  1. I was prior enlisted at 104th and left at age 25 for UPT on AD. You can't afford to not take first slot avail. If you get picky...you probably won't be going at all.
  2. I put in for this a few months ago. My band starts next April. When should I expect the thanks/no thanks email? I've been checking my email everyday. Don't want to hound ACC dude, but I'm really wondering. Tks.
  3. A good friend my mine was a Navy Top Gun grad aggressor, got picked up by Fresno Vipers and is now a -38 reservist. If you PM me your mil address, I'll send it to him.
  4. Solid...value added comment. People don't live on base because it makes financial sense. It's a convienence thing.
  5. I've been in housing for two years now, it's decent. What's best is the 4 min bike ride to work. If your in UPT, you'll get a two bed/one bath attached house (another UPTer/young FAIP). If you have kids, they'll probably give you a three bedroom. If your just going through UPT, I wouldn't sweat the smaller house, you'll only see it for 12 hrs a day. PM me if you have any more questions.
  6. A few international -38's and a few Toner assignments missing off the list.
  7. It changes every 3 weeks. Be the best and you have the best chance to get what you want.
  8. As a current UPT T-38 Flt/CC, it's all about what "the man" gives us in our excel sheet. Awesome classes get shitty drops, shitty classes get awesome drops. Needs of the Air Force, simple as that. Don't overthink it.
  9. Ummm...this is not a valid statement. Not even close. It was what Big Blue needed. Luck of the draw. Nothing more...nothing less.
  10. Have used this a few times..it's awesome. Thank you for doing what you do!
  11. I'm sure it's way overpriced and only has the XM Tops in Blue radio channel.
  12. While I was an 11B, turned -38 IP and not a fighter guy, my opinion is that this would not work. We now have C-17 and PC-12 guys in addition to bomber guys in my sqdn. The 11F shortage is keeping those types in the operational cockpits. Do you really want bomber, cargo or PC-12 guys teaching BFM or Surface Attack sorties? The manning at UPT with 11Fs wouldn't support it.
  13. No, their countries buy their slots. They are separate from the American students.
  14. mar96, What the hell are you talking about? Go read the pilot selection stuff. You have a lot to learn.
  15. I would say really good. Usually fly 1 maybe 2 times per day, outside oft those times, do what you need to. During academics, you should be able to sneak away during lunch.
  16. I'll get you one man. I'm a -38 IP at DLF. PM me your .mil address.
  17. It's a great rule..not to mention you would have no street cred. "Back when I didn't ever teach UPT"
  18. Negative..my comment was more a public vent session. BL: I trust the military legal system as far as I can kick it. Guilty til proven innocent.
  19. This story is beyond WOW!! I know Brooks personally...the Air Force got it wrong at many levels. "Kris" should be dishonorably discharged.
  20. Hey man, I was enlisted in the Air Guard for 9.5 yrs (agr for 2 yrs post college)before i went to OTS. I applied to Air Guard units (2 of them), at age 25 I applied to a rated OTS board and got picked up first try. It was a year before I left for OTS. As long as your in UPT by age 30 your good. My suggestion is take flying lessons, keep your nose clean and get good grades. I'm currently active duty teaching UPT. Pm if you have any more questions. Cheers Planephlyer
  21. Him...him
  22. ^2 on what Chizz said. As a current UPT Flt/CC if you told me that I would...I would be irritated at a minimum. Concentrate on studying and don't be a tool.
  23. Everybody knows that DGs make the best airline pilots. It takes a top AF Captain to fly that ILS to a quitter.
  24. In the B-1, the role of all 4 crew members is to have SA on what every other person is doing. The mechanics of how that is accomplished is specific to each person, but generally everybody knows what everybody else is doing/accomplishing.
