  1. There has to be a point to all this, I just wonder when NK will just come out and say what has got their panties all in a wad (I'm not convinced it's just because of the ship searches)
  2. I wonder what the guy taking the video was doing waiting on this guy to land...makes me think he might have seen this happen before...
  3. "An Inconvenient Book", by Glenn Beck
  4. 2, and if you watch, he doesn't seem to have a problem moving his head around, i.e. when he is talking (even those little movements would be hard to do at 6gs, let alone 10) At 10gs, there is no way they those movements would be that smooth and fluid. They would be very jerky and sudden.
  5. I got to Vance last summer, and I only saw two F-16s drop on assignment night, and they were both with a F-22 follow on. One FAIP got an F-16 in November, but that was it. Edit: Rog, misred, disregard
  6. Don't know what is more gay, the tattoo or the fact that he is drinking Miller Chill...
  7. I can't stop laughing....
  8. These stories are f'n golden. Keep'em coming...
  9. It depends on the detachment. AAS was really lame at some dets when I was in ROTC. Our det did a lot of cool sh!t that kind of bent AAS rules, but it was much more fun that way.
  10. U.S., S. Korea Troops on High Alert (whatever that means)
  11. But only if they ride on Monday...
  12. Depends on your commander. How much of a DB is he? What about the other cadre? Do they have their BS filters up? Commander's ranking is suppose to take in the whole person concept. Our CC was able to see past the BS. Others aren't as lucky. God I hated ROTC...
  13. Used a version of that this weekend while running wingman for my friend. Worked like a charm. Conversation of the night: Chick 1: That a really interesting career choice! My Friend: Yeah, it pays the bills I guess. Chick 2: I didn't even know jobs like that existed. It's almost unbelievable. Me: Yeah, I never know if I should tell people, because most don't believe us. So I just go with something else like, I fly planes or something. Chick 1: Haha, yeah, but we would've never believed that.
  14. I'm sorry but this is all I can think of when I think of North Korea.
  15. He went through all of T-6s without having the surgery done. Like I said, he would still get airsick occasionally in formation. He graduated T-6s and is going through helo training at Rucker without any problems. Not sure on if it would be covered, but I'd assume it would be.
  16. Good movie. I liked it better than "Rise of the Machines". I liked the movie, but it seemed like the movie didn't advance the story very much. Everything is basically the same in the war at the start of the movie as it is after it. Other than that, thought it was decent.
  17. Damn, just lost that helo crew off of California, hate to toast two more times if we don't have to. Hope they are ok.
  18. I wonder how OSI found out. Doesn't sound like he walked into the squadron bar one Friday and yelled out "I love dudes" if only a few people knew about it.

    USAA

2 As far as Geico, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. The night before I PCSed from my casual base to pilot training, my truck was broken into. Stole my radio, pistol, broke my side window, and damaged the interior. I was supposed to start driving that morning to Vance, so I had to get my truck window at least fixed. I called Geico, and they gave me the run around about how their claims guy had to come out and look first, and how the next available date wasn't until the next week, and if I did it myself, they might not reimburse me. I got the window fixed anyway and drove to Vance. Once there, I tried to finish my claim. To make a long story short, I had to fight with them on the phone for 2 hours to cover my radio (wasn't aftermarket), they wouldn't cover my pistol (and my renters insurance wouldn't cover it because I had canceled it the day before, since I was moving... ), and they covered about 70% of the cost for the window. I called USAA, they were a bit higher, but when I told them my Geico coverage and rates, they matched Geico's rate.

    USAA

Not sure if this has been posted before, but I couldn't find it anywhere. So I think this is the best place to post it. My buddy told me that if you have a credit card through USAA and you PCS, you can get your APR temporarily lowered to 4% for 12 months from the date you PCSed. I was kind of skeptical, so I called (my last PCS was in March) As soon as I talked to the lady I mentioned that I just PCSed and wanted to check on the APR, she said "Ok, I'll set you up with the 12 month 4% APR". It took me 5 minutes. Not sure if anyone else has heard of this, but it's a pretty good deal. If this is known info and I am just behind the power curve, Mods, please delete.
  21. If you haven't seen it, Netflix has it available for rent with no wait. But I highly recommend buying it.
  22. That's good, but I don't think the ladies would appreciate that as much.. (/sarcasm)
  23. What about "Monoped Footwear Engineer"? Building shoes for poor people with one foot doesn't really roll of the tongue.
  24. When I commissioned in 07, the policy was that you (not your dependents though) had health benefits from the day you commissioned. I got sick and went to the base clinic about a month before I went active, and had no problem. Maybe it didn't matter because it was such a minor thing, but something you might want to check into more.
