I agree with you on principle, just not reality. Look at what happened with Magpul, and Colorado hasn't gone yet full blown stupid liberal as of yet (they're heading that way). Colorado still passed/signed their bill, so it didn't work. California continues to pass higher taxes and not every wealthy person has moved out of the State...hence why California still does the same thing. Why?...because that's what their voters want. Sad but true.

I don't think too many companies will move...at least the large ones won't. Smith and Wesson is HQ'd in Massachusetts, Springfield is in Illinois, and Remington is in New York--very anti-gun States and I haven't heard of any of them moving. As for more dumb laws equating to less sales--that's true regardless of which State the companies reside in. If a company moves for reasons not equating to State taxes, business rules/regulations, better/cheaper workers, reduced expense, etc...if it's not for those business reasons, then the move would purely be for principle and emotional reasons. Don't get me wrong, I would definitely support gun manufacturers moving to more gun friendly States, but if they don't, it won't cause to me to stop purchasing their products if I see them as a good value. A bunch of us have been buying Smith and Wesson MP-15's because we've been able to get them for a pretty sweet deal...the fact that they reside in Massachusetts didn't really affect my decision one way or another.

Don't worry...Obamacare fixes all. I know this because he told me.

Another fine example of our public (ie government) schools indoctrinating children with lies and propaganda. It only makes an even stronger case for school choice and home schooling...as if there needed to be a stronger case. https://radio.foxnews.com/toddstarnes/top-stories/school-americans-dont-have-right-to-bear-arms.html

Not part of the lower, but PSA has complete Bolt Carrier Groups for $179 a piece...not hateful these days and getting pretty decent reviews if you're trying to build an upper. https://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/m16-bolt-carrier-group.html

Are those prices strictly for LE/Military? And... Smith & Wesson MP-15-22...with the threaded barrel/flash hider: $450 Not too bad of a price for this model if you're looking for one. https://lanbosarmory.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1412&referrer=cnwr_4191340829622

No worries man...just didn't feel like having the debate all over again, ie Buds is still price gouging.
-
That was the price when you posted it a couple weeks ago.

It's back...same info as listed above.

As I understand, this isn't the entire Colt Company? I still of course support even a partial (subsidiary) move, but I'd really like to see the entire company GTFO of Connecticut. Along with all the other firearms manufacturers in anti-Rights States.

You don't get it--the Air Force (at least in years past) WANTS guys to take the bonus. In the mid/late 90's they were offering all kinds of bonus options...even taking guys to 20 years or even more. What that did was help the bean counters better determine retention rates, how many new pilots they would need to produce for each year group, etc. This was still the case when the bonus went to only 5 years, with another example being as to why the AF stopped giving all the Navs a bonus, the numbers worked out to where it no longer was needed. So unless the Air Force has a strong reason to believe that this year's group of eligibles are more than likely to stay in regardless of a bonus...and they're willing to stay in for at least another 5 years, then it is financially worth it for the Air Force to offer the bonus to everybody. If you don't think there are any pilots (who didn't take the bonus) never separate 2-3 years after being offered the bonus then are you very mistaken. If dudes take the bonus, it's irrelevant if they want to get out 2-3 years later since they committed to another 5 years. There's a reason our initial commitment is what it is (and was increased 2 years 12-15 years ago) and there's also a reason for the bonus...it comes down to math for Big Blue. It's not that the Air Force just has a hard on to give their pilots a bonus...if that was the case, then the bonus option would be a good as it was back in the 90's.

S&W MP-15 OR available at Bud's Police/LE again. No MP-10 in .308, damn. https://www.budspolicesupply.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/4_10/products_id/170

From the White House's own website, an excerpt from Obama's speech: So either the 'greatest of public speakers' misspoke, he doesn't understand the difference between semi-auto and full-auto, or he intentionally tried to mislead (ie lie) people about what happened in CT. Given the buffoonery of the Colorado Congresswoman's remarks the other day concerning firearm magazines, I'm going to chalk it up to that he just doesn't understand what he's talking about...just like with healthcare, the economy, and on and on. However, it does get the same effect of trying to scare people that there are all these folks in the country with 'full automatic weapons'--give me a break.

I really wonder what gets factord into those reported costs...and how are they factoring in 'cost of upgrades'? ...and I also know that that the Huey and HH-60G aren't anything close to that cost.

If you haven't seen these 2 new short videos, you're definitely missing out...what an idiot. And she is one of the few who is allowed to write and vote on laws. https://www.realclear...e_reloaded.html and this...

After the Obamacare craziness we've seen over the past 3 years, from it being passed without a single vote from the opposition party and the 'tax vs interstate commerce' clown show in the SCOTUS, not much surprises me when it comes to what the Dems will try and pull. That being said, right now the Dems don't even have enough votes in their own party to pass much of any new gun restrictions in the Senate, much less the House. So unless I'm mistaken, unless the ATF has the power to do what you're suggesting on their own without an Act of Congress, then I don't see anything like this happening anytime soon. ...I agree this is what they want to do though. Just look at CA, NY, and CT for examples.

Hence why I gave the adjusted scenario. Is it that hard to imagine that someone would disobey the law because they believed it to unConstituional? It has happened before. Bigger voices, bigger organizations, and bigger pocketbooks...not bigger brains. If she 'had' knowingly did it because she believed she has a Constituional Right, then yes, seriously. Else, where is the line drawn?
-
My question to you was a moral one, though not too far off what we have actually seen in recent times in this country...Rosa Parks broke the law and I don't think many people, af least today, would call her an 'idiot'. Again, if this woman in the story above knowingly did what she did--at what point are people going to stop calling it 'idiotic' and start calling it 'courageous'? I think it's a fair question in light of what we're seeing today. If Sen Feinstein had her way, her bill would make you a criminal by not registering your firearms. To me, it all comes down on where you stand and what you either are or are not willing to risk.
-
Just out of curiosity, M2...if the woman knew all the local/State laws and and in full knowledge of what she was doing still decided to bring the firearm, would you still call her (and/or her husband) an idiot? Humor me with an answer if you wouldn't mind. On a different note, for those who haven't seen it: https://www.washingto...ulation-treaty/ U.N. passes sweeping international arms regulation viewed by some as Second Amendment override Though a treaty would have to be advised/consented by two-thirds of the Senate, which is extremely doubtful, I wonder how much this will affect sales of firearms like Glocks, Saiga AK's, Wolf ammo, etc? Just because it wouldn't affect sales and ownership here in the US, it could very well affect importation.
-
Yep--pretty sad, though their previous gun laws were also some of the worst, now this just makes them 'the' worst (are darn close). I'm sure it will get challenged in the courts and will be interesting to see where it goes from there. The biggest question--will Colt end up leaving?? As much as I would love for them to leave, I don't see it happening. Unlike Magpul, Colt is a very large business with a large government contract and I'm sure they'll even be given a good deal or be threatened with losing government business if they shut-up and stay put. As for the sorry bastards who live there, well, if Liberty and Freedom is that important to them then they'll make arrangements to move (shit, illegals do it everyday across the southern border). It's time to start voting with your feet.

Good article today on 'The Truth About Guns' discussing the writer's opinion on where we stand with the AR supply/demand and ammo supply. https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2013/04/foghorn/ar-15-shortage-ending-ammo-shortage-getting-worse/?fb_source=pubv1 What's interesting is that non-reloadable Russian 7.62 used to be darn near the same price as the same type in .223 (ie Wolf ammo). Now you can get bulk Russian 7.62 for as cheap as $.26-30/round whereas the non-reloadable Russian .223 seems to be pushing $.45-55/round, and that's if you can find it. I wonder if that will cause even more people to think the AK route is the way to go...even if just for sport shooting? I have quite a bit stocked up for both rifles, but at this rate, I'm thinking I'd be more inclined to go plinking with my AK vs my AR. Fortunately my MP-15-22 often gets the nod. Thoughts?

In the mighty Huey we would intentionally remove our doors in the summer time. When it's hot out with no AC, doors suck.

I pretty much agree with what Brick has said. I know I've done more than my fair of spewing my own political crap/BS philosophy on things (especially during the season), but I thought it was cool if it was in the appropriate thread...and preferably in the 'Squadron Bar' arena? I get that there are some people who don't respect other people's opinions as well as most here do...but I guess that's just the way it is. I wish Rainman would come back and continue to add his mentorship and good advice (plus he throws in a good joke once in a while), but that's his call of course. He could still add his points while avoiding the crap that some of us decide to take part in. Just my $.02

Damn...I'm wanting to get my hands on the MP10. Unfortunately, like you said, I'm not getting the alert emails when my 'wish-list' items are back in stock. Guess I just need to be checking it more frequently and hope I get lucky.

Unfortunately the subsonic rounds typically won't cycle the semi-autos well, if at all.
