  1. Except that’s not part of the 365 deployment requirements. Also, if they are popping you for deployment they aren’t even looking at your requal requirements. I’ve been back for a little over a month and am still waiting on my requal to be approved the the gp/cc. Guess we don’t UPT instructors TOO much.
  2. From what I have read it seems like you would have to have a formal training RIP. You won’t get that for a sq requal plan. As such, no ADSC.
  3. Still isn’t. Probably because it gives more people the ability to opt out.
  4. Guess I’m opting out of my assignment next week once I get notified.
  5. Taught by who exactly? Pretty sure there are few, if any, guys who have IFF experience flying the Texan.
  6. Which is what the second class supposedly is.
  7. RPA training
  8. Are we still on course for the fighter guys to not do IFF? Anyone know?
  9. (Add) 6.4.3.2. Tan or Coyote Brown Boots. Airmen may wear either Tan or Coyote Brown boots with the OCP. On 1 June 2020, Coyote Brown boots will be worn with the OCP and the flight duty uniform. ?? Does this I Clyde the flight suit?
  10. From the recent change: ] (Add) 6.4.3.2. Tan or Coyote Brown Boots. Airmen may wear either Tan or Coyote Brown boots with the OCP. On 1 June 2020, Coyote Brown boots will be worn with the OCP and the flight duty uniform. (Exception: Athletic shoes may be worn if medically necessary, as determined by competent medical authorities at a civilian or military treatment facility and approved by the commander). Boots will be laced up with plain rounded toe or rounded capped toe with or without a perforated seam. A zipper or elastic inserts may be worn; however, if worn, they will be without design. Boots can be either with or without a safety toe. [Exception for black combat boot wear in industrial areas: ref para 6.4.3.3.
  11. What do you fly? I would be surprised to hear of any heavy guy/gal flying with a Massif on. So (if that’s the cause) does it really need to be flight approved to walk to the aircraft in?
  12. From my recent details down range the only 11Fs were from the 81st (179ers) or command billets(group/wing).
  13. 11M. Same here. No words. Just the post and word of mouth through the squadron. No official email or TM notification. And we wonder why we struggle at getting people to want to be part of such a dysfunctional organization.
  14. The AFCENT CC worried to keep all rated AAs as 365s and won the battle. I don’t know if any rated AAs (at least to the ‘Stan) which are only 6 months. If it’s to Iraq there were a bunch however I heard that was shutting down. To waiver the training, it has to be approved by AFCENT I believe and they don’t like to do it. (That is unless you have done fieldcraft training recently) There’s at least 5 weeks of training. For example we had a guy who was an advisor in 16 come back this spring. We tried to get the training waived but the reg requires it every two years so he had to do it again. If you are on a 365 you need to look at 36-2110 and check the requirements for how much time they are required to give you after a deployment before a retirement.
  15. Bingo, this type of issue is why people are leaving. Every promotion board, now assignments? I worked a drug-deal assignment swap from the summer cycle match and neither of us have received a notification. The assignment I’m taking had training scheduled for 10 Jul. Talked to the registrar on Thursday and his name is still attached.
  16. At what point will the AF ever decide meeting a deadline is important? It’s infuriating to me in the fact I grew up in an AF where you worked your ass off if you thought you would miss a deadline (to ensure it wouldn’t happen). If you thought you would miss it you better let people know early. After all the board result SNAFUs you would think AFPC would figure something out yet on the last day of the assignment window the below message comes out. At least they gave a piss poor excuse.
  17. Since the Deid is moving more to a remote and less of a deployment they are requiring people to maintain current on the test. Same at Ali.
  18. https://www.runnersworld.com/runners-stories/a20832025/fado-never-runs-unless-there-is-food-at-stake/ Real deal, squadron mascot.
  19. I wouldn’t worry much. For any coalition to be on board we are required to have a coalition pilot at a set of controls. I’ve flown over 500 hours with the Afghans and have never seen that situation. They tend to have a very conservative mindset when it comes to flying. They carry extra airspeed and land fast because they are so scared of stalling.
  20. I know there are a couple on the forum who are en-route to theater. Also I will reply when I can get my message page to work.
  21. That’s what it sounds like. I will say if I didn’t have a wife and children I would probably volunteer for a second year (and probably commit career suicide). I actually am really enjoying it. It’s just rough with a family.
  22. This... I completely agree.
  23. That’s the place. Been here 11 months never heard it called KAIA. The gouge is fairly accurate. I’m part of the wing by not there. BTW HKIA = Hamid Karzai International Airport
  24. This!!! 100%
  25. KAIA? HKIA maybe? Good grub at the Turkish chow hall. The US is all right. Internet free to 10 GB a week and yes it is FaceTime friendly. They did shut down the morale drive because the new comm major said it’s illegal. Bathrooms at communal and right now everyone O-5 and below have a roommate except CCs. Right now 2 to a room about 8x20 and they are trying to figure out how to get three from what I hear. I believe all the dorms are hardened facilities as well. Never been to the main gym I do know they have an out door CrossFit area and on the FOB there is a gym right next to the current ops area. Daily life seems interesting, winters are cold and shitty with the burning of trash and other stuff for heat.
