  1. With Conley, 3 of the last 4 AFSOC commanders will have been helo guys…all 3 had their first assignment in a Huey variant after getting their wings.
  2. I think he’ll most definitely be on some drugs based on the last SOTU speech. But he also was aggressive/angry then as well, something that Trump can capitalize on if Trump on his A-game/better behavior. At this point, especially with immigration being a horrible joke, inflation continuing to rise, and Biden consistently polling in the upper 30s/low 40s for the last 1-2 years, I currently think it’s Trump to lose. But don’t underestimate the ability of Trump to say something really bad (again) or for the Dems to pull some crazy surprise in the later summer/early fall. This election will once again be interesting, to say the very least.
  3. It’s good to know that the Congresswoman only think that white men are the ones failing in the country.
  4. Sure, but there’s a difference between voting for someone and going to his rallies as well as voting for him. I’ll vote for Trump because I agreed with a lot (definitely not all) of his policies (even though I personally dislike him) when he was president, and I agree with very few of Biden’s and also think he has major cognitive issues…but I’ll never go to a Trump rally, even it was within a 30 min drive. So I think the rallies are a reflection of the differences in enthusiasm for the candidates, which is what the vast majority of the polls have been saying for a while. Now Trump still had far more people at campaign events in 2020 compared to Biden, but that was also in the height of Covid… which today very few people seem concerned. The vast majority of the polls also show that Trump is doing quite a bit better with minorities compared to 2016 and 2020. Add in the fact that Biden’s approval numbers have been in the upper 30s/low 40s for quite a long time…which no president in recent times have been reelected with such low approval numbers 6 months out from the election, and I think the nod today definitely goes to Trump. I think it will once again come down to turnout, and don’t underestimate the Dem turnout machine. I wouldn’t be surprised if either one when given how divided the country is, but if I had to put money on one today, it would be Trump.
  5. While emotionally this might temporarily feel good, this also isn’t the answer. Prison shouldn’t be where we send people hoping that they’ll be harmed by other prisoners. I don’t blame you for saying it as I’m sure I’ve done the same in the past, it’s just that if we’re going to live in a better society then prisons also need to be decently safe for the prisoners. And that doesn’t necessarily mean they get video games, delicious meals, brand new gym equipment, etc.
  6. I trust the worst gas station sushi more than I do Ben Crump. But that being said, from the looks of the video, that officer was most definitely in the wrong IMO (of course I’ve never been a LEO). And after a fair trial/if the jury agrees, I hope he goes to prison for a very long time. RIP to the fellow airman and condolences to his family. As much as I disdain corrupt and bad law enforcement, I do not envy the job of LEOs. I can’t even imagine the stress they’re under, but this situation most definitely can’t be the way of doing things. Personal liberty and freedom needs to be real and not just a cliche.
  7. This 💯
  8. There are several different threads I could post this, but since this one has been quiet lately, here it goes: So the Chair of the Council of Economic Advisers, the main agency advising Biden on economic policy, doesn’t really understand how the government borrows its own money.
  9. I wonder what the Democratic Convention in Chicago will look like this summer…
  10. I already said I’m against the income tax, you don’t have to sell me on it.
  11. Seems like SWA continues to have some problems due to the Boeing issues… https://www.usatoday.com/story/travel/airline-news/2024/04/26/southwest-airlines-leaving-airports/73465807007/
  12. Perhaps I’m not ok with it because I know that it won’t just be the rich that will pay this new tax…in the early 1900s the implementation of the income tax was originally sold as “soak the rich” when it was enacted. Yeah, how did that work out for us? https://www.pbs.org/newshour/economy/making-sense/the-income-tax-in-1913-a-way-to-soak-the-rich
  13. Unfortunately any parent that is ok with their kid going to drag queen story hour is probably ok with them chanting this nonsense.

    Gun Talk

I don’t…if someone is so dangerous that we can risk them illegally obtaining a firearm then they should remain in prison (ie fufill their sentence). Once they do the time and are deemed able to rejoin society, they’re free, and should have the their rights restored. If not, we run the risk of a tyrannical government (even worse than we currently have at the federal and state levels) charging people for BS crimes, and giving them a “plea deal” to avoid prison (or a very light sentence), and there goes your gun rights. If you’re a free person, you’re free. As for background checks, same type of thing above…it is essentially asking for permission to exercise freedom. I think it’s hilarious that people still trust the feds after what we’ve been seeing that last several decades.

Kind of like a “well regulated clock”…clearly the government needs to regulate our clocks.

Serial numbers eventually leads to registration, and registration eventually leads to confiscation…this has happened many times in the world. Can’t force registration to what the Feds don’t even know ever existed.
  17. So how long before Ukraine asks for more money/resources once this $60B or whatever is used up? A year, give or take?

SCOTUS to hear “ghost gun” ban challenges. My guess is they’ll overturn this one as well, which is a good thing. https://www.reuters.com/world/us/us-supreme-court-hear-challenge-bidens-ghost-guns-curbs-2024-04-22/#:~:text=The ATF rule targeted the, lawfully purchasing firearms%2C including minors.
  20. Sounds familiar…2021? I’m a big of fan of the “Hearts and Minds” strategy—it’s been working so well the several decades.
  21. There’s a massive difference between Chamberlain telling Hitler that the UK is fine Germany taking additional territory in 1930s and the west condemning Russia for invading Ukraine but not wanting to give them an endless supply of resources. Appeasement is not the same as spending hundreds of billions of dollars we don’t have to support a country halfway around the world.
  22. Easy—Israel is a much stronger ally than Ukraine, especially considering both regions. Also, we’re much more concerned about pissing Russia off (even more) than we are with Iran. Not to mention the politics here in the US involved with supporting Israel over the years. Oh and the regions are different as well in terms of US priorities, but I think I kind of mentioned that already. But to be fair, I don’t think we should actively get involved with either.
  23. “Starved of the weaponry”? Is Ukraine trying to produce their own weapons that the rest of the world is keeping them from producing? Or is Ukraine trying to purchase weapons from the rest of the world, with the rest of the world saying they will not sell? This is the same argument I’ve heard that goes something like this: “If you stop giving welfare to X people then you’re starving them”.
  24. Folks like me? You mean people who actually want to put our own country and our own citizens first? If that’s the case, then I’ll take that as a compliment. Oh, and here should be your biggest concern for our country… https://www.usdebtclock.org
