  1. Thank you for the kind words, Spoo.
  2. Correct. Since when has Mr Obama ever been ignorant about the perceptions he gives out? He has always been very astute and calculating when it comes to his public actions. He simply doesn't care.
  3. Wow. You'd think the co-pilot would have just given him a hand.
  4. Can any of you tell me if Gregg Dotter or Lee Brumley are still IP's at IFS?
  5. And by all accounts that I'm aware of, she is an outstanding choice. Simon Sinuk occasionally references her in his presentations.
  6. Call the testing center and ask. You're welcome.
  7. Look on the back of the aero orders you have, or that you got from Flight Records. It,should be the first paper in your flight records folder. It will show you everyone in your UPT Class (minus anyone that washed back and into your class). Then, just remember who graduated and who didn't.
  8. I'd say Napolitano is qualified to weigh in on this: https://p.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/jun/4/napolitano-when-the-president-disregards-the-law/ Also... I wonder how the guys that were busy on this day in 1944 would react to some of the posts here. Actually, I don't wonder. I'm pretty sure I know. And having been heavily involved with the annual POW reunion at Randolph for three years, the character of the men that I met through that event stands in sharp contrast to what I see in Mr Bergdahl.
  9. You make some good points. I appreciate your response. And yes... I hope you are right too.
  10. Of course, I'm pleased he is free. However, I do not share in your enthusiastic willingness to free 100 Al Qaeda terrorists to do it. Sounds like you'd support him making statements against the US, as long as it serves his interests to get free. Again, there is a reasonable limit. Whether he was very stupid, or just in the wrong place at the wrong time may be determined in the near future. But that has no bearing on whether he should be freed. Capitulating to our enemy by giving in to whatever works for them is not acceptable. Welcome to the military. (Surprisingly, you may even die.) Keep in mind that 3 Americans died looking for him, and the amount of resources used to find him was astronomical. For his sake, I hope his capture wasn't a result of him doing something really dumb. Ask the JPRC folks what their take on this is.
  11. This is an aviation "urban legend". Pilots have speculated about this for a long time. But the proof is in the results. We all know plenty that have been hired at companies other than SWA while in possession of a 73 type. The Legacies simply do not care.
  12. What I see is military hardware manufactured in the land of our former Soviet enemy, flown by those that defeated them. They tried to be the 10' giant back in the days of the Cold War. But they failed. We won. And these are the trophies of our victory.
  13. Do you have a profile?
  14. So... how many people do you know that are in "corporate flying" (as you put it)?
  15. Myself and 2 others from Beale took a day off and flew to Half Moon Bay to attend Eddie's funeral. Saw another BODN pilot from Beale too who drove the 6 hour round trip to be there. We arrived at the Catholic Church about 35 minutes early. We stood in line about 30 min and were turned away. They physically could not get anymore people in the church. I would estimate the crowd at 700-800. It was an unbelievable outpouring of love for Eddie. There was a 4-ship of Mustangs that made 2 passes over the church after Mass. Low and fast. He was a guy that went out of his way to make everyone smile. He was a friend and mentor to so many. He was a great entertainer, airshow pilot, and warbird owner. He is missed.
  16. Great idea! We can start with the FAIP that came to U-2s for 3 years... then to F-16s, where he was a DG at FTU... then onto Shaw where he was a below the zone promotion... to Australia where he flies Hornets now.
  17. I've seen too many times where CFR is having a BBQ at the fire station, and kicking back watching the show with family, not even dressed out. Totally complacent. I'm hearing it was 5 minutes on the response, based on video/photo time stamps. I wonder if they realize how survivable many crashes are, and how they need to arrive quickly to save someone from the fire. I also have to wonder if mentally they are still thinking "large cargo aircraft" scenarios where they need to contain the fire. If the trucks were behind the crowd line, without a straight shot to show center, then someone didn't THINK. They should probably have crews on each corner marker that are suited up and ready. I'm eager to hear exactly what happened WRT the responders. I am so saddened and furious at the same time.
  18. Just Just a reminder.... bitchez..
  19. Knock, knock? He had been retired about 25 years by the time he met Victoria. This article is about 10'years old... but still interesting. https://articles.latimes.com/2004/jul/02/entertainment/et-hubler2
  20. No big (public) news. But it appears to be getting intense. Interesting times.
  21. No, it is your poor reading comprehension. The PREREQUISITES for the practical ARE what we are discussing. THIS is what the change is primarily about. You have to do the new prep after 31 July. There is no conspiracy to steal your money by Sheppard Air.
  22. OK,... let's speculate. 1. How long until military pilots begin to get their ATPs under the new rules? Sure, there will be a few that porked it away and didn't get the ATP written done by 31 July, and then realize they need it. And, of course,... starting 1 Aug 2016, it will be everyone. But will ATP business pick up sooner? Or later? 2. How much will an ATP cost in the new environment? Discuss.
  23. Of course it is... Quitter.
  24. I arrive Friday at 0930. Name tag says HUGGY Name on the side of the jet will say "HUGGY". Short grey hair. Prematurely grey. I'm only 31 years old. Big forehead. Most people call it a fivehead. 5'10", 200#. I will still beat most of you in the PT test... Even with my artificial hip. I'll generally be with Kent Pietsch (performer). Come say hi and join us.
  25. $22 says those that chime in will say "you can, as long as you avoid commuting".
