Maybe I missed where someone previously posted this in the two competing uniform change threads, but I am most pissed about the banning of ALL morale patches/tabs! What the fuck?! My squadron just ordered a shit ton of "approved" morale tabs a month ago. EDIT: By the way, this is the dude whose name is on the reg:

Online classes for MBA/other Masters Program
Gravedigger replied to Kanedaa's topic in General Discussion
If you are not in the military, the school you attend means a lot more, in fact it is usually what lands you an interview. If you are in the military that is absolutely not the case. Don't worry about going to a "top-tier" school unless your pride just wont allow you to have a degree from an online school. In the Air Force, honestly nobody gives a shit where your degree is from. My wife's undergrad degree is in Aerospace Engineering from Georgia Tech, and it took her a long time to understand that the Air Force looks more favorably on a person with an undergrad theater degree and online MBA from TUI than someone with just an undergrad in Aerospace. Fair or not, that is the system in place. Just check the box with the least ass pain possible and move on. -
Jumper got his MBA (his first AAD) a year before pinning on Lt Col...I think that speaks to what he thought his priorities should have been as a junior officer. EDIT: For proof JPJ Bio

What the fuck is up with all of these airshow crashes recently? Check out these two in the same day at Geneseo, New York.

Reminds me of this one that happened in my neighborhood a while back... Kid Drives Home with Headless Body

Almost bought a Grumman Tiger in college, but I've flown all three aircraft you listed. I would go with a Grumman, because of maneuverability, efficiency, and ergonomics. They are just great flying aircraft, and the visibility is great as well. The downside to low-wings, and especially Grummans is that you can bake on sunny summer days. You should also check out a Grumman Yankee. Are you looking for something to fly cross-country in or something just to fly in the local area? The Cardinal would definitely be my top choice for cross-country flying, but Cardinals are generally quite a bit more expensive than a Tiger/Cheetah.

Absolutely agree. I initially signed up for my MS in Space Studies from AMU thinking it was going to be a joke, and I could easily check the box. In reality, I researched and wrote more 10 - 20 page papers for my masters than I ever did for my undergrad. I also feel like I have learned more. Writing a 50 page thesis is also a bitch. There are definitely programs out there that require very little effort, including several at AMU. However, be careful what you're getting into if you think all online programs are a joke.

Absolutely, and now it is even more kosher than ever. Sodomy is no longer illegal under the UCMJ (if both parties consent). In other words, being butt hurt is now completely legit, you can probably even go see the flight doc for it. As a side note, right before my DADT training, our first shirt said "take it as you will" referring to the training. I laughed for about the first ten minutes of commanders call.

Wow, that's sad. The DC-3 in those photos looked completely unscathed...what a champ.

Credit Cards / Cash Back & Rewards Options
Gravedigger replied to DC's topic in Useful Product Reviews & Military Discounts
I have two cards that get great rewards. First and foremost, I have never in my life carried a balance or paid one penny of interest to a credit card company. I treat credit cards the exact same way I treat debit cards...except I get much more money back. If used correctly, there is no reason not to use credit cards. In addition to greater rewards, they are a lot safer from a fraud or theft standpoint. The two cards I have that I recommend are: 1. Chase Freedom Rewards Card 2. AMEX Blue Sky (the no annual fee version of Blue Sky Preferred...virtually the same card) The Chase freedom is a mastercard, and is accepted everywhere. As mentioned previously, it is a guaranteed flat 1% cash back on everything, plus 3-5% cash back on rotating categories. I literally pay everything with my credit card, so I average around $3K a month on the card. I generally get about $40 a month back. The AMEX Blue Sky is great for building airline points. You redeem points towards airline travel, so if you don't travel a lot, this is not the card for you. One dollar equals one point, and 7,500 points equals $100 credit towards travel. This is nice because it is 25% more rewards than most cards, and you buy whatever tickets you want, and then AMEX credits the points towards your statement. Both of these cards have some additional cool features, like being able to just return something that breaks to the credit card company even if the store wont take it back. Bottom line, credit is great if you know how to use it to your advantage. The sad thing is that most people cannot control themselves. -

https://www.snopes.com/crime/justice/mugger.asp It is funny, but you can generally disregard all emails received from family members over the age of 50.

So, I saw TIB perform last night. It was every bit as horrific as I thought it would be. One of the industry guys at my table asked "Is this the Air Force's response to the repeal of DADT?" Another said, "when does the death from above begin?" What a colossal waste of money, and an embarrassment to the USAF.

I am trying to figure out how I am going to be able to keep my dinner down this Friday while they sing during meal time at the Air Force Ball. Oh and BTW I am not attending under my own free will.

Oh I definitely think this guy is worse than Timmy. Timmy was a mega-douche, and told a lot of lies, but I don't remember seeing pictures of Timmy wearing Air Force service dress with pilot wings, and accepting awards for his military accomplishments. Ol' Amn LaTorre on the other hand is using/used actual Air Force rank, insignia, badges, and medals that he did not earn to further his own interests and to take advantage of the respect that is rightfully given to those that earn it. Then again, when comparing worthless douche bags, it's all semantics really.

That's not lame, it's a valid question. This site has some good gouge: AF Gouge

Thanks for posting thestig (Top Gear fan I'm assuming). You have confirmed what so many were suspecting, and the fact that he wasn't even actually a SSgt just adds more fuel to the fire.

I attended an event that some CCTs were at, and every one of them wore combat boots with their service dress. Doesn't seem to be the low-quarter type of culture. Also check out the number of ribbons this assclown has compared to the NCOs, SNCOs, and Col below. I have absolutely zero doubt that this guy is a complete phony.
-
The fucker is wearing a HALO/jumpmaster badge...UPSIDE DOWN! The badge would be appropriate but anyone that actually earned it would know how to wear it. The low quarters also stick out like a sore thumb. Edited to add pic:

Finally went and saw "127 Hours" tonight. Go see this movie. If I hear someone say they can't do 2 more pushups, or run 15 seconds faster, I will remind them of a dude that drank his own piss and cut his arm off with a dull knife, then repelled down a cliff and hiked to safety. The brain is a hell of a drug.

You sure as hell aren't representing me. Every time I see a picture of Tops in Blue or read an article about them, I feel sick to my stomach. Is this really what the Air Force values? Are our senior leaders really this retarded?
-
Jealous. Happy New Year everyone, be safe and don't end up like one of these folks tonight! Best Mug Shots of 2010

Nope, but two separate movers have told me. Also had a friend have his 55" put in a crate when he moved, and looks like schokie had the same deal.
-
FYI, the Air Force has to specially package any TV bigger than 52" in a crate, but I would recommend at least a 55". PS- You need this. I bought it as a promotion present to myself, and it is incredible.
