  1. I saw one succeed on an attempted admin sep of an Amn. Went to the NAF/CC and back in 4 days. I was completely shocked. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I saw that and thought something was different. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. It's all fact (sort of). There has been a partial resolution for DTS vouchers since they are locally approved. The TDY enroute guys are still in limbo as of right now. I know of people at multiple base who have had their lodging zeroed out on their voucher. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I agree every bit of this. I have watched two deployments get shut off recently because of a lack of need for the individuals down range. Not sure if this trend will continue but it's positive impact to those two units and families. Wish we could see more of that. I'm in it til I am done having fun. I haven't seen much in fixing the pilot shortage except increasing pilot output. That is not going to solve the problem it's more like giving someone a small blood transfusion while they have arterial bleeding. From what I have read the NDAA Joe allows for a grand a month in flight pay pretty sure it wouldn't hurt retainability in the critical zones but really we just need to get rid of bullshit. 5. Sounds like you are scared of a little competition... if you do a successful 10 year commitment as an AF pilot I personally wouldn't be worried about competition from a 250-1000 hour pilot. This may be completely out of Fingers lane to talk on this (we don't know if he was given any orders to investigate to find a solution) but he is completely correct in the fact we have a national pilot problem. Regardless if you are a 10 and out guy or a 30 year guy, I would say it is safe to assume that if you are looking for a civilian job between now and 2030 you won't have a problem. That is also assuming you didn't barrel roll a MC-12. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Why the hell does this matter? For all we know he was tasked to work with the FAA to come up with a solution (something that has been discussed for a while). As a result a part of the equation to help the national pilot shortage (both military and civilian) is to lower the time. What's wrong if they lower the hours for FOs, a lot of the issues mentioned are completely in the control of the airlines. (Showing without rest, pay, training) I was crossing oceans with just over 1K hours with a brand new FP. So according to some posts here we should have been a death trap waiting to happen. If you are an AF pilot and you believe this is doing you an injustice the problem probably isn't flights hours... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. The MC was a JS coord. The 52 guy was non-rec'd to fighters. Not sure on the other three. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. The way I read it he resigned. Just so happens the time and date is always set for this time. Let's make something out of nothing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Last I saw that world would not work join spouse assignments. Is that still the case? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Dropped $100 per month. Happy to be grandfathered. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  12. Now that is well put. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  14. Well official notification received. Looking at the 365 AEF tracker there are two more billets that haven't been filed. If anyone in the forum gets tasks just send me a message. I'm in contact with people from every location down range and have a good amount of info to pass. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. So here is the info I have gathered so far. Approx 10 weeks of training prior to departure. Have to love the fact a 365 is really a 435 plus. I may have the ability to vol for a different 365 if I want. Currently about my only choice is executive officer or just an air advisor versus a safety advisor. Other than that every other billet is not rated or 11F or 11B only. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. No short tours in my history. I had four assignments in my 8 years but no short tours. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Which Is what I'm doing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. No bonus. I'm not even eligible for it. I'm C-17 background currently in the T-6. I got selected because I'm prior-e and none of the short tour data reset when I commissioned. Also I'm s-coded which me more vulnerable. Guess we will see. I was told by my boss that it's mine unless someone decides to volunteer for it. Since they try to notification 120 days prior to the first training event for the deployment I expect it soon since the c208 training is in the spring. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Trying to get some info on this. Just received an informal notification from my commander that I will see one drop with my name on it in the near future. Any info is appreciated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Randolph just recently started an "advanced instructors course" or some thing like that. It's 3 or so days of class discussion. Don't know the details haven't been. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I can say I grew up just east of the base but haven't been back in years. The older areas are east and south of the base and have larger lots. If you get west that is newer territory. I don't know if I believe you can get from Morgan to Farmington in 20 minutes but things have changed. I remember back in the day the pass to get to/from Morgan would get closed for bad WX. May be a disadvantage. It is beautiful country out there. Good luck, I've dreamed of moving back. I would stay out of the river dale area unless they have modernized the road system. That place was always backed up. On a separate note does anyone know if the palm tree mural at the club is still there? It was the last time I went there. I helped paint it back in '97 or so. 23. Unless you are prior E you may have a an issue with the amount of leave you have at your disposal. I'm not a JFTR expert but there may be an avenue to do a DITY move or home of record move to get it all covered. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Ok so I will lay it out like this... OG/CC stated to expect it. It's still a rumor because it's not finalized. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. How to you suck in people for shitty 365s when they are not bound by a commitment? I do agree to getting rid of the bonus and just increasing flight pay. Shit take away the bonus and take all the additional duties and hire some ass clown to do it for us. This would make my life better. I know a lot of people that would love to stay in but the queep of doing office work more than flying bothers them. The up or out mindset which causes people to "need career progression" really doesn't work for the guy who knows he will never see a command or a bird on his shoulder. Those who wish to get to command will usually work hard to get there anyway so let them. Break break I also know there is a proposition in works to contract out Phase 2 training. This isn't an AF initiative but an option to free up pilots. I think it's a horrible idea but it's an option. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
