And there is the problem. I have an interesting perspective on this decline of the line between officer and enlisted. I am a current TSgt but am also the son of a retired O-6. I am a 130 loadmaster and he was a 130 pilot. He speaks the language and gives me insight into real old school leadership. I can assure you he reads this thread and is absolutely disgusted with the current leadership overseas. The AF is headed down a real slippery slope with this type of buffoonery in the AOR. It is almost like there are two different Air Forces. One stateside and the other is this laughed at bunch of morons in the AOR. When do these Air Forces converge? When does it become the norm that Es start harassing Os stateside? Why should a MSgt respect a Capt stateside when he doesn't have to respect him in the AOR? We should also keep in mind the level of authority and influence that these MSgts have over 18 and 19 year old AMN who will eventually be the enlisted leaders of this AF. As an NCO, I ask of all of you officers out there... put these Es in their place. Take back this AF. I have no problem doing my part as a E. Edit for drinking and posting... What is the accident rate for folks getting run over by a bus? Has the accident rate gone down since the introduction of the reflective belt? My point is that these things are not usefull at all. They aren't good for a damn thing except giving powerless shoe clerks more power than they need. I have a complete lack of confidence in senior officers. How are they so blind that they allow the basic officer/enlisted relationship to completely fall apart. MSgts grabbing LTs trays at chow halls? Really?

Let me set this up. I am at LRAFB but in the Guard. There is a four way stop that seperates the Guard facilities from the active duty side. For those that are familiar with LRAFB it is the intersection where the RF-101 and RF-84 are located. There is a cop that sits a ways away but can still see folks that roll the stop signs at the intersection. By the time he catches up with folks driving to the ops building, they are already in a parking spot and getting out of the car. We have a two story building and love to watch all of this unfold. We have had a couple old crusty LTCs just keep walking away from the SF AMN. Late last week we had one of our command post ladies get pulled for rolling the stop sign. It was suggested that we all set off our car alarms using the panic buttons on our key chains. There must have been 30 car alarms going off all around that dude in his SF pickup. He had no idea what to do and looked like a complete idiot. Not 20 minutes after this we had a mass email from the Guard SF guys asking us to behave and follow the rules on the base. The AD had obviously called them. Not 30 minutes after that I went to lunch through the same intersection and there were no less than four AD SF cars waiting in various parking lots with two more having already pulled somebody else over. Just goes to show how much time they have on their hands....

I find it interesting that in 2 pages of gay talk here on Baseops that there is barely any gay bashing like there has been in threads past. Why is that? Is it because he was a fellow aviator? He is a great poster boy for allowing gays into the military. What a great example. He is a combat proven aviator. He is well spoken. And according to him and a few people here his gayness went undetected for 18 years. I am not stupid enough to fall for this. Do people really think every gay person that is going to serve in the military is going to keep it hidden for 18 years if they do away with don't ask don't tell? Because in reality we are dealing with the military as a whole. When people speak of ruining good order, morale and discipline they are speaking of the average army dude hanging out in the barracks acting gay as gay gets. If you do away with don't ask don't tell you will be dealing with a flaming ###### who WILL ruin good order, morale and discipline. I am glad they found the perfect gay dude to be the poster boy for the liberal media who can put pressure on Obama and make him do right on his campaign promise of getting rid of the policy. Bottom line is gays do not belong in the military. My last question is this. What behavior did he show to get turned in? If he did not say anything and the Air Force did not ask then how did anyone know?

Twice in the last week we have had SF pull over people in our squadron parking lot. The offense was not coming to a complete stop for at least 3 seconds at a stop sign.

I bet Col Robin Olds had a similar change of command ceremony.

I am curious how much distance was between the pirate ship and the destroyer the SEALS were on. Must have been pretty tough for a sniper to get the shot with both boats moving on the water. They are bad mother ######ers no doubt. I am glad they are on our team.

Seriously people. Quit giving bad advice to people who really just want an honest answer. Tracer Tong, how formal of an event is this? I think you should take off the name tag, lapels and ribbon from the jacket. That way you can wear the whole suit. Just do not wear a brown belt and shoes.

I work with an ex security forces guy. He tells a story that while stationed at Whiteman one of the SF guys he worked with was doing drugs and obviously did not want to get caught. He figures they might do a random room inspection at his base dorm while he is at work. So he puts the drugs in his BDU pants pocket and heads off to work at the SF headquarters building. He no more than walks in and heads down the main hallway where one of the dog handlers has his drug dog walking the opposite direction down the hallway. You guessed it.... dog is all over this guys pocket. Busted. He has a funny SF buffoonery story as well. They had to do hourly inspections at the Whiteman bomb dump (door seals, locks etc..) One guy would go and break open chem sticks and poor it all over the door area so it glowed green. Other guy would have the newest SF dude in the truck doing the inspections. Newest guy would be told to get out and go check it out. Driver pulls out chem mask from under the seat puts it on and locks the truck doors. Hilarity insues as the totally confused new guy flips out and can not get back into the truck as it drives off. At least they have a little fun while they are not writing tickets for 2 miles over the speed limit.

The 69th has been a B-52 squadron before. There was also a 69th Fighter Squadron that flew F-16s at Moody. What is the big deal?

Maternal Grandfather was a Marine in WW2. Fought in the Pacific. Paternal Grandfather was in the Army WW2. Fought in Europe. Dad is a retired O-6 and C-130 pilot. I am a C-130 loadmaster.

We are going through the same process. I would start with the Sq/CC and see if he/she has any ideas. Alot of units use an older version of the patch. If your unit is old enough you may find that it used a much different patch from say WWII. We are using our units version during the Korean war. Also, you may find some ideas on usafpatches.com under the gallery section.
