  1. Leadership - Check Joint Interoperability - Check Warfare Theory - Check Doctrine - Check Oh, and you're actually learning these things by planning and executing versus a strictly academic environment. Also, say what you want about some patch wearers, but they don't exactly just let any joe blow have the opportunity to attend the training. Someone post the desired learning objectives of ACSC and I'll bet you can apply them (and more) to the WIC... the main difference being that, contrary to WIC, the ACSC curriculum crams 6 months of blue Kool Aid into a year.
  2. So if Big Blue wants to get creative with IDE credit, why shouldn't Weapons School graduates receive it?
  3. Man, the AF really makes me want to kick a puppy sometimes.
  4. Saw something about it posted on here weeks ago (maybe months...they say sense of time is the first thing to go), but it was only on here. Never at work.
  5. Thanks. Never saw this trickle down to the working man's level. Anyone actually been briefed what Liquid said by upper mgmt at their bases? I don't doubt you, but it does suck that if I hadn't read it on BODN, I would have never heard about it.
  6. Shack. One of the best emails I saw this year was a solicitation (ahem, tasker) from 18 AF seeking inputs regarding its role and heritage in order to commemorate the anniversary of its reactivation. WTF? You have to ask??
  7. So, other than "General Chang" running his cake hole, has anyone seen/heard anything definitive from reliable sources on the rumor that IDE opportunities for candidates (non-selects) will be non-existent for the near future?
  8. From what I gather from Liquid's posts, it seems like he is AFSOC. Any thoughts on the above data with regard to ACP take rate in your MAJCOM?
  9. We'll make these Js look like the E/Hs with gauges/displays everywhere in no time! On a serious note, a brake temp gauge would be the heat (no pun intended).
  10. That's the thing. There are actual inspirational LEADERS out there, but they are by exception. I'm working for one now, but it is difficult for one person to keep you focused on what matters and disregard the BS out there, especially knowing that he will move on in about two years and statistically, you will get a shoe clerk in a flightsuit as a replacement. I'll enjoy it while it lasts.
  11. They'll see your decs earned while enlisted, but information from the citation itself is generally disregarded unless it was a big-level (think AF-level) impact. The focus on promotion boards is supposed to be your ability to serve in the next higher grade, not reflect on achievements as an E. Those EPRs/decs probably led to you getting a commission. Your performance as an officer after that gets you promoted. Make sense?
  12. Liquid, personal insults aside, I think we are getting to the core of the problem. You and your peers are simply out of touch with reality. I am seeing the AF very much turn into just a "job". Many of us entered the service with wide-eyed, idealistic visions of service before self. Also, don't forget that a lot of people from which you are hearing these complaints joined after 9/11/01. What they are finding, though, is that their leadership has not been able to keep its eye on the ball with regard to taking care of people and putting the mission first. I'm not talking about the "mission first" we put at the bottom of a .ppt slidedeck. So, yes, I will continue to serve until I either can't take the madness anymore, or until the opportunity cost of separating prior to being retirement eligible is too high. But, it is increasingly becoming more like any other "job" out there, with the exception of risks/inconveniences that are synonymous with military service that are not a factor in the civilian work force.
  13. Already happening.
  14. Hey hey hey... Larry's BBQ.
  15. So do you guys in the winglet community regularly fly through magenta returns since you don't rely on the accuracy of your radar? Seems like I would take another approach.... If a magenta cell blocks your route of flight/destination, why not just be hair triggered to divert/turn around/overfly. If that starts to happen on the reg, maybe your radar issues will be addressed.
  16. I still read the local paper sometimes and I laughed my ass off when I saw that. Thanks for reminding me!
  17. Same thing I'd heard. What was the intensity of the returns?

  19. N/A in the J
  20. Dick measuring that doesn't involve MAF guys flinging poo. Finally. In all seriousness though, interesting discussion.
  21. Do what?
  22. And all I wanted was to have the galley tied to the essential bus. Is that too much to ask?
  23. Officer only.
  24. Ironically, I'm posting from a computer at work and got no malware/blocked messages...
