Proof positive that you can be on aeronautical orders and still be a "shoe". MC-12s (and UAVs for that matter) were one of the best things to happen to the Herk world. All of the douches that couldn't fly and no one liked anyway filled that bill pretty quickly. Maybe things do have a way of working themselves out. Man, what a leper colony that community must be.

LOL. Thanks for giving me a laugh on this fine Saturday. Your co-workers in the MSG must think you're quite the bad ass when you pop off like that at the Anthony's Pizza cashier. Rest assured, I have done and am doing just fine. Trust me though, I know your type very well. The layers are very easy to see through. Let the hate flow, tool. I have read the ridiculous drivel you post. Just when I think you can't get any more clueless, you astonish me. Answer the question, shoe. How do you really think you are "helping" your people at your level? Writing nice things in their OPR push lines that get changed in the multiple edits anyway? Hooking them up by submitting them for a quarterly award that they have no chance of winning because its someone else's "turn"?

Credibility is everything in this business. You may be able to rise through the ranks without it thanks to our promotion/development process, but those that do fail to receive anything more than the basic respect that their rank/position dictates. Let me spell it out for you: You are coming across as a twerp. No one is taking you seriously. You like to throw around phrases like "look out for my guys" which insinuates that you are in some position of authority. By "position of authority", I specifically mean squadron command. The remaining content of your posts clearly contradicts that, though. You sound like a pure and utter tool. Like that guy in ROTC/USAFA/wherever who thought that being the "Cadet Wing Commander" actually made him a Wing/CC. You are under the impression that you have some type of control as to who goes to SOS and who does not. Or who gets promoted, and who does not. Unless you are on the one MAKING those decisions, you have no control over it. If you are indeed a direct supervisor (flight commander, shop chief, etc), I would recommend you focus on making sure "your guys" are ready to employ whatever task/weapon system they are charged with, and let the higher ups figure out how they want to un-fuck the officer development process. Trust me, if you are anything "in person" like the persona you exude on this forum, you will be sparing your subordinates a great deal of pain by refraining from offering any "mentoring". I had one that called it "pay to play" and equated it to a price of admission in the same what that you go to a movie theater and are charged for a ticket.

Who, exactly, are "your" people? Are you a sq training shop chief with an over-inflated sense of value or something based on the three people you rate on?

This just can't be... I was in my third year as Capt when I went to SOS. Finished my AAD right after (a year before my O-4 board). I started doing one Masters class per term within 4 months of arriving at my first operational squadron, and doubled up on a deployment. It still took me that long to finish. Unless guys are going to SOS later (closer to their O-4 board now), it seems infeasible that they would have an AAD completed in that amount of time. Either that, or are guys really getting their Masters done THAT early now? I hate a lot of things about the AF as much as anyone, but are you sure you aren't exaggerating a tad, Rusty?

Getting it as well on Safari 5.1.10 running on OS X 10.6.8. Pretty annoying.

What's the take rate they're shooting for again? 50%ish? -
Herk community took its share of UAS bills as well over the last 5 years.

I feel old.

Doesn't seem all that sweeping of a change...

Slick, we appreciate your insight. That's pretty cool that your Wg/CC picked you out of the "mission support" group to be his exec. I'll bet the hours were a little different than those you had become accustomed to, clearly being a shoe and all.

You're acting like a SNAP. Stop.
-
Slick, that seems to be strike 2 against you in this thread.

So you mean it's not a "slam dunk"? -
I prefer "morally casual".

He speaks the truth. Reference the PRF chapter (8?) of AFI 36-2406. PRF fodder comes from your record of performance (ROP). If it isn't written down, it probably won't make it in. The only instances I've heard of an MFR being used are to highlight major awards that for whatever reason did not make it onto a report/dec. There is a blurb that mentions the use of "other reliable information", but I don't think it applies in your case. FML for knowing that. Edit to add excerpt, because I had the time: 8.1.4.1. The Senior Rater: 8.1.4.1.1. Reviews the ratee's Officer’s Command Selection Records Group (OCSRGp), decoration citations, Duty Qualification History Brief (DQHB) and Unfavorable Information File (UIF) (if applicable) before preparing the PRF. May consider other reliable information about duty performance and conduct except as paragraph 1.12. or other regulatory guidance prohibits. Examples of other reliable information may include but are not limited to LOE, bullets from a draft OPR and/or decoration, etc. To reference the “other reliable information” in their record, the officer meeting the board may submit a letter to the CSB. Do not use any other Single Uniform Request Formats (SURFs) other than those indicated above when preparing the PRF (i.e., AMS SURFs). Note: The intent of the "other reliable information" passage is to allow SRs to comment on performance accomplishments since the closeout of the last evaluation. This allows a SR who has personal knowledge of an accomplishment to comment about it in the PRF although not part of the official record yet.

You're doing the readings? -
Liquid, Serious question. What is one to do when their supervisor (or even CC) tells them something to the effect of "have me a draft of your PRF by such and such date" or, even better, you are asked how your PRF is "coming along"? As the eligible, I can't imagine you are putting yourself in a good place by telling any of the above people "naa, you write it..." I get the impression that this isn't the way you roll, and you find it infathomable that your peers would engage in this practice. But they do. This isn't hyperbole. I have seen it. Thoughts?
-
Didn't you guys have a promotion rate lower than the AF average your year?
-
So you made no initial inputs? No first "draft"?
-
Glad you do/did this for the officers under your command, but if you think that all of your peers write their officers' PRFs, you are out of touch.

So.... UPT washout or got medically DQed prior to starting?
