  1. Yeah, "Life sucks, get a f****n helmet", one of my all time favorite quotes... I put that up by my door when I was at the zoo (sans the f****n). Guess what, the thought police made me take it down. Oh well, f*** em if they can't take a joke... 3 weeks/9 rides 'til track. [ 22. January 2006, 21:46: Message edited by: zrooster99 ]
  2. Hmmm...been known to smoke a fat bowl of crack from time to time (apparently)... [ 21. December 2005, 21:09: Message edited by: zrooster99 ]
  3. Burns to his EYES!!?? Do they mean the area around his eyes?!
  4. I agree 100,000% My technique for getting through the zoo, 6.5 years on AD, and the 1st 5 months of UPT has been to do the next thing I have to do the best way I can do it...keep your head down and only glance up to see if you've broken out of the clouds yet...but this is technique only. Make sure you know why you want to go to USAFA...there are a lot of ROTC grads in fighters and a lot of usafa grads in missile silos. BTW, don't remember who said it, but I personally never took that IHTFP stuff very seriously.
  5. Confriggingratulations...two brothers in the AF that fly...BFD...the chicks get a BFD too
  6. Yep, 2 day low levels and one night psudo low level in T-6s at KDLF. Hoser, I picked my signature up from an e-mail from one of my former E&E troops a long time ago... I heard about that patch though...pretty awesome.
  7. No offense, but I think you're smoking crack...it's made very clear from the start that the guard/reserve and internationals don't take away from our '38 slots.
  8. It's always the bad apples...I'm willing to bet that what you said is pretty accurate, but as usual it's the 10% that are bad that get the attention...just like USAFA grads--we all get a bad rap for the 10% that are ass holes. I think the point, not to put words in anyone's mouth, is to illustrate why someone's spouse behaving in such a manner is a bad thing...I think maybe the thread has degenerated though...
  9. I prefer to punch them in the back of the head, but to each their own. I think it might be amusing to suggest to them that THEY are card carrying members of the fudge packers union...kind of curious how they would react...
  10. And it'll kill ya!
  11. Apollo...1+ haze in my left eye, eventually removed at Wilford Hall Medical Center through a reablation and mitomiocin C treatment (they burned the haze off with the "laser")
  12. I just wanted to let anyone who cares know, I finally got my PRK waiver after 6+ years of fighting including 3 visits to Brooks (after I got my pilot slot) 6 months as a HQ staff exec 5 months as a staff weenie  and extensive sweating and praying. Now the real work begins! For those who are still fighting, never give up. I had 2 waivers approved and pulled. I had orders to Laughlin 3 times. I had 4 waivers disapproved. I applied to the AD UPT board 4 times before I was selected. I PCSed 4 times in the last 10 months (including 2 in San Antonio). I Took the AFOQT and BAT twice. I went into debit to build my piddly 163 hours, and so on. For all those wondering what it takes, there's a small run-down. Remember, it doesn't matter how many times they say no, they only have to say yes once for you to succeed. If anyone who is still trying to get there has any questions feel free to PM me and we'll swap e-mail addresses. If anyone is in XL 06-13, I'll see you there! -G
  13. How come he looks all wrinkly here but he doesn't on his posters (like the ones they have at the librarys)?
  14. That would be him, I believe...4 Star USAFE/CC.

  16. I'm 29, went to the Academy, and can't spell wurth schitt.
  17. Right, whatever. I had a good time at USAFA...even as a frosh I partied on the weekends (the ones I could get out), I was in a cheesy cover band. Made some good friends that I know will always be there, and vice versa. Granted I didn't always follow all the rules except the golden rule: "Don't get Caught". Did some fun stuff you could only do there. It wasn't all fun and games...1st year kind of sucked, but I'm glad I went that route. FWIW.
  18. I can at least see getting on here to ask how to get started, but I can't believe someone would ask what they should do with their lives. Why would you ask someone else what will make YOU happy?
  19. I've got it on good authority that the xmsn will have NO problem taking the load (sts)
  20. Didn't sound that way to me. Sounds like he's activly trying to find options so his wife can work (a scenario I'm very familure with), or find some worthy pursuite for her.
  21. Never underestimate the power of "yes-men" and the senior leadership that encourages such behavior...I'm quite sure there was some arm twisting to get a unanimous vote, if there was a vote at all. One reason I was glad to be in AFSOC over there.
  22. Every time I show up at a base, he leaves...He was Wing King at Barkatraz when I got there but PCSed a couple months later and again when I got to HQ AETC, he was DO and PCSed with-in months...

  24. I use binders with document protectors, though at min I want to start putting them in "fire proof" boxes. At least 1 copy of ALL orders you recieve, all certificates, awards and decs and LESs for the last couple years is a good start. In some cases I print out e-mails as well if they have a long term significance. I think this was covered in a previous thread somewhere, might want to do a search.
