  1. Nope, you can't be a fighter pilot. Tankers though, they take anyone... GodsPrototype? Seriously?
  2. Or maybe he should redistribute it to those who's BAH went down. It's only fair...
  3. Sweet! No one said there was a collage on page 13!
  4. I'll believe it when I see it. We just upgraded to 4.2 of CFPS. I give it at least 4 years.
  5. Great news. I think anyone who has ever dropped personnel has thought about this happening to them. (someone getting seriously hurt or killed) "No Drops" are free...and on training flights, you have to ask "Is someone going to die if we don't drop this?" I agree that this could impact guys decision making in the future. It would've been even worse if he was found guilty. Checks. Especially when they jump after RL and the crew gets the blame for the off DZ drop.
  6. That just reaffirms my beliefs that this is a witch hunt.
  7. Thanks for pointing out my use of self depreciating humor to me.
  8. I don't know what's real anymore...
  9. Haha, that's nothing! I made it to .54 once. (there's a reason the Herk lacks a Mach readout)
  10. Herk navs still have them. Sometimes if I'm bored, I'll tell him to compute our mach no. I'm just preparing for the day when a controller forgets what plane we are in and asks for my mach no. so that I can reply ".48".
  11. PACAF punted the decision to the NAF/CCs and WG/CCs. I can say that Yokota is blues free though. (at least until someone busts the curfew)
  12. Great story. Looking forward to reading the book.
  13. Can't be worse than hearing a RAF Herk call KIO during a RF-A Vul for shutting down an engine.
  14. One of the most frustrating parts of the situation is the uncertainty surrounding the curfew. We have heard everything from Christmas, to New Years, to 8 months from now. Among some of the other ideas on the table include a liberty pass policy (which may already be in the works... as all E-4s and below at Yokota have to have a "wingman" with them if they are off base from 1700-0500) and banning military members from drinking in public or on the trains (which to anyone who has been here knows will make that hour train ride to downtown painful). I just hope I can get at least one last Roppongi push in before I PCS.
  15. The guy who punched the 13 year old kid in the face? An Airman. (rumor has it that it was a 2LT...take that for what it's worth as the rumor mill has been in full swing since the curfew) https://www.stripes.c...a-teen-1.195627 Not sure for Iwakuni...but here at Yokota, all military (to include transients) are under the 2300-0500 curfew. If you try to leave base outside of those times, the cops stop you at the gate and question you. Life in Japan is slowly becoming more like that of South Korea.
  16. Standby for new Vol 3 with even more CRM callouts. Thanks guys! Here is your new AMC SII: Airfield Recognition
  17. Like THAT would ever happen. Oh yeah... Don't forget, you primary job is running the Mongolian Immigrant Appreciation Day luncheon.
  18. That checks. Maybe I should've went with "No way this could happen in today's Air Force...especially in AFSOC!"
  19. ...and here this whole time I thought AFSOC was somewhat immune to that type of buffoonery.
  20. Yeah, you've pretty much made it when you can claim that you own a gulfstream with your initials in the tail number.
  21. Yeah! Time for Operation Russian Freedom!
  22. 2 Forgive me for trying to lighten up on you. Since you have decided to be a SNAN (is that a real thing?), BOHICA... You obviously did not read carefully when I said to go in with a good attitude, maybe you did, but you showed ZERO SA by whining on baseops when someone pressed to test. I suggest that you take the next "2.5-3 years" to sit sideways, stare at the radar, and learn to never pass up an opportunity to STFU.
  23. Dyess isn't going to be an option, unless you already have orders there. They are going to be fully J within the next year or two. Listen to Disco when he says that you need to pay your dues. Don't walk in day 1 and say "Shit, I wish I was strike...airdrop sucks. I can't wait to crossflow." Someone will throat punch you. Keep in mind that IF you are able to go to another airframe, it's not going to happen right away. The best thing to do is to keep your eyes open for an opportunity. For instance, a lot of slick navs are going spec ops fairly easily, so that's something to keep in mind. Make sure you go in with a good attitude. Sounds like you have no earthly clue what life is like in the slick world, so give it a shot before you decide it isn't for you. You may find that being on a crew is something you enjoy.
