment or killing anyone. Any EP adding to that is a DOUCHEBAG. As far as your comments on patch wearers in your community... wow man. Doesn't seem very "humble approachable or credible" if your young guys try to avoid them because they are such pricks. That's a total shame and contrary to what that school should be producing.

Seeing the same thing -- also noticed it occurred after our AFNET migration.

Hence why I said know the assumptions. No shit you can't always meet them, especially since most takeoffs that I know of in non-VSTOL fixed wing acft start at a speed around zero. I'm saying the definition, assumptions, and what can happen to you are not all that cosmic to understand... even for me.
-
With the way AD is trying to get out of the C-130 E/H business I can't imagine they wouldn't be willing to approve PC for Navs.
-
What is there to understand? There are a set of assumptions in determining the speed, and one should know the speed and avoid maneuvering below it if at all possible.

Aviation Continuation Pay (ACP - The Bonus)
Champ Kind replied to Toro's topic in General Discussion
Oh yeah, that. Probably not going to happen. And if it does, it will be nothing ground-breaking. You know, like that comprehensive review of the PT program he directed that didn't really change much. I've said it before... I had such high hopes. He seemed like the real deal. -
Jesus Tapdancing Christ. How about someone just says, "Hey how were we doing SOS three years ago? Ok, blow the dust off and let's do that again." The USAF: making shit more difficult than it needs to be since 1947.

Liquid, your remarks are truly representative of the AF at-large. I say that because I find myself casually nodding in agreement at some of the things you say, only to read some of your true gems and find myself wanting to smash my screen because of your absolute disconnection with reality... much like a number of policies/talking points I see coming from upper management. The only thing that will keep me from punching is more good bosses like the one I have now. That's it. Other than that, this organization has become just like any other "job" out there--the fun has largely been sucked out of it. I'm not even buying the "working with good dudes" part anymore. I'll make other buddies elsewhere. You characterize it that way yourself by repeatedly calling it "work". It used to be called a "squadron". Now its a "workplace". I would actually take a pay cut if that means I have the ability to control my own future. And no, I'm not necessarily one of the "disgruntled employees" that you and your peers would write off. I've actually done/am doing pretty well so far, but hearing the Big Blue spin of guys are getting out because they are "bored" boggles my mind. How about "our organization has trampled these guys for 12+ years with ops tempo and stupid ass rules... Hard work has been rewarded with more hard (and mindless, queepy) work. ...now they are seeing the light." Yeah, much more realistic. Your all-volunteer force has been getting worked over and getting kicked in the junk in the name of service to God and country for too long now. People just aren't buying it anymore. Good luck trying to make it more attractive to new accessions in the future and trying to sway those guys on the fence as those ADSCs run out. -
Hey man, you're the one inbound for school. Help us fix it in a couple of years. Please.

I had and still have such high hopes for this CSAF, but it really seems like there is a great deal of separation between reality and his perceptions (or at least the truth he's being fed and subsequently speaking to). -
C-17 4-engine flameout/SIB/FEB questions in here
Champ Kind replied to a topic in General Discussion
No argument the system is jacked up, especially since he used SIB data for the FEB. Just wondering if you had any personal goals associated with the IG complaint. Good on you. I wouldn't be able to say "SEEE YA" fast enough to the AF. -
My interpretation of the SIB led me to believe that the main thing to focus on was how the plane entered the stall in the first place.

What are you hoping to achieve as a result of the complaint, Day Man? -
It's PSDM 13-111 for those of you searching.
-
^This. Try explaining to the IG why having something like "unlimited potential" on your push is effectively a career killer.
-
But isn't the Kiowa an observation helicopter (OH)? I thought the "R A" in RAH-66 stood for "reconnaissance/attack"... as in more than one role.
-
So the army's multi role aircraft that was too big to fail...until it turned out that it wasn't...wound up paying for upgrades to three other airframes. In today's fiscal environment, when supposedly nothing is "off the table", how is that not an argument for jettisoning the F-35B yesterday?
