  1. Not that recent...we had folks going when I was in 17s and I've been out of them for a couple of years...there were a shit ton of dudes going to "white jets" of all kinds about the time I left...
  2. Noted. Now go fuck yourself. Over.
  3. Hey everybody lets have a big fucking argument about religion. I'm sure we'll finally sort it all out this time.
  4. Can't imagine why... By the way, guess who might be backing you up on your post sim travels now...
  5. Either I've seen WAY more nasty desert whales than some of you or I've really let my standards lapse...
  6. No shit. Just had that convo regarding career a few days ago...
  7. I don't understand your scale. The only scale I understand right now is "1" or "0"...
  8. Can't afford that much...
  9. Now THIS is the type of thread that keeps me coming back to the forum... Beats the shit out of the political pissing match of the week and the latest "why the AF failed me" whine fest... Please keep it up Gents... By the way, if you haven't already, I hope you get some of these memories in writing before they get too fuzzy...
  10. Can't remember the last, but the next one will be excellent...
  11. Woah, woah, woah... First of all, be specific. Don't just go throwing names around willey nilley. Second, so, you're a pilot? In the USAF? What's THAT like?
  12. First of all, have all nga flip on the device plus Foreflight, Wingex Pro, and a Garmin aps on it as well. My assessment after having used it for a couple months is viable and highly effective. Filed twice from the iPad without talking to FSS without a problem. That's with minamal effort, exposure and (admittedly) knowledge on the capes of the device. Looks like a lot more posibilities that are yet untapped. Those of who have flown/fly acft that are less than 40 years old have compatible outlets on the ACFT...also, if you use common sense, you'll charge it up before each flight you plan on using it on. Seems like a no brainer. Flew last sortie using it exclusively for checklists, pubs and approach plates. Up until Dec 2011 I didn't see the point...now I'm a convert...
  13. I think it's an unlawful detention issue. Hence why he kept asking if he was free to go.
  14. I haven't moved. Thanks for all the inputs. As mentioned I'm already a late rated former 21A (which I did for 6 years) so I wont be going in blind. A few more notes: it was suggested to me by the WG/CC in a discussion about my chances next year of making O5 IPZ as a possible way to strengthen my record. My DO thought it was a good idea but observed (as Cleared Hot suggested) that I will need to work my ass off to keep up with the flying. I think I'll give it a shot, and if anyone is interested/has questions I'll be happy to share my experience as things progress.
  15. Who said AFSOC?
  16. Apparently certain year groups in the MX Officer career field have significant short falls at my base and they are asking aircrew to help back-fill AMU OIC and MX Ops Officer (MOO) positions. The deal is that the rated folks would be allowed to continue flying and maintain currency but their main job would be MX for a given period. I was essentially offered such a position and since I am a former MX officer thought it might be a good fit/opportunity. My understanding is that in my case it would be to take over a MOO position. Apparently, also, It's an initiative that the WG/CC is a big proponent of. Does anyone on here have any experience with this sort of situation and/or an opinion on positives and negatives associated with it?
  17. Wait, Beavis and Butt Head are back on the air ?!
  18. Old people are slow...it probably took him that long to formulate the post. In anticipation of the response, I'll go ahead and go fuck myself preemptively... Actually I'm a few thousand miles away from the wife for a little while, so you can probably feel free to take that literally.
  19. Fuckin' A! I guess the recent batch of MOH recipients don't count as heroes in his book. Nor, apparently, do the dudes they pinned the AF Cross and Silver Star on at HRT yesterday... Just to list a few off the top of my head...not that you have to get a medal to be a hero…
  20. I’m taking my last class of the program now. I agree with all of the above. Like anything in life, you get out of it what you put into it. There were times when I was task saturated at work/home and was able to still knock out a class with minimum pain. At other times, I was able to put in a little more time and got something out of it. Three advantages that I see: 1. Almost no cost...even if you buy all the books it still doesn't even come close to what many pay for masters classes; 2. It hacks two requirements at once (if you're an O4 or O4 select); and 3. Work load isn't bad.
  21. Yeah great. Wonder if they know armadillos carry leprosy...
  22. Any opinions/thoughts on what the AF does would do with "off the shelf" civilian aircraft like the BE-350s and PC-12s? Remove the mil gear and sell or just scrap? I'm guessing scrap due to liability concerns etc...but maybe not. Thoughts?
  23. Know alot about the procedures used, do you? I submit that you do not.
