  1. Stiffler has a really unique perspective based off his current job as a civilian, I'll just leave it at that. Plus, he's spot on as usual.
  2. He's a reliable source. The board members cannot talk about specific details of the board but they are allowed to pass lessons learned and takeaways.
  3. Maybe Gen Welsh is righting this ship? Top five things for the board this year according to our Wg/CC. 1) Flt CC 2) IP time 3) Combat experience 4) AAD 5) PME
  4. Looks awesome! That's pretty much the same story line of the book "Transfer of Power" by Vince Flynn and that was a great read.
  5. Hahaha very funny M2. This can't be real.
  6. Ya must suck to be stationed at Coronado or Key West! Let's give the kid some good advice. If you want sweet base, go Coast Guard, you can fly armed helicopters and live in a sweet location.
  7. Because I heard this song.
  8. Clovadishu!
  9. MBA or creative writing degree? Holy wall of text Batman!
  10. 2.25% funding fee is a waste of money IMHO. That's $4500 on a 200K house that doesn't go towards equity even if it is rolled into the loan. Put 5% down and it drops to 1.5% ($3000 on a 200K home) saving you a bit more...with that said, still not a fan of any funding fee.
  11. I don't believe the 24 month limitation applies to military. From the ATP Practical Test Standards: NOTE: The 24-month limitation does not apply if the applicant: 7. is employed as a flight crewmember in U.S. military air transport operations at the time of the practical test, and has accomplished the pilot in command aircraft qualification training program that is appropriate to the certificate and rating sought.
  12. This. Also it's important to consider liquidity...you could sell a stock/mutual instantly, while it may take 6-9 months to sell a property. Do you mean the rule of 72 (72 / annual interest rate = years to double money) or are you trying to sell us something with the rule of 7's?
  13. Yep, not sure.
  14. Seems like military osprey pilots could stand to make a lot of money if the Boeing Tilt Rotor concept develops: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AgustaWestland_AW609
  15. "Federal Aviation Administration radio transmissions indicated the pilot went by the call name Venom 01." If that's really his call sign, I wonder if the boss has a biographer? 16. Word...taking it Thursday at my local airport. $140 with AOPA membership
  17. Is it free like Tinker's education office was?
  18. What iphone app do you use to scan the receipts?
  19. Agent, are you in UPT? Send me a message if you have any questions and I'll see if I can point you in the right direction. Not sure what your story is, but probably best not to just roll in on an ops squadron, especially one with flying SEALS!
  20. ATP (if you have the pre reqs) and type if you go C-146's (Dornier 328).
  21. Nice. Have you tagged a bull out there yet? Thanks for the tips. Are the odds of getting a tag any better for archery only?
  22. I don't know. Seems like an unnecessary risk. Why put your family in the spot light when there are radicals inside the U.S. hoping for the chance to avenge OBL's death. Maybe I've read a little too much Flynn but it just seems like nothing good comes out of this scenario. There are known threats at RPA bases who have followed crews driving home from work. SOCOMs boss issued a stern warning here: https://www.washingtonpost.com/entertainment/seal-author-who-wrote-unauthorized-account-of-bin-laden-raid-could-face-legal-trouble-threats/2012/08/23/9fea0864-ed83-11e1-866f-60a00f604425_story.html
  23. Seems rather painless, thanks!
  24. Which is ridiculous. The majority of multi engine training is flying around on one engine. So I can pull an engine on a student just after V1, rotate, climb out and fly a single engine partial panel approach to a single engine missed, but cannot instruct my child on flying a C-152? Hate to complain, because the FAA did something right with the mil comp for military instructors, but it needs tweaking. Anyone know how extensive the single engine CFI is after getting the mil comp for MEI/CFII?
  25. A solid leader steps up to the plate and all we care about is what uniform are we going to wear?
