True statement. Is this legit? So, yeah, I talked to both Mr. Peterson and the DPOAT, and they both kind of conceded to the Fighter Porch, so I'll probably have a TOS issue for this years board, regardless of whether or not I was even competitive to the board. Here's hoping for 7 consecutive miracles for this year's selection!

This. In my current situation, my SQ/CC is essentially holding my 1712 hostage until she finds out whether or not my WG/CC will support losing an 11F to a potential TPS assignment. Apparently, if my WG/CC won't let the AFSC go, then my commander won't support my application. You wouldn't happen to have a POC, would you? Thanks, again.

Hopefully last question...but kind of related to my previous. Are the applications for TPS supposed to be routed through your host wing/MAJCOM to AFPC, or are individual applicants to send in their package (sts) via the guidance from the latest PSDM on their own? Again, thanks for any and all help!

Anyone currently flying test have any insight into how sequestration is going to affect the DT world? Specifically, are the current financial issues plaguing going to have any tangible affects on this year's selection? Additionally, the change to the 99-107 now limits fixed-wing applicants to a 9 year, 6 month total TAFCS instead of the 10 year, 3 month from the previously issued regulation. With that being said, does anyone know the relative success rate for requested waivers for TAFCS? Thanks for any potential insight.

Same. There were some iterations of imagery approval, but the only info I've gotten since Oct/Nov timeframe was that "the case back design is with the Swiss manufacturing company." Any other requested info since then is something along the lines of "we're not sure, we'll check with the Swiss and let you know next week." Rinse, repeat.

Same thing with an order from the F-15E community. Initial paperwork turn-in was August.

Seriously, dude, can you promise that you'll stop posting on here when you finally do get kicked out of the military?
-
You can't possibly believe this, do you?
-
No there doesn't. A SQ/CC from Lakenheath was fired a few years ago for failing a PT test.

So...SOS no longer has Blues Mondays.

Blues Monday still in effect at Mountain Home according to the WG/CC and his mandatory Monday commander's call...

US military raid in Somalia frees American, Dane
R-Dub replied to Majestik Møøse's topic in General Discussion
Don't get me wrong, I'm happy these two were finally rescued, but don't put any more thought into this than the timing was very politically driven. If the US AFRICOM could pull their heads from their anal orifices, these two would have been rescued a LONG time ago. Election year State of the Union address at the same time as a HOA hostage rescue? ALR just went up. Bottom Line: the US government took advantage of a situation in which the country is very lucky the hostages are still alive after this long. -
There is some truth in this statement among the clutter of rationalizations, but the reason the "COCOM" didn't use the F-22 was not an issue of "not needing" them, but rather, the "COCOM" didn't know HOW to use them. You do realize who the CFACC was, don't you? Did you see how effed the ATO/CAOC responsibilities/chain of command is for that specific AOR?

To his credit, he didn't receive lines 4 and 6...

Slacker, that's a rediculous question...along those same lines, what's Michigan's all-time record against SEC teams? We all know how good Michigan has played in big games over the past 5 years...and any games last year...so is that a quantitative indication of the weakness of the SEC?

The reason you're wrong here is that CC ranking really isn't worth 50% of your OM...look up the actual formula for calculating OM and you'll see that it's only variable among 25 pts...you get 25 points guaranteed, as long as you're the infinitieth cadet out of a pool of infinity cadets. In reality, you're almost ALWAYS guaranteed to get around 35 pts. on your OM just for showing up and making it to your junior year in ROTC while applying for a pilot slot. Do anything significant, and you've already made it to 38-40. Piece of puss. And then you follow it up with a lame excuse about flight time...it's hard to get the USAF to pay for flight time if you don't get a pilot slot. If you don't get any flying time, you're PCSM is REALLY going to take a hit. Get some flight time under your belt and you're going to do just fine with your PCSM, making your chance for a pilot slot that much better. It doesn't take much flight time to get some easy points. The difference between a maxed out PT score and a barely passing PT score on OM is 2.5 points. Wow...that's REALLY something...seriously though, take the time to PT because you HAVE the time and the self-respect to not be a fat-ass. If you're lucky enough to get into a fighter squadron, you'll see how difficult it is to make the time to get adequate work-out time. I would say this is pretty accurate. Pass your classes, have fun, chase girls, figure out whether or not you enjoy flying BEFORE you get to pilot training, and take advantage of the only time in your life that you're old enough to get into trouble and young enough to get away with it!

Here's a few questions I've thought of about the FTU: - Are there a lot of direct support sorties in the syllabus at SJ versus pilot with an IP in the backseat? - How many student "team" sorties are there in the syllabus where student pilots and WSOs are paired together to fly? - Are there opportunities to sandbag sorties at the FTU in the event that there are direct support sorties? - What's the ASD in the Strike Eagle? Is the intent of each sortie to try and maximize training by carrying full bags of gas and full internals (exception: maybe not on BFM/ACM training sorties; no externals due to likely combat jet in the event of an A/A engagement?)? Thanks for any insights.

I guess subtlety and sarcasm shouldn't be used at the same time?!?!

Is that a Garmin next to the left side of the canopy?

There's always a lot of talk about the drops of -15Es revolving around the RTU class schedule, which begs the question...what are the typical start times (months of the year) for the classes?

I wish...

Is the real estate market really that good in San Antonio to buy a house and turn it in one year? Is that pretty typical for dudes at Randolph?

Pay and allowance questions (flight, hazard duty, family separation)

Here's two pieces of information I can offer that should get you some money in less than a week: 1. Get the pay advance when you go to Finance. You can get a one to three month pay advance that, in effect, acts like an interest free loan. You need commander's authorization for any amount over one month of base pay advance, but I found that just around $2,000 plus any DITY move reimbursements that you might get holds off the bills for a few weeks. 2. Keep going back to Finance and NEVER left the A1C across the desk tell you that there's nothing they can do and you just walk out. Once you're loaded into DFAS, it really doesn't take long...they really should just do they're job and access you into the system. EDIT: Also, with MyPay, just like the website says, it'll take between 6-8 weeks before you can access your online LES...for example, I completed my Finance inprocessing sometime around 5 Jun but wasn't able to access my LES statements until my July end of the month statement.
