F16PilotMD, That's pretty funny. Wow, that's weird that you can't even use Rogain! Why is it that you can't use Rogain or Propecia?

Nope. Where I am it doesn't come out until June.

I read back a way and I see that pilots are not allowed to use Propecia. Is Rogaine allowed? Are hair transplants allowed? P.S. Why is Propecia not permitted?

Doc, I have never had a cavity in my life, but because I grind my teeth in my sleep I have had to get 3 gold grounds on my mollars. In addition I bashed in another tooth and had to get that fixed with a porcelan crown. Now I have four crowns and no cavities. Kinda weird! Will this be a problem when I get to Brooks? Is there a limit on the number of crowns and even what types that you can have? Any help would be appreciated!

MajorMadMax, Pretty interesting stuff. When you say that you've worked with people who have TS security clearances and beyond do you mean higher clearances than TS? If so what are they? Also, as a pilot if you go career and progress through the ranks and become say a full bird does your clearance increase with rank? I'm sure that it's also correlated to what your job is but how does that work? Or is it just the intel people that get to know who the second gunman was on the grassy null? (Take that with a grain of salt.)

Very interesting. I have a friend that works with bombs and missles, stuff like that and he said the same things about clearances. I guess it's because of all those people who "talked" to the other side over the years so now the government is a lot more paranoid about things. I have all my stuff in for the secret clearance but no interview yet. However, one night I did have this weird dream about all these men in white suits hovering over me and talking about where to put the implant. The next morning I woke up with a sore *ss. Could it be that they already put in the implant?

I know that pilots get Top Secret security clearances, but what do you need it for? I know that those of you who have the clearance cannot say much about it, but do you need it because of aircraft technology or something else like intel? Also, when you have a Top Secret clearance are you just limited to certain things or is it like a new world that opens up where you learn about all sorts of things that the military has? Maybe I'm being too curious too early but this stuff has always interested me since I was little and I'm actually starting to live it so I'm a little excited!

Concerning the written tests etc. What are they on? Probably everything, but are those really hard. Do they consist of things like aeromedical factors, aircraft performance, aviation weather, flight proceedures, engine specs and performance, math?

I was just wondering what the actual work load and a typical day is like at UPT. I know that there are some discussions on this, but why is it so increadibly hard? Is it because people get airsick, or because you have to processes a lot of information so quickely etc? Also, what kind of stuff do they do to you (PT, written tests, marksmanship, Officership etc?) I have read a lot about UPT but I can never find anything about stuff like I mentioned above. Any insight would be awesome!
