And I would argue that current Trump is in a stronger position today compared to 2020 (especially considering how Biden has done over the last 3 years)…so it begs the question of what the left is willing to do this year?

If election officials in X state or Y county truly believe that our democracy is over if Trump gets elected, that he’ll be a dictator, our right will end, blah blah blah…why wouldn’t they manipulate the vote if they can? If you truly believed you were going to be living under a gestapo style police state, wouldn’t you do something in order to try and stop it? Manipulating the vote if you’re able to do so is a lot easier/less dangerous than an armed rebellion. What I’m saying is we have to start listening to what these government officials are saying and not just assume it’s 100% political rhetoric. Arresting people for being on beaches during Covid wasn’t political rhetoric…it actually happened.

I’m not a historian, so I don’t know the finer details when it comes to 200+ years of our national elections, but I would agree that there is always some level of voter fraud, that by definition I suppose qualifies as cheating. But I’m referring to something of the scale of 2020 when those in the federal government outright worked directly with big tech/the media to silence the legitimately of the Hunter laptop story in order to help Biden. I’ve been thinking about this more lately: So with the increased rhetoric from the left on how Trump is a Nazi, he’ll be a dictator if he wins, our democracy will be over, he’ll take all of our rights away, etc…if one is truly to believe that they actually think this way, then why should one also not believe that the left will do almost anything, including using illegal means, to keep Trump out of the WH? I mean, our founding fathers started a war over much less fear, so why would one be surprised if the leftists use illegal means to effect the results? Will leftists in government work with big tech to hurt Trump’s chances (just one example)?—they already did this in 2020 by the way. Additionally, the left is freaking out about any other independent/3rd party candidate on the ballot potentially taking away votes from Biden. They’re saying the candidates are putting democracy at risk (the irony)…eventually we have to ask ourselves what is the limit they will go to keep Trump from potentially wining, because I don’t think it’s entirely all just political rhetoric.

I don’t recall the left claiming ISIS was trying to get Trump elected, so if it’s between Russia and ISIS, the left will not take the side of Russia.

The court said that warning shots can be considered part of self defense if the self defense claim is warranted. If you see it differently then we’ll just have to disagree.

What’s pretty interesting is how much the left have dug their heals in on this issue the last several years. In the late 2000s, the Dems were all about calling them “legal immigrants”, and even when they switched to “undocumented” under Obama, his admin was still deporting them. Now Biden is apologizing for calling an alleged murderer, here illegally, an “illegal”, and actually trying to stop Texas from curbing illegal immigration…all during what is being called a “border crisis”. I don’t know how accurate the polling is, but from what I’ve seen, a sizable majority doesn’t seem to be with the left on this issue. Be interesting to see how this affects November, especially in non-blue states where incumbent Dem Senators are trying to hold onto their seats.

Ummm, I’m not an attorney, but if the Ohio Supreme Court deemed him firing a warning shot was indeed self defense, then this is how the rest of the state courts are expected to rule in similar cases. Just so I understand the argument you’re making, and correct me if I’m wrong: People shouldn’t take a stand on an issue they deem important if they don’t have first hand experience/know someone directly dealing with said issue?

I have a feeling if a parent allows their 7 year old on a dirt bike and the kid kills themself then that parent could be charged with negligence, or worse. And we also don’t allow kids to get drunk at age 9, regardless of what their parents desires. I could give plenty of other examples. As for knowing any trans kids, I also don’t personally know any children who were the victims of statutory rape, but I know that it’s not good.

The vast majority of these children grow out of it, so why push life alternating medication and/or surgery when it’s not needed? I remember wanting to do some really stupid things when I was a child and I’m glad my parents guided me in the right direction for the most part. And none of my silly desires would have had any extreme/lasting effects such as what I mentioned above. As for creating a nanny state in the home (which is already being done but we can argue each issue separately on their own merits if you’d like), what I’m suggesting is that you make it illegal for medical providers to prescribe such medication/perform such surgeries…at least without the minimum of an extremely high bar, which obviously isn’t being done today. We need to protect children from their confusion, not support it. As for the philosophy that they’ll just be screwed ip later in life and my family won’t, then that means we shouldn’t have any protections for children…and as libertarian as I am, that is just something that doesn’t sit well with me as children cannot consent to much of anything given their intelligence level at their young age.
