It's obnoxiously loud, heavy, spits flame, and is so impracticle you can't even shoot store bought ammo in it. It's fucking awesome.

I have a Glock 26 and 19 and have shot a 43 that I rented at the range, I wear size 10 gloves for reference. I couldn't get a solid two handed grip on the 43, but it is very thin which would be nice for carry and it isn't a range toy anyways. That said the recoil wasn't bad or anything, just wasn't fun to shoot. I can get a decent grip on the 26 with the pinky extender deals, but given the referenced girth if I was to do it all over again I'd skip the 26 and just have the 19 as it isn't much of a weight difference. May have to try out a Shield though.

Well, I'm certainly on the way to correcting the problem then.

First USPSA match in the bag! I highly recommend it, lots of fun and the other shooters (at least the club I shot at) were very helpful.

Glock grip texturing with a wood burning kit. I checkered the tip of the iron. Still some spots I can touch up later.

Incidentally, the internet seems to be full of folks buying Brown/Wilson/etc guns then bragging about how accurate they are by posting 2 inch groups shot at 10 yards. Then some other dope congratulates them on their purchase and great shooting. These same idiots will then go on about how inaccurate those damn Glocks are.... I'm busdriver and I'm a 1911 addict, but some folks need to buy more bullets and less guns. ETA: 2 inches is generous usually

dayman got me thinking about a compensator so I impulse bought this off Amazon. Since it has to clear the barrel, the hole in the front is huge (area around the bullet is about the same as the bore itself) so it doesn't actually do all that much. But it looks cool like I'm the Punisher. Shooting lightweight bullets with slow burning powder it does reduce muzzle flip a bit, it works really well as a flash suppressor though. For the re-loaders out there, power pistol behind 185g bullets makes for impressive muzzle blast.

Track Selects and Assignment Nights
At the risk of derailing this thread; we just had this discussion at work recently: what makes RPAs different than every other aircraft in the Air Force? Why are enlisted or WO pilots ok there but not in F-16s? At the end of the day I think the sticking point isn't can person X be a pilot, both have been in the past; but rather what does that mean for the personnel system, the AF leadership system, squadron dynamic and culture?

Trends in Air to Air Combat
You'd have to figure out the fuel burn at lower altitude vs range gained, etc. I'm sure you can find a tanker patch that's done lower altitude stuff with AFSOC. Look up a radar nomograph to see what the curve of the earth does.

I'm digging the 1911 things.......so I decided to build my own. Still waiting on a couple parts to fix what I fucked up but thought I'd share. ETA: Finished, probably could have done a better job stripping my first bluing attempt off. I think that's what caused the splotches in the second picture. The rust bluing was such a pain in the ass that I'm gonna call it good enough for my first build. Time to start plotting my second, gonna be a bobtail commander I think.

Got a new toy, range time later tonight... ETA: The vestigial sights make accurate shooting a "challenge," but fun as hell doing my best gum-shoe impression at close range.
