  1. Rumor on the streets is the 23rd is a full fly day for my location. Safety briefs start at 0800 on the 2nd. I wouldn't expect to get out any earlier than your peers and being the baby class probably means the last flights of the day on the 23rd. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Just might want to read some refs first. Just happen to vaguely remember it takes OG approval to have in flight photography, at least in AETC. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. They need it. The latest rumor is all 38 trained FAIPs will see a pointy nose, no bombers for those guys. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I bet some do and when they see something they don't like the just ignore it... unless they are the prior Laughlin wing king to which he will hunt you down and destroy your career for drug use. (Too soon?) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Are you the same person as J-ay Mike that posted this same survey in addition to another one a week or so ago for an SOS project? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I think they do. I know that all T-1s are having MX issues with some structural cracking. FYSA they removed all the mission fam from T-1 training. They now do a couple sims after their nav check. Form/AR are out the window. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Yes as long as the airfield meets the following requirements: Runway length (unless waived) Runway width (unless waived) Runway weight capacity (unless waived) And finally with a 5 star hotel within 7 miles (unless waived) Feed the troll, feed the troll Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Of course it is. Just watched a guy sleep through classes and pass. (Syl dev'd himself doing it) but he's off to fly F-22sand he was in the bottom third of his class. (family connection in the guard). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. It's all three UPT bases sending people. There were a total of 6 sent last time. SPS has "excess capacity" in phase three. Don't not the root cause though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Well put! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I think it all goes back to what you want out of your career. If you do this its probably because you care more about the experience than careerism. I've seen many a major or light col walking around just flying the line because they died on the upward movement but at least they are still doing what they love (I hope). I'm throwing my name in the ring because careerism isn't important to me and am not worried about promotions. If me going to help out with an AF wide manning issue screws up my ability to get promoted or have "normal progression" then the big blue will loss me as soon as my ADSC for the FTU is over. 12. My "little AD mind" probably comprehends more than you think. I've seen AGRs work 20 hour days to hack the mission and I see them work 10 hours quite frequently. Last I checked I said AGRs not technicians. I personally don't know how many AGRs vs ARTs are floating around. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Am I bashing on anyone? Just simply asking a question. I worked in TFI units for the last 15 years so I have a little perspective. I have seen AGRs stick around to get the job done while the technicians can't because they are civilians. I can't claim to understand every bit of it however I can say I have some understanding. I never want anyone to take un necessary risks but it's not just the AD that will fail. It will be the entire force failing to keep us safe. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. So what ever happened to the days of working for the better good? Maybe flying that 3rd go or agreeing to cut the syllabus by 10% or so? Just seems like the AGRs I have met (title 10 guys) work 8 hours a day and what ever happens after that they don't care. I guess my theory of being on an "active duty" status doesn't mean work what is required to get the job done. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Bolt said no? I remember his drop night when he told his flt/cc he deserved a fighter and ended up in tears. I can't believe he isn't interested. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. From what I have seen. AMC/DO sent an official tasker to provide name, I read the email and it seems like it's already in motion. My wing cc (AETC) is collecting information as a research/prep phase to this all. Which means they want to be ready if a short tasker drops (which is what happened to AMC) and generally have an idea who they would nominate. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Does his last name rhyme with Bolt? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Well the the question is being asked in AETC sq's as well now. I just threw my name in the bucket for this, I'm willing to give it a shot and see what works out. So what if I get three years in a bomber/fighter and then get stuck doing a staff tour somewhere. The nice thing. Most Capts will complete the FTU with 3-5 years left on their commitment meaning they get a couple years possibly doing what they had always dreamed of and then something else and they will be able to punch. 19. Thought there was a C-146 as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Duck when you say "community manning" are you talking AF wide T-6 manning? If so 107 is probably in accurate. My unit is around 70 (approx same for our other T-6 unit) which means someone would have to be extremely fat to take the average up to 107%. We are also Max performing DAV 64s to keep people from deploying because off manning. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. The word was that 16-12 would be the last to drop RPAs so it sounds like they made true on their word. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. On second look it's the aviation service pay which hasn't changed since 1990 (edited) Good call. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Yes however the bonus was $25k in 1990 as well so that would be your base analysis point. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. The Elmo thing was mentioned when they announced the Charlotte transition to the 17. As for Hickam, that was mentioned by a friend that was in the unit. The idea was mentioned because it is very seldom that a mission originates from Hawaii. Everything has to be shipped there so why do we have aircraft stationed where there is an oceanic flight to even initiate the mission? As for sending people to a unit that is closing. First it's supposed to be 2018 so you still have to accomplish the mission. Second, ask anyone who went up there in the active duty 130 squadron how it worked out for them. That unit lasted less than two years. The overmanned numbers came from AFPC about six months ago. As stated from the functional "If you were an IP in the C-17 and are now in AETC don't expect to go back. Expect a staff job next". Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. The current 586th commander will only take a guy with operational fighter experience or TPS grad. There is only one non-TPS pilot in the unit (as of last fall). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
