... the dating platform "Plenty of Fish"... YGBSM. Sounds like these two were made for each other.

Not exactly. His wife survived the attack. The woman that ran up to help out didn't survive.

It's very popular on social media! Bummer I was DNIF and missed it this year. I won't make that mistake in 2024.
-
Probably should let it play out, like most mishaps. The T-6 loss affected a number of us. Devyn was awesome.

"Provide them the opportunity to reapply." I'm sure their application with be fast-forwarded through AFPC and they will be welcomed back with open arms.

Has anybody been fired or held accountable for this foolishness? https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/39945/the-air-force-spent-134m-to-repair-39-hail-damaged-t-1-jet-trainers-its-about-to-retire For a jet worth under $1M. Unsat.

The demise of the O'Club on Friday is something I miss. We used to have standard Friday stuff happening in the squadron... and around 1700 we would head to The Big House, meet the wives, and have a great time. The camaraderie among the wives was pretty high back then, as a result. They did some pretty funny shit and managed to avoid getting arrested on base. There were two years in a row when Hiram Walker sponsored an ACC Crud Tournament at D-M and the winners (Moody AFB) got a $10,000 check. It was absolutely epic. The D-M Wing CC gave the opening remarks and I was expecting the usual bullshit-cover-your-ass. Not so much. He pretty much said "fight's on" and have a great time... and still made 2-stars. I recall that every ACC base but one sent a team TDY the first year. I simply cannot imagine that happening in today's climate. Our Beale team didn't win, but we did show up to the bar at 0930 on Saturday and didn't depart until 0230 Sunday. What a weekend.

https://www.newsweek.com/us-women-soccer-team-silence-national-anthem-debate-1814688?amp=1 Maybe when Rapinoe leaves, things will change since the cancer will be mainly gone. Is it foolish/outdated of me to think that USWST coaching and management should demand some better behavior, in general?

I didn't see the game but I read that Vietnam didn't get a single worthy shot on goal. True?
-
Haha! You have that much faith in DoD / AF IT capabilities? My cynicism doesn't come from only the fact that we still use ePEX after 20 years. Or that Finance or MPF doesn't have IT support that makes working with them easy. The AF puts the "IT" in shit.

In other news, United Airlines pilots draft agreement going forward has a "medical freedom" clause (as does Delta's) so they cannot fire pilots for refusing to take a vaccination.
-
Can they? Yes. Have any yet? I don't think so. There is nothing in the application that addresses prior active duty. From a flying viewpoint, it wouldn't matter. But I'm sure there are unwritten considerations too.
-
Well... if you turn off PCS' to EUCOM, you need to send Reserves to EUCOM. Someone's gotta do the work! Duh!
-
-
There have also been a few Reservists that were selected for The Delta. Are you asking about TB pilots? Or TB enlisted billets?
-
I am old... not Dutch.
-
Well... the silver lining is that it doesn't matter. The airline hiring is so intense that if you're a KC-46 pilot, you'll get called for an interview.
-
Haha! Thanks. Sopwith didn't have good cockpit ergonomics, ya know. Surgery went well and I'm in recovery mode. I hope to be flying around late September again.
-
Good on you for that thought process. We have had a few pilots in the past that ran here for the wrong reason... and they were miserable. It makes for a rough relationship. Best of luck. I did 2 tours in AETC (DLF & RND), and enjoyed the experience and flying (I can see the eye rolls already).

The U-2 community is small, and I can think of three in the past five years that have done so. If I rack my brain, probably a few more. The most recent left AA late last year on 4th year pay and came to UAL. Odd data point: I had lunch with a guy last year that did 14 years at SWA... took the early retirement at age 61.5... and came to UAL.

And then what? Something like that happened at United years ago... and when it went to court, the union was found guilty of creating an illegal job action. It's a very, very delicate tightrope maneuver.
-
It means they believe they are at an impasse and they want to continue to move toward a strike. It's difficult to actually get the govt to allow an airline to strike... almost impossible under this Administration. And even if they did, there are (I think) three 30-day cooling down periods in the process. it's mainly symbolic.

Why not? They took a washed up FAIP who was his squadron commander's least favorite IP.
