Article is almost 13 years old...just sayin'

I have a feeling that you struggle with your depth perception portion of your eye exam.

No. It's a tattoo.

FY 14 Force Management Program (RIF, VSP, TERA)
HeloDude replied to AOF_ATC's topic in General Discussion
I think you are trying to say that you have an ADSC that will be completed before most other pilots in your same year group. Everyone receives the same 10 year ADSC for UPT...yours wouldn't the shorter or longer. -
No. All about personal preference. That being said, Oban 14yr, Macallan and Balvenie 15yr are excellent options IMHO. Raise your cap above $100 and the options become even more glorious.

All this time I had no clue that I could be potentially driving women to suicide from all the orgasms I give them. From now on I think I'll focus more on myself, just to be safe.

Agree to a certain extent. Here's why: Big Blue (which gives the final nod for the bonus, not AFPC in a bubble) might be willing to roll the dice and not offer a bonus this year to certain AFSC's to see how retention fares compared to years past...Big Blue can always decide next year to reverse course and give the bonus out again, and all they lost were the guys who separated this year, which they lose an X percent each year anyway with the bonus (besides, some guys have longer commitments due to GI Bill transfer, TA, new PCS, etc). It all comes down to the bottom line for the folks in DC, hence why the majority of Navs/CSO 's no longer receive a bonus, and likewise, the 11F's got a much better one last year. Is getting rid of the bonus worth losing, say, 3% more than usual? Perhaps. Is it worth losing 15%...probably not. I can argue positions for and against it, but nobody knows exactly what will happen until they actually suspend it. This all being said, I have a feeling the bonus won't change much from last year, and that's what I'm personally hoping to see.

UH-60M = no AR probe MH-60M = AR probe (just one example, which you're obviously aware of...not saying it will have the exact same probe or specifications) I think there will me some more similarities to the MH-60M vs just being similar to a slick UH-60M. I'm pretty sure I know you what meant though.
-
I know you put your asterisk comment, but just to reiterate, nothing has been awarded as of yet as the Milestone B Decision has to be officially made, which must be done prior to contract award. As for the actual aircraft, the 160th SOAR is already flying MH-60M models...my bet is that it will be similar to that design, just finely tailored for the Air Force and its PR mission. I think we'll know for sure here pretty soon!

...I'm almost sorry I asked. Actually, I am sorry I asked. I didn't think the term 'docs' would be misconstrued for nurses, pharmacists, PA's, etc. Next time, instead of repeating your original word of 'doc', I will specificy "How many M.D.'s and D.O.'s..." Glad we cleared that all up.

What percentage of the AF non-rated officers (to include flight docs) are docs? Besides, don't the docs already get a larger doc pay/bonus? Also, I'm assuming that docs don't even make up half of medical officers...could be wrong though. I'm pretty sure StoleIt was referring to CE's, MX O's, Comm O's, etc...you know, the entire pool of non-rated officers he was referring to. Just busting your balls a little, man. I have heard that from young acquisition O's that the AF does have a tough time in keeping them past their first assignment since they can make a lot more on the outside. Guess it's a good thing, since the young ones are getting ass raped on the force shaping/RIF.

Not exactly answering your question here...but why not just an AK-74, which is the original rifle for the 5.45? Classic Arms has quality Waffen Werks AK-74's for as cheap at $600, and for a little more you can get it with nicer furniture. Also, I've seen Bulgarian polymer mags as cheap as $13-15 for the 74 (they're not Circle 10 quality, but they'll definitely do the job most need them to do). I have a WW 74 and it's a great shooter. Whatever you get, don't forget to rinse out and then clean your rifle right away after shooting the corrosive ammo that you linked.

Thank God you are not a real operator...time is too precious to have to explain jokes and sarcasm.

...or just record the whole thing. Worst (or best?) case is that it keeps you out of jail...if that's never needed, then you get to watch the best porno ever made (well, if you're me anyway).

Forget it, he's rolling... -
Sorry that I'm a little late on the response. You list some great choices, but my reason for being so interested in VCOG is the robustness and durability of Trijicon's products and that it will (hopefully) be extended to their variable low powered scopes. I'm far from an optics expert, but I'm not familiar with any of the products you listed (such as the Leupold 1-6) that can take as much of a beating as the Trijicon when it comes to magnified optics. Having family members in Army combat MOS's and some good friends in various ground SOF roles, they all have told me their opinions on the Trijicon in terms of a 'tactical' accessory (for me it would be more 'tacticool' haha) and how it can be tossed around with little to no problems. Thoughts? Oh, and I registered for the Fed/mil discount with Leupold, and like the others have said, damn those discounts are pretty sweet! I'll definitely be making a purchase soon!

I saw a similar email...but the one I saw with the 85% for O-4's was specifically for JAG types. -
Really? Not going to happen...don't forget, our top civilian officials and GO's have been saying that even with the cuts that our military will still be just as capable as before with regards to achieving our natural security objectives. So according to those folks, 'we're good'. But seriously, does anybody seriously think we should get militarily involved with this one?
-
No info, but questions: What do you want to order? Do you know how much their mil discounts are? Different related question on optics: Anybody checked out the reviews written on Trijicon's new VCOG? Looks pretty damn sweet...pretty damn expensive too.

And senior officers wonder why many in the ranks don't believe in what AF management has to say. I was taught as young instructor that I had to establish credibility...I don't see much credibility with this issue. -
It was passed in the budget and appropriated...so the money is there if the AF once again decides to use it. I'm in the same boat man but I have a feeling it's going to get delayed longer than usual because of the VSP/RIF BS. But you're right, for an 11F (assuming it would at least be the same as last year), the longer it takes, the more you lose since you would get it to 20. Damn bastard.

Regardless of your politics, there's a Senate race this year in Alaska which could be very close and could potentially be the race to flip the Senate...so if you're looking for a vote that matters compared to not, you've found one. The State benefits will always trump which State I want to vote in. Think about it--you automatically receive the benefits of the State you claim, but it's very doubtful that the political vote will come down to your 1 single vote.

Well, I can't imagine ANYONE thinking it was classy/a good idea to make jokingly poses in front of a coffin of a dead service member draped with the American flag...so much for not being able to imagine things correctly. If we're busting folks for having pictures on their work desk of their wives at the beach, then I think this is more than fair game.
