Were you ever an AETC Instructor Pilot? -
A great rebuttal to LT Granville's poorly written letter. https://www.askskipper.com/

For a brief time around 2004, this was the plan being strongly considered by AETC HQ.

Steve, Didn't the early prototypes have Douglas seats? I doubt those were M-Bs.

Push to integrate deaf individuals into the AF

If this is implemented, will deaf people be allowed to jog on base wearing headphones? -
I've known a few guys that successfully did the crossflow. But I'm guessing I'm missing your point. I applied to the crossflow but lost out to a B-52 guy. He went to Strike Eagles, and did quite well.

HuggyU2 replied to mar96's topic in Air National Guard / Air Force Reserves
I believe your plan is pretty solid. Now, you just need to execute it. -

That's because ACC didn't exist back then.

I watched a relative join the Guard recently off the street, and was NOT impressed. Way worse than AD. UAL -

I commuted from Rocklin to Beale for 13 years. Now that the bypass is built, it is not too bad. With a hands-free device and/or podcasts, you can be productive during that time. There's a reason the houses cost more in Rocklin: it's a great town. https://www.kcra.com/news/rocklin-named-best-ca-city-for-young-families/30574384 Rocklin High School was ranked the #1 school in the greater Sacramento area. And while you don't have kids, you should understand that it reflects significantly on the town. Low crime, white collar. Lincoln will save you 5-15 minutes on your commute, depending which part of Lincoln. If you have an airplane or like to skydive, Lincoln Airport has houses near it, and they have easy access to the Highway 65 bypass.

Any word on how Chewy is doing? BTW... no post-impact fire... despite some significant damage to the nose. -

New SECAF online Town Hall Meeting today 1530EST
HuggyU2 replied to panchbarnes's topic in General Discussion
Beale has tried for over 15 years, at the grassroots level, to get a Guard/Reserve component for the U-2. We've shown a number of ideas to make it work, but leadership will not push it forward. -

Long read... But well worth it. "The most curious thing about our four defeats in Fourth Generation WarLebanon, Somalia, Iraq, and Afghanistanis the utter silence in the American officer corps. Defeat in Vietnam bred a generation of military reformers Today, the landscape is barren. Not a military voice is heard calling for thoughtful, substantive change. Just more money, please."

Based on when they will probably cancel the U-2, most of the younger pilots will go to the new U-4 transonic high altitude recon platform. A handful may be initial cadre in the SR-76. Some of the older pilots will go to AETC to fly the T-52 trainer (an Alenia M-346). A few will get to fly the new T-6 replacement.

Concur. I'm still surprised... after the pain and suffering by others that participate in Facebook... that many still feel the internet is an alternative "Squadron Bar". It's the internet folks. In fact, it's BO.net, which has a significant number of toolbags in the population. These are not "my bros". Reason #76 why I spend less and less time around this site. In my former community, I couldn't even imagine that this type of thing would be posted on the internet by one of "the bros". We certainly have "lively and colorful discussions"... but we keep to ourselves. If someone posted these comments about the wife or fiancee of one of us, it would not go over well at all. That said, it's the internet, and you are entitled to express yourself. However, the lack of tolerance by those that consider themselves tolerant of anything is nothing short of hypocritical. They justify it by a "chill out" or "get a thicker skin"... yet they are the ones telling dissenters to fuck off because they are the intolerant ones. Toro, As the moderator, you've done great work on this forum, and we appreciate it. People aren't infallible, however. And your post was a mistake. As the moderator, your job is to moderate. It is NOT to tell someone who disagrees with you to fuck off,... and then offer to help them disable their account if they can't take a joke. That type of chest thumping by a moderator is a foul. And you... of all people... should understand the 2nd and 3rd order effects of squadron bar talk going online. After having the letter to a lowly college ROTC cadet go viral, and getting spanked by General Kwast, you are the poster child for "this should stay in the squadron, with the bros". I don't know what kind of punishment, what Letter of Reprimand you received, or how long you were grounded, but you certainly laid low around here for some time. And while I'm sure you are like the rest of us, and yuck it up now that it's been a few years, I'm betting you weren't real fond of the internet for a while. And finally... to tell us that because we feel the comments are in very bad taste, that we are responsible for SARC training... it's absurd, you know it's absurd, and it does nothing but reduce your standing as a moderator on this board.
