  4. The above quote was actually made by Goin2UPT... So I guess you finally found a use for that scarf after all? Good for you!
  5. Where did you get those made? I'd like to be able to get some w/ my school. Thanks. Cowboy
  6. We had a guy in our sister flight in Tones who had an "emergency" one day. While he was sitting the jumpseat, he slipped into the back without anyone seeing him. He just forgot one thing...the TP. He made his way back to the jumpseat undetected. He also failed to mention any of this to mx. (Keep in mind this is Del Rio in the summer) The next day, the SQ/DO was scheduled to fly that same tail #. To his surprise, in the toilet lay Mr. Hankey...Hideeeee Hoooooooe SQ/DO! To make matters even worse, they seemed to be missing quite a few pages from their TX Low Vol 10. Ouch!
  7. I, too would be interested in a good list of MARS radio freqs. I used to have a descent list, but lost it somehow during my last move. Anyone?

  10. Actually there are aircraft stationed there @ FFO. The 54th Airlift Squadron...flies the mighty C-21. They have about 9 or 10 jets right now and about 50 or so pilots. In my biased opinion, I think that casual guys have it made in C-21 units...not only do they not have to do much, if anything, but they can ride along any C-21 missions. Also, there are occasionally a 141 or two that fly out to Hawaii...so you could hop on those space-a. Wright Pat isn't all that bad of an assignment. Enjoy.
  11. Right next to Staten Crossing are apartments called Three Oaks. I lived there for my 6 months of T-6. For a 2BR w/fireplace, rent was around $500. They weren't as new as Staten Crossing, but they were still ok, and less $$. They had 2 big pools which my classmates and I would always hold bar-b-ques every Friday afternoon/evening. The apartments had a good mix of military, college students, and regular folks.
  12. LJ Driver is correct...it used to be guys would have either a Strat (C-5,C-17), tanker (KC-135, KC-10), or Tac (C-130) follow on. They would get this follow on when they received their C-21 assignment. Times have changed. I am one of the first groups in the C-21 who are going to be competing for their follow on. There are a lot of variables that go into getting your next assginment. Mostly is how your C-21 commander views you...as he has the most say in what your next assignment will be. Having said that, there are times in which guys who have taken care of business get the shaft because there isn't much to choose from out there. I guess they figure you had your "good deal" already. How does the old addage go...there are no bad flying assignments?
  13. For my airlift brethren: 1.- The PILOT always make THE RULES. 2.- THE RULES are subject to change at any time without prior notification. 3.- No CO-PILOT can possibly know all THE RULES. 4.- If the PILOT suspects the CO-PILOT knows all THE RULES, he must immediately change some or all THE RULES. 5.- The PILOT is never wrong. 6.- If the PILOT is wrong, it is due to a misunderstanding which was a direct result of something the CO-PILOT did or said wrong. 7.- The CO-PILOT must apologize immediately for causing such misunderstanding. 8.- The PILOT may change his mind at any time. 9.- The CO-PILOT must never change his mind without the express written concern of the PILOT. 10.- The PILOT has every right to be angry or upset at any time. 11.- The CO-PILOT must remain calm at all times unless the PILOT wants him to be angry and/or upset. 12.- The CO-PILOT is expected to mind read at all times. 13.- The PILOT is ready when he is ready. 14.- The CO-PILOT must be ready at all times. 15.- Any attempt to document THE RULES could result in body harm. 16.- The CO-PILOT who doesn't abide by THE RULES is grounded
  14. Even C-21s pilots get some combat time these days. No shooting anything though...that is unless you consider "dropping bombs" inside the jet expending ordinance. ---Unarmed & Unafraid
