Cap-10 Are you adjusting the dimensions of the image (max width limit in pixels) before trying to upload? It may be at the root of it...

Gents The books are now here in my possession and ready to go out. I am going to coordinate with Uhhello to get on base and post them before the end of the week - I will post a message here to confirm that has happened. If you have asked for a copy, but have not yet arranged payment, now is a good time to do so. Similarly, if you would like a copy but have not PMd me, I have a small number of the 120 copies I ordered remaining - they will not last long! Thanks to Mr. Baseops for allowing me to peddle my wares here, and thanks to all of you who have purchased a copy. Cheers Steve

Ah, you guys crack me up!

Can we not turn this into a picture thread? I think that posting mug shots taken whilst wearing said blues should be mandatory.

Toro Give Firefox a try - it is mucho better than IE7, IMO. https://www.mozilla.com/en-US/products/firefox/ It also allows you to 'trust' a website via a bar that appears at the top of the browser window, so there's no need to dig around in menus like you have to with IE.

MD I wondered about that, but then I thought that if a criminal offense has been committed (presumably, an OSI agent leaking stuff is a criminal offense) then perhaps there is a legal precedent to temporarily shut down the site? I know zilch about American law, but over here, the law allows the enforcement of sub judice and the banning of reporting if it is seen as likely to prejudice any ongoing case.

Very much so, thanks. :)

What a load of wank. Firstly, whoever puts this shite together at militarycorruption.com needs to learn how to actually write. At the very least, they need to curb their hysterical tendency to use "quotation" marks for every popular saying or term of reference; it's totally condescening to the reader. Secondly, appealing to the mass media to carry the story and then actually failing to deliver the story is going to do militarycorruption.com no favours. And finally, someone needs to tell them that Moseley has already been sacked and is unlikely to be worried about being courtmartialled. Duh.

Thanks, Toro. Yes, I would be pleased to post via the APO if someone at LN or Mouldyhall will sponsor me on base. If there is someone who is going to be available to sign me on base at some point in the last two weeks of September, then that would be much appreciated. The best way to pay is via PayPal. My PP address is: ebay@fjphotography.com If you are internet-challenged, you may also pay cash or cheque.

Gents Many thanks for the support - PM container now empty. BREAK, BREAK To all those who have expressed an interest/confirmed intention to purchase a copy, I am going to use this thread to keep you all informed of the status of your order (i.e. how much postage across the pond is, and when the books have been posted). I have had so many interested Baseops members that it would take all day to PM you all. So, apologies in advance for the impersonal service! Feel free to PM me with specific Qs, though. As a starting point, I will be posting the air mail cost of sending the book across the pond on this thread later today. Cheers Steve

Thanks for the support, chaps. Thanks also to all those who have PMd me.

Posted with kind permission of Mr. Baseops: You'll have to excuse the blurb in the advert - it was written by the publisher's advertising people, and it's cheesy as hell. Suffice to say, the book is not at all cheesy. Anyway, if any Baseops members want to purchase a signed copy of the book for $20.00 (plus shipping), then please PM me. The book is out on 23 September, RRP $25.99, and here is the Amazon link. Here's a small excerpt from Part 2, Chapter 5: Table of Contents attached. redeaglestableofcontent.pdf

Also available on iTunes, which shows that 'Fixed Wing is Gay' is even more popular than 'Jet Pilot'!

U.S. bomb kills British soldiers in Afghanistan
Steve Davies replied to M2's topic in General Discussion
Cap-10 The coroner's inquest is still ongoing, as far as I am aware. In typical fashion, the Ministry of Justice promised the families that there would not be a long wait for the inquest to conclude, yet a year on they are still waiting. That wouldn't be quite so bad were it not for the fact that you guys completed your investigation into the incident quite some time ago (i have been told), leaving one to wonder what is taking the Coroner so long... I am still trying to find any report of this finding in the British media... nothing so far. -
Anyone know where Hydro went? I notice he has not logged on since September last year...

Kayla All aircraft have clocks in them, so I don't think that not having a watch is going to affect your ability to do regular ops checks. BD This thread has some good info on Aviator Watches

Gents (and Ladies) If the mods want to move this to the flying videos thread then I am sure they will, but I thought that this video was so damned good that it deserved its own thread. The Mach Loop The video was taken from a hill top in Wales where Air Forces from around Europe come and do their low flying. For the RAF, these low fly areas don't have a minimum altitude restriction, and for USAFE I believe the limit is 500' AGL. In this video, there is some good F-15E action, as well as a C-130J pass for you heavy types. The little black jets are BAe Hawk T.Mk 1As, and the guys flying them are students undergoing the Fast Jet portion of their flying training. I visited this hill with Hacker last year and can tell you that as the jets go over your head, you can hear the air ripping in their wake. This video conveys a little of that awe inspiring experience. Anyway, I hope that you enjoy, and kudos to the videographer for doing such a great job! Cheers Steve

Bendy Certainly under no illusions that this book would change his mind, but if it gives him pause for thought - or makes him hold back on his forthright and judgmental views - in the future, then that would be a positive outcome. Cheers Steve

Can anyone provide a postal address for Sgt 'Shame On You'? I am going to post him a copy of this book: FUBAR The author notes the need for such expressions, thus: Given that this Sgt has probably never experienced 'the heat of battle', or known what it was like to be shot at, he may learn a thing or two about why such expressions and slang still have their place in Iraq and Afghanistan today.
