  1. It is seriously difficult to take our notion of "OPSEC" seriously when you see articles like that.
  2. AMC adding queep and making shit more difficult than it needs to be? I don't believe you.
  3. Not so much a "DTS" issue as much as it is a "this is how off-the-rails our organization has become" issue: So get this shit -- at my base, when one is going TDY, BEFORE you submit at Authorization in DTS, one must complete a paper-copy "DTS Authorization Form" to be submitted to your DTS person (routed through your chain of command) before they will approve your authorization. WTF!!!! Why would I be bashing my face into a Dell desktop monitor for God knows how long creating an Authorization in DTS if I wasn't authorized (i.e, getting sent on a TDY!!!) to be traveling in the first place?!? Has this been going on AF-wide while I was OCONUS for the last several years, or are the people who implemented this at my base ruh-tards?
  4. But.... Does she have a bronze star? Yep, went there?
  5. Divert the funds to make this undoubtedly POS system and use them to retrain the finance troops so that they actually know how to properly process a voucher.
  6. Denzel flies MC-12s?
  7. Add a couple hundred bucks spent at rangerjoes.com on sweet moto-tactical multicam accessories and you're spot on.
  8. Same with our deployed Herk squadron. EOG funded it. My observations are similar to the above. To me, the pilots that really went nuts over the multicams were those dudes who think they are some kind of full-up door kicker just because they were on the same freq or ramp as spec ops dudes, or if they wore multicams. You know the type. If you like them, more power to you.
  9. I love BODN.
  10. Man's got a point. Breaking off.
  11. Agreed. Are you fucking kidding me? That is disgusting. Go enjoy your next meal on the shitter and report back.
  12. Someone help out a "herbivore" - is this a CAF standard?
  13. What is this, fourth grade? For the record, where does swearing fall with respect to the "pinky promise"?
  14. What was the other place for a good steak? It was across the street (ish) from Old Hickory in a rundown strip mall kind of place. Very no frills, but they had a 16 oz sirloin there to make your eyes water.
  15. ^ "2" Reference C-130 AMP.
  16. Wow, had I known he was a FAIP I don't think I would have glorified his reply WRT this topic with a response, but I suppose it keeps the conversation moving along. Sage advice that I have had given to me in-person from a wide variety of people on many occasions. I'm proud of my service and of the service of those I've flown with. That being said, I would be content to walk away from it all today. I feel satisfied that I've "done my part". There are other things out there. At this point in my career, I am going to need to be convinced to stay in. As I am not special, and the AF machine will continue on long after I would leave, I am not expecting much in the way of "convincing".
  17. Aww, you quoted the core values. That's cute. You must be a PME graduate. And yes, you are right that taking care of my family can be accomplished in other lines of work, and I will be seriously considering that in the not-too-distant future, as I do not see myself continuing to run the rat race of career advancement at the expense of my kid having her father around. We'll see.
  18. Nope. My number one priority is always the family. Sometimes I have to go away, but they are still my number one priority. From show time to debrief, I try to compartmentalize any feelings as a result of those priorities, but make no mistake-- in the end, I would try to come home ASAFP if my family needed me. Any other swinging dick can lead an airdrop or fly a bandage mission. My kid only has one father and my wife only has one husband. Last I checked, there were more than a few C-130J pilots on the Letter of X's where I work. We are probably just arguing semantics, as one could say that my compartmentalizing comment above "counts" as a priority shift, as others have alluded to.
  19. No way. Never. You couldn't be more wrong.
  20. Aren't you a shoe? Shhhh.
  21. Sounds sketchy. I think we need to liberate Rochester, NY. Hopefully we have an exit strategy in place.
  22. Quote of the week.
