First off, used the 'search' function to no avail.
Does anyone here know where one could pick up a nice military logbook? (the manual kind) I've tried searching the internet and can't seem to find any. Any help would be appreciated.
Reading about 90% of the topics on here for starters...shall we count how many times the search function advice is given for this one?
For example: DOING WELL IN UPT!
Checking NOTAMS, technique only. Oh yeah, pass me another brew...I need to quickly drink it because our scheuled takeoff is in 5 hours!! Just kidding. That is unless you fly for America West.
I can totally relate. One night, 5 of us thought it would be a good idea to hang out at the Brit club in the CAOC. One of us had a CAOC badge and was going to sign us all in. Well, one of the other guys didn't have their ID card...but we all vouched for the guy and was let in. After our "3" beers at the Muff, we started to make out way to the Camp Andy chow hall for some midnight munchies. And wouldn't you know it...the guy who didn't have his ID card (who was let into the CAOC) wasn't allowed to partake in some biscuits and gravy, and was told that he had to have his ID in order to eat. That just cracks me up!!
I can't wait to go back
Great stories. Not wearing my disco belt was the one way for me to rebel against "the man". However, the man purse rocks! You can fit quite a bit in it...including: cash, paper coins from AAFES, Beer card, chapstick, id card, etc.
Sommerset on Okaloosa Island (Ft Walton Beach). When I was there they had a pretty long wait list, but well worth it because its directly on the beach.
There are a few nice apartments in Destin, however the drive to either Eglin or Hurlburt is a long one, especially in the summer months with the tourists and all.
By the way, go to the housing office and request a print out of townhomes/condos for rent, that how I found my sweet condo.
Good for her...is she hot? Just kidding, I don't want to revive that thread again!
I do know several females that fly a better jet than most males.
I just hope it isn't based solely on recruitment.
Hope this helps:
Most of the C21 squadrons have around 13 jets...ours is the newest squadron (Peterson) and we have 9 jets right now, about to get the 10th at the end of the summer. As far as pilots go, we have about 45 pilots.
The copilot situation: we have seen a decrease in the amount of copilots entering the unit. I think its mainly because we're almost fully manned for the squadron level. We have a few guys nearing the end of their tour, so I figure we'll be getting a few new folks coming in soon.
Most guys in the 21 upgrade to AC @ the 1-year on station time frame. You also need a minimum of 400 hours in the 21. For IP upgrade...all you need is 100 hours of AC time (in the C21). I would say that about 75% our guys going through IP school are 1Lts.
I'm not sure if you can access GDSS from a non-.mil computer, but you can access SMS. That is, if you just want to view flights, etc.
https://sms.transcom.mil
You have to get an SMS password, which usually takes a day or two.
Does anyone know where I can find the reg that states when TDY to a location and staying less than 24 hrs, you do not require a Letter of Non-A if staying at other than gov't quarters?
I am contantly battling our finance office on getting paid when RON somewhere for one night and I stay offbase with no Non-A letter.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
