  1. Tell that to the people that are losing/have lost their jobs.
  2. This is definitely news to me. Fellow crewdogs, this should be boldface: PRINT - CLICK HARD COPY - SAVE IN MAC PURSE , "support" agencies.
  3. "What would you say ya do here?"
  4. Unless the guy "ordering" me to the bunker on my way to shower during crew-rest was above my rank, I would have told him to "fuck off", and then referred him to my CC. As far as the cops coming in while you guys are crew resting/sitting alert: why not just post a sign with big red letters that says "COMBAT AIRLIFT CREWS IN CREW REST BEFORE A COMBAT MISSION - DO NOT ENTER" (or, "FUCK OFF", whichever you prefer) with the applicable pages of the Vol 3 outside the door with the sections relating to alerts/crew rest highlighted? My....God.
  5. Again, in what? Sure as hell wasn't in a USAF aircraft. Are you saying that Doc was at the controls of aircraft participating in flyovers for MSU games?
  6. C or F? I keed...
  7. ^ Checks.
  8. ^ +1 How about we just make # 1 as being "Anywhere, Thailand"?
  9. So..... Is there a chase? And can we cut to it? Did you hit it, or not?
  10. Didn't they nix that idea?
  11. Trust me, I really wish I'd had a camera to document it. Had I not been going the opposite direction, that may have been an option. However, it probably would not have been good for me, seeing's how I wouldn't have had much of an excuse for running his geeky ass over.
  12. I actually saw someone wearing blues AND a reflective belt last night as I was driving away from the Commissary. I am hoping it was a freak occurrence.
  13. Pure gold. Don't touch it, leave it alone. Don't pussify it with a "Died" version. To do so would imply that the mentality in today's Air Force is half of what it was back then. Face it - those guys were "warriors". You heard it - they are talking about dodging missiles, pushing through flak, and banging Asian chicks. What would a Died one be like? Reflective belts? Sock police? Give me a break.
  14. Precursor to this: This doesn't apply to me, but I see it often, especially with new guys. So, what about dudes who constantly tell their schedulers, "I need to fly.....". They don't fly, for whatever reason. They go back and say, "Hey, I've got XX of ________events remaining, I need to fly." They don't fly. So now, it's the end of the semi-annual period, and now THEY are the "criminal" for not having their beans done. Then, they are asked why they didn't get said beans done, and when they say it was because they don't get to fly, they are asked if there is a malfunction with their pencil (meaning: Why didn't you just log them off in your TAR whether you did it or not?). Broken system, if you ask me. [sARCASM] Personally, I just go ahead and log everything off at the beginning of the semi-annual period. If you're going to lie, might as well get it done early so that you get people off your back, right? [/sARCASM]
  15. Is that a no-go item on you guys' MEL?
  16. Please tell me this is at least "Other" time. And people wonder why the pointy-nose types give us shit.
  17. Please don't let this thread degenerate into boom operators and drivers flinging poo at each other.
  18. Direct all questions to JackAss, our new resident all-things-AFSOC expert.
  19. I've got nothing on the Christmas ornament thing, but for any future viewers of this thread, if you're looking for model airplanes, check out Aim High out of Angeles City, Philippines (particularly if you're RONing there, but they mail custom orders, too). Good prices, good quality, fast service. https://www.aimhighmodelairplanes.com/index.html I bought a Tweet, T-44, and a Herk from them - all great quality!
  20. "Liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine up & hold...."
  21. Thanks for helping me with my homework brother.
  22. Now that we are in the Fall season with colder temperatures approaching, does anyone know if the leather jacket is legal to wear with blues, as oppose to the blue zip-up thing? I've seen the combo before, but I didn't see anything about it during a cursory scan of 36-29-slob-my-knob.
  23. They have AD C-17s at Elmendorf AFB, AK. Being in Alaska, they fall under PACAF (like Hawaii). I've been up there for Red Flag, and it's truly beautiful. All of the dudes I talked to that were stationed there loved it. As far as how many tails they have, and if they are taking new guys or not... I don't know.
  24. So, the Navy is making an effort to repair near-brokedick airplanes. What a concept. Maybe Big Blue should take a hint, instead of making worthless policies about "Professional Mondays."
