Obama: US to boost military presence in Europe
FallingOsh replied to Blueman's topic in General Discussion
Attack! It took us a year and a half to close that squadron after sequestration and now he's boosting our European presence. It's just one insane situation after another. What the fuck is happening? -
Exactly. It's the same way we ended up with CSEL. I always think of Homer Simpson's car design when people discuss programs like LCS, CSEL, JSF, etc.
-
No. No reason. I've never had an issue with normal functions in the past so I didn't know to try toggling bbcodemode. Thanks
-
Windows 7 IE 11 With BBCodeMode off, I can get it to work. With BBCodeMode on, no workie. I can turn BBCodeMode off, click QUOTE, and then turn BBCodeMode back on to make the quote container look correct.
-
Be a good Airman by picking up trash and getting adequate rest. Give your car back after you've earned retirement. Yeah, Dover really fucking gets it.
-
My quote buttons don't work at all. I click "Quote" and it drops to the reply container, but it's blank. No auto-populated quote box. MultiQuote doesn't work either. I've had this issue for several months. Any ideas?

And leave them at the first stopover location for 2-3 weeks while waiting on a replacement aircraft.

FY 14 Force Management Program (RIF, VSP, TERA)
FallingOsh replied to AOF_ATC's topic in General Discussion
It baffles me that senior leaders can't figure out why morale and retention are in the street. -
Same shit, different medium... Why can I have enough gigs in my Yahoo account to hold emails from college, but my AF Outlook locks up after sending one attachment? And does anyone else have issues with the quote buttons on this forum?

FY 14 Force Management Program (RIF, VSP, TERA)

How low-threat does war have to be before sugary drinks become the potential risk to airmen? Maybe bronze stars are in order for everyone who braved the hazardous fluid intake (sts).
-
Both of these. Sadly, it would be a real breath of fresh air if senior leadership actually focused on the mission for a change. We have so many distractions (uniform regs, CBTs, PME, advanced education, budget cuts, fund raisers, CFC, MICT, CUI, UEI, etc.) that most days are spent on everything except the mission. I could retire if I had a dollar for every day I asked, "what the fuck are we doing here?" Focus your Group on the mission. Stop telling everyone they're warriors. Stop telling everyone how they are the most important people in the military. This breeds a sense of entitlement that leads to discipline problems, laziness, and severe attitude issues. We wonder why there are insubordination issues and sexual assault problems in the military. It's because we've given an entire generation of people the impression that they can do whatever they want because they are special warriors. Instead, try to instill a sense of responsibility and respect. Explain to people that they are accountable for their actions and they are replaceable if they aren't willing to move the Group towards completing the mission.

Well now that you've learned your lesson, are you guys hiring?
-
To me, this is an obvious one. Joe-blow ROTC grad only has a 4-5 year commitment. The average non-rated officer who wanted out could get out pretty fucking fast compared to pilots who have 10 years plus training. Non-rated officers can pretty much jump ship after each assignment. How did AFPC not have a plan for discriminating between pilot VSP applications? Why are boobs good? How does posi-trac work?
-
That Wing Commander should be fired. Not kidding.

Anyone have a bead on any drone companies capitalizing on civilian use?
-
I'm surprised that anyone is surprised by this.

In the event the Air Force is abolished, 11F is exempt and will report to work on Monday.

What was the title of this thread again?

. The fed has quietly dipped into TSP funds several times in order to stay under the debt ceiling. They're using your retirement funds to float their overspending. Of course they promise to pay it all back. Do not, under any circumstance, trust the government with handling money intelligently. If your retirement plan relies on any form of government money, you're wrong.

Air Force 2027: Fewer Pilots, More Drones, More Challenges
FallingOsh replied to hobbitcid's topic in General Discussion
So there's no such thing as people of different skill level? If a person doesn't have the skill or cognitive ability to fly any plane in the inventory then they shouldn't be graduating pilot training? -
This sounds like a survey that I've helped judge a few times. I also got two free drinks with my entry fee.

Average women in a military setting quickly become hot, and therefore are not acceptable. The average army woman is less than average by civilian average standards which means ugly women will have to be hired in order to meet the average category of Army standards. If all women are civilian ugly, and therefore Army average, the new average will contain ugly women who are now Army standard hot. Conclusion, women can't serve in combat.

I do. That's exactly what I said. We do demand this. Our leadership returns the favor by slapping us in the face. They call us rapists and racists and file paperwork for using foul language. They use us as sacrificial lambs to prove to their bosses how they're tackling the sexual assault problem. Our leaders demand we shoulder the work while also being shit on and blamed for their inept leadership shortfalls. We do. The only people accusing us of not showing all Airmen respect are hypocrites like you who have never spent one single operational day in a fighter squadron. I spent about an hour reading a summary of every sexual assault conviction the Air Force has experienced from 2009-2013. Guess how many fighter pilots were on that list. I assume you didn't read the same report so I'll give you the answer. It's zero. I asked the SARC at my last base how many sexual assaults were reported across each Group. Guess what Group was the only Group with zero reported. I'll give you the answer. The Ops Group. The Group with the absolute lowest amount of reported offenses is the same goddam Group being blamed for all of the problems. You go on and on about our stupid frat boy traditions and how we need to clean our acts up in order to keep the military in order. WE ARE LITERALLY THE ONLY GROUP WHO IS ACTING LIKE PROPER MILITARY MEN. YOU ARE CHASING DOWN THE WRONG GROUP OF PEOPLE. Look at reality. Look at the facts. Focus your efforts on a group of people that need your attention. We aren't doing this. Look at the facts. Put your biased personal opinions aside and look at the reports. Read the facts. The Ops Group is NOT where you need to focus your hunt. Maybe they did. Those dudes aren't us. Don't give yourself that much credit. You didn't grow us. You didn't allow us to grow. The same personality type has been flying and/or fighting in wars for centuries. It's you who will be the downfall our military. It's you who will send every warfighter to pasture in favor of a more docile force. You, by your own admission, had the same personality in your early military days. You now have no qualms about throwing others under the bus for your own politically driven gain. You didn't do shit to grow us. You're using us as scapegoats to further your own career. If you have ignored everything else I've said, please read this carefully. My point is this; If you were right.... if your assertions were correct... if your viewpoints were correct.... if your gamelan was correct... things would be improving. Perverts and rapists and racists and frat boys would be forced out of the military and good, hardy young men would be joining. If you were right... the rate of sexual assaults would be decreasing significantly with every bad pilot purged. If your opinions and actions were correct.... the ship would be righting itself. Why don't you go ahead and tell me what's happening with the pilot force as you continue to treat them like criminals. How's the retention rate and new recruitment working out? Why don't you go ahead and tell me how we're doing in terms of reducing sexual assault. How's that going? If you and your opinions were correct, we wouldn't still be having this conversation. Take a good, long look in the mirror and ask yourself what effects your actions are really having on our force.

and their rescue was a fucking abortion, but at least they got home this entire argument is invalid because it assumes the F-35 will ever be viable
